Chapter 18: Major Overhaul

The secretary handed the new phone to Su Xiaobai, taking the opportunity to rest her hand on top of his. He pulled her into his arms and raised an eyebrow.

"Have you thought of a plan? Let’s hear it," he said.

"There are plenty of people in the Lin Family who want to see Lin Aoxue suffer. If we can’t deal with her from the outside, we can always break her from the inside." Leaning against Su Xiaobai’s chest as if she had no bones, the secretary traced lazy circles on his shirt with her finger as she spoke.

"Hahaha! That’s my sweet girl! I knew I could count on you at a crucial moment like this."

Her reminder made Su Xiaobai’s eyes light up. His previously gloomy expression instantly cleared, and the temperature in the office rapidly began to rise. Before long, the two were hopelessly entangled with each other.

In truth, Su Xiaobai didn’t even like Lin Aoxue that much; it was more about the thrill of the conquest. If she were like other women who came and went at his beck and call, he wouldn’t be nearly this obsessed with her. But she had to be so arrogant, looking down on him at every turn. The more she refused to marry him, the more he wanted her.

Men were born with an innate desire to conquer. For Su Xiaobai, Lin Aoxue was less of a romantic interest and more of a challenge. The more aloof and pristine she acted, the more he wanted to shatter her flawless image.

The day of the partnership banquet soon arrived. Ye Xuan was dragged out of bed bright and early by Yang Bingyu.

"Bingyu, couldn’t you have just picked out a suit for me? Did you really have to drag me along?" Ye Xuan looked at her in exasperation.

He was never picky about clothes; he just wore whatever was handed to him. Shopping was completely beyond his skillset. He would rather spend the time practicing his boxing.

"You have to try clothes on to see how they look! Just be a good boy and follow my lead today," Yang Bingyu said, her little fists clenching with determination. "I am going to make sure you’re the most handsome man at the banquet. We’ll blind those snobs in the Lin Family with your sheer brilliance!"

Women possessed a unique, fiery passion for shopping, and Yang Bingyu was currently acting as if she were pumped with Chicken Blood. Brimming with absolute confidence, she pulled Ye Xuan into the largest luxury mall in Jianghai City.

The mall exclusively sold high-end luxury goods. Apart from Jianghai City’s upper crust, ordinary citizens tended to give the place a wide berth. The massive complex was sparsely populated, making the environment extremely quiet and tranquil.

Yang Bingyu was a regular here; almost every employee knew her by face. The moment she stepped through the doors, the staff swarmed her and Ye Xuan with overwhelming enthusiasm.

"Ms. Yang! Welcome back! What are we shopping for today? We just got a new eye cream in stock with incredible results. Would you like to try it?"

"Ms. Yang! Our new summer collection just arrived! It’s exactly your style. Shall I bring some pieces over for you to look at?"

"Ms. Yang! The bag you were eyeing last time is finally in stock. Do you still want it? I can wrap it up for you right now!"

Ye Xuan was blocked on the outer fringes by the passionate mob of salesgirls, completely unable to squeeze his way in.

"Stop! Time out!" Yang Bingyu held up a hand, cutting off the endless chatter of the sales staff. "He’s the main character today. I want you to style him so well that women won’t even be able to walk straight when they see him."

It took her a moment to spot Ye Xuan, who had been pushed to the very edge of the mob. She shoved her way through the crowd, pulled him over to her side, and patted his shoulder.

"Understood! Don’t worry, Ms. Yang. Leave it to us!"

Upon hearing her request, the group instantly shifted their undivided attention to Ye Xuan. A fashionably dressed young man with chestnut hair grabbed Ye Xuan and dragged him into a high-end salon.

"Come on, gather around! We’re giving this gentleman a total makeover!" The stylist clapped his hands, instantly summoning a flock of hairdressers.

Before Ye Xuan could even open his mouth to protest, the team descended upon him. They fussed and tinkered for over two hours before his hair was finally finished.

"Mmm... not bad. I like the color," Yang Bingyu said. She stroked her chin and nodded with deep satisfaction as she inspected his freshly dyed chestnut hair.

The new cut perfectly framed Ye Xuan’s face, and the chestnut tone brought out the natural brightness of his skin. With his already handsome features, the new look instantly gave him the aura of a famous pop idol. Several of the female employees in the salon immediately swooned over him, and a few even asked for a photo together.

Ye Xuan, however, felt incredibly awkward as he stared at his reflection in the mirror. This was the first time in his life he had ever dyed his hair, and he barely recognized himself.

"Hair is done. Off to the next stop." After paying the bill, Yang Bingyu showed no signs of letting him off the hook. She dragged him straight into a high-end menswear boutique.

"This one, this one, and that one. Oh, and this entire rack here, and the top row over there." The moment they walked in, Yang Bingyu went on a frantic shopping spree. In just a matter of minutes, she had picked out more than a dozen suits.

"You don’t expect me to try all of these on, do you?" Ye Xuan’s eyelid twitched, every fiber of his being resisting the idea.

"No," Yang Bingyu replied without even turning her head.

Ye Xuan instantly let out a sigh of relief. If he had to try on a dozen suits, he would die of exhaustion.

"I want you to try on everything else besides the ones I just picked out."

His momentary joy was instantly shattered. He stared at her in utter disbelief, his pupils dilating in shock. "What did you just say? Try on the rest of the store? You’re kidding, right?"

"Do I look like I’m joking? Stop complaining. You should be grateful I’m even willing to pick out clothes for you. Hurry up and try them on." Yang Bingyu casually grabbed a gray suit, shoved it into his hands, and pushed him into the fitting room.

Standing alone in the small cubicle, Ye Xuan felt a wave of helpless despair. He let out a heavy sigh and finally resigned himself to his fate, changing into the gray suit.

"Wow! Sir, that suit fits you perfectly! The color compliments your hair so well. You look absolutely incredible!"

When Ye Xuan awkwardly stepped out of the fitting room with his gaze darting around the store, the salesgirls’ eyes lit up, and they showered him with endless praise.

Hearing the commotion, Yang Bingyu looked up from the magazine she was reading on the sofa. The moment her eyes landed on Ye Xuan, she clearly froze.

"Uh... does it look bad? I’ll go change into the next one." Assuming her stunned silence meant she didn’t like it, he turned to head back into the fitting room.
