Chapter 215 - 213: Throw Out

Ye Xuan knew he was deliberately changing the subject. Instead of exposing him, he simply sipped his drink and observed the situation on the manager’s side.

"Oops, my hand slipped and hit the wrong spot. I didn’t expect to blind you in one eye. I’m truly sorry.

"I definitely won’t miss with the next one. Should I cripple your left hand or your right hand?"

The manager gasped in feigned surprise, uttering these highly punchable words.

Hearing this, the other Yang Country men were instantly enraged, drawing their blades and pointing them at the manager.

"Sore losers, huh? Are you trying to use numbers to bully us?" The manager raised an eyebrow at them.

He snapped his fingers, and the brothers standing behind him drew their weapons in unison once again. With the dark muzzles of the guns aimed right at them, the previously arrogant Yang Country men began to lose their nerve.

The one-eyed Yang Country man gritted his teeth against the pain and stood up from the sofa. He barked something in gibberish at his group. The manager didn’t understand what was said, nor was he interested in knowing. Regardless, after the man shouted, the other Yang Country men sheathed their blades.

"I challenge you to a one-on-one duel," the injured man said to the manager, lowering his hand from his ruined left eye.

The manager raised an eyebrow and tossed the remaining die in his hand. "For the sake of fairness, I’ll fight you with one eye closed too."

With that, he shut his left eye.

A flash of shock crossed the Yang Country man’s face, immediately replaced by monstrous fury. This wasn’t fairness at all; it was a blatant humiliation. His own eye was permanently blinded and useless, while the manager’s eye was perfectly fine and only closed on purpose. Wasn’t he basically saying that even with a handicap, his opponent still stood no chance?

"Go to hell!" the Yang Country man roared, wildly slashing his military knife at the manager.

The manager didn’t even counterattack; he merely dodged. Several times, the blade seemed destined to strike him, only for him to agilely slip away at the last second. The Yang Country man grew increasingly infuriated, his breathing turning ragged.

A glint flashed in the manager’s eyes. Taking advantage of his opponent’s heavy panting, he flicked the die—now warm from his palm—right at him.

The Yang Country man was in the middle of bringing his knife down when he suddenly let out a muffled groan. His left hand instantly went limp, and the military knife fell to the ground with a loud CLANG.

A bloody hole had appeared on his wrist, blood spurting out like a fountain. His hand was truly crippled.

The Yang Country man stared at his wrist in disbelief. He was so stunned that he temporarily forgot the pain.

"Ah! Ahhh!" It took him quite a while to process what had happened before he began to let out a series of beast-like roars.

"Break one hand off each of these men and throw them out," the manager ordered his subordinates, casually dusting himself off.

The remaining Yang Country men were completely dumbfounded. Even their strongest fighter had just lost an eye and a hand; they wouldn’t dare put up a fight now.

The injured hostess was quickly escorted away, and Wang Siming, who had been pinned to the sofa, was rescued. The messy booth was swiftly restored to its pristine state, and even the metallic stench of blood in the air was masked by high-quality incense.

Had he not witnessed and experienced it himself, Wang Siming would have thought the whole ordeal was just a dream.

"Principled, measured, and decisive. He’s a good prospect." Ye Xuan nodded in immense satisfaction as he watched the manager handle the aftermath so methodically.

"Hey, this guy is one of my people. Don’t even think about it," the King of the Underworld warned, instantly growing vigilant at Ye Xuan’s approving gaze. Ye Xuan had poached plenty of men from him in the past; he needed to keep his guard up.

"Look at how petty you are. My White Snake is no less capable than him, alright?" Ye Xuan rolled his eyes, utterly speechless.

"You actually have the nerve to bring that up! Didn’t you poach White Snake from me too?" The King of the Underworld grew agitated at the mention of this.

Back when they were establishing their respective departments, the King of the Underworld had immediately set his sights on White Snake. He had claimed that White Snake was a great talent who, with proper training, would definitely achieve greatness. But who would have thought that guy would choose Ye Xuan instead? It had infuriated him so much that he couldn’t sleep properly for days.

"Give me a break. My bond with White Snake runs much deeper than yours. His participation in the selection process was just going through the motions. I had him locked in from the very beginning." Ye Xuan shot the King of the Underworld an exasperated glare, unwilling to argue further.

"Brother King of the Underworld, Cyan Dragon Chief, thank you for helping me once again."

Right as the two were bickering, Wang Siming approached them. He had two fresh bruises on his face, and his left brow bone was swollen. It seemed he had taken quite a beating earlier.

"You don’t need to thank us for this. This is my turf. Since those Yang Country people dared to cause trouble here, they naturally have to pay the price," the King of the Underworld said, waving his hand dismissively.

"No, no, no, I must thank you. If you hadn’t stepped in today, Brother King of the Underworld, I probably would have been beaten to death by those Yang Country men," Wang Siming insisted, waving his hands repeatedly.

He grabbed a glass, poured himself a drink, and bowed deeply to Ye Xuan and the King of the Underworld. "Cyan Dragon Chief, Brother King of the Underworld, thank you so much for coming to my rescue again! I’d like to propose a toast!"

With that, he straightened up abruptly and downed the entire glass of alcohol in one gulp. The liquor had a strong kick to it, and because Wang Siming drank it so hastily, he ended up choking and coughing violently.

"Hey, we’re all friends here. No need to be so polite." The King of the Underworld gestured for Wang Siming to sit down and poured him a glass of lemon water.

"Wang Siming, what’s the background of these Yang Country people? What kind of business did they come to Jingcheng to discuss with the Wang family?" A sharp gleam flashed in Ye Xuan’s eyes as he decided to pry some information out of him.

"They’re from the Sakura Group in Yang Country. That man who lost an eye is their Sales Manager, Takeshita Senseki.

"They came to Jingcheng this time mainly to negotiate an electronics deal with the Wang family," Wang Siming answered truthfully after taking a sip of lemon water to calm his coughing, failing to notice Ye Xuan’s probing.

"During the time you’ve spent with them, have you noticed anything unusual about them?" Ye Xuan frowned slightly upon hearing his explanation.

The Sakura Group was considered quite a massive enterprise in Yang Country, with partnerships spanning numerous companies in Huaxia. Their international reputation and standing were also excellent. Since their primary focus was manufacturing electronic products, seeking out the Wang family for a partnership didn’t seem problematic at all.

Yet, Ye Xuan couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off.

"I haven’t noticed anything like that. However, they did make quite a few unreasonable demands. It almost felt like they weren’t genuinely interested in collaborating," Wang Siming replied with a frown after a moment of thought.

"Oh? What kind of strange demands did they make? Tell me about it."
