Chapter 50: Finally Confessed

"I treat Bingyu like my own younger sister. There really is nothing going on between us," Ye Xuan explained again, feeling somewhat helpless. He didn’t want Lin Aoxue to misunderstand him.

Hearing this, Lin Aoxue curled her lip. "But earlier, Yang Bingyu said you two were already together and that you were her boyfriend. You only know how to lie to me. I don’t believe a word you say."

Thinking of what Yang Bingyu had said, Lin Aoxue felt a sour pang in her heart. She wondered since when her ex-husband had become someone else’s man.

Ye Xuan scratched his head awkwardly. When Yang Bingyu claimed they were a couple earlier, he had acted out of his own selfish desires, wanting to make Lin Aoxue jealous.

"Well, that’s the truth. If you don’t believe me, there’s nothing I can do. As long as you’re okay, I should probably head back."

It was already past eight in the evening, and Ye Xuan didn’t dare stay any longer. That girl Bingyu was probably still mad at him, and it would likely take him quite a while to coax her once he got back.

He sighed inwardly. The ancients were right—women and petty people were truly the hardest to deal with.

"Are you going back to find Yang Bingyu?" Seeing that he was about to leave, Lin Aoxue grew anxious. She grabbed Ye Xuan’s arm, reluctance pooling in her eyes.

"She was extremely angry that I came to find you. I have to go back and coax her," Ye Xuan said truthfully.

At those words, the light in Lin Aoxue’s eyes instantly dimmed. Her heart ached bitterly, and she felt so terrible she wanted to cry. She wondered why he had to go coax Yang Bingyu just because she was jealous, especially since he claimed he didn’t like her.

"Ye Xuan, I forbid you from leaving!"

The more Lin Aoxue thought about it, the more chaotic her mind became. In the end, only one thought remained in her head: she had to make Ye Xuan stay. Driven by some inexplicable impulse, she hugged Ye Xuan from behind, her arms wrapping tightly around his waist, forcing him to a dead halt just as he was about to leave.

Feeling Lin Aoxue’s softness against him, Ye Xuan’s body noticeably stiffened, and a trace of panic flashed across his face.

"Aoxue, don’t do this. We’re already divorced. This isn’t good for either of us." Ye Xuan suppressed his emotions, trying to pry her hands away, but Lin Aoxue only hugged him tighter.

"No, I won’t let you go. You are mine, and I’ll never let you go again."

Lin Aoxue was completely oblivious to the changes in Ye Xuan. She shook her head vehemently, her body swaying slightly with the motion.

This was sheer torture for Ye Xuan. He swallowed hard, turned around, and looked at her.

"Aoxue, are you sure what you feel for me is love? Sometimes, habits can be mistaken for love. I was by your side for five whole years, so you’re definitely not used to my sudden departure.

"Maybe you’ve mistaken this discomfort for loving me. You should calm down and think things through first."

Hearing this, Lin Aoxue shook her head vigorously again. She had thought it through very clearly. She had simply fallen in love with Ye Xuan. It wasn’t about missing a habit or feeling unaccustomed to his absence. Since he refused to believe her, she would just have to prove it to him.

Steeling her heart, Lin Aoxue made a move that caused Ye Xuan’s brain to short-circuit on the spot.

She stood on her tiptoes and pressed her lips against his. Ye Xuan’s eyes instantly widened, a trace of desire coloring his gaze.

Having never kissed anyone before, Lin Aoxue was so nervous she felt like she was going to explode. She only knew to press their lips together; she had no idea what else to do. She panicked, wondering what she should do next.

At a complete loss, she couldn’t help but stick out her tongue to lick her dry lips. That simple action made Ye Xuan’s mind explode with a BOOM. The emotions he had been desperately restraining completely erupted because of this kiss.

His large hand cupped the back of Lin Aoxue’s head, deepening the kiss.

From there, things spiraled entirely out of control. One thing naturally led to another, and they did everything they should and shouldn’t do.

"Ye Xuan, do you like me?"

After the passion subsided, Lin Aoxue leaned against Ye Xuan’s chest, asking with flushed cheeks. She had only intended to kiss him; she hadn’t expected things to escalate to this point. She hadn’t even considered whether Ye Xuan actually liked her. She began to worry about what she would do if this was all just wishful thinking on her part.

"I like you. I’ve liked you for a very long time."

Since things had already reached this stage, there was no need for Ye Xuan to hide his feelings for Lin Aoxue anymore. He lowered his head and kissed her forehead, answering in a deep, sexy voice.

Feeling anxious, Lin Aoxue could hardly believe her ears. Her large eyes widened in surprise. She sat up in excitement, looking at Ye Xuan as she asked uncertainly, "Are you telling the truth? But if you like me, why did you say all those harsh words to me before?"

Thinking of the resolute words Ye Xuan had said back then, Lin Aoxue’s heart still felt a pang of pain. She pouted slightly, a hint of resentment on her face.

Seeing her adorable appearance, Ye Xuan smiled and tapped the tip of her nose. "I wonder which little brat brought up the divorce and said she’d have nothing to do with me ever again."

Lin Aoxue, who had just been complaining about Ye Xuan, instantly blushed. Her eyes darted around, not daring to meet his gaze.

"W-Well, you can’t blame it all on me. Back then, I thought I hated you, so I-I..."

By the end of her explanation, Lin Aoxue could barely speak anymore. That was because Ye Xuan had actually leaned over her back, pressing kisses against her neck. The tingling, numb sensation made Lin Aoxue’s body go limp instantly. Soon, the bedroom was once again filled with a scene of intimacy.

At the Yang Family villa.

Yang Bingyu was still fuming. She paced back and forth in the living room. The rest of the Yang Family didn’t dare approach her, terrified of getting caught in the crossfire.

"Why isn’t Ye Xuan back yet? Does it really take this long to explain things to Lin Aoxue? I’m so mad!"

Yang Bingyu glanced up at the wall clock. The hour hand was slowly ticking toward twelve o’clock, yet there was still no word from Ye Xuan. This made her extremely uneasy.

She wondered if they could have rekindled their old flame. No, that was impossible. Ye Xuan had said he was thoroughly disappointed in Lin Aoxue, so there was no way they would get back together. But what could possibly be taking so long? She even wondered if Ye Xuan had gotten into a car accident.

Yang Bingyu’s emotions were a complicated mess. Her mind was a jumbled blur, running wild with paranoid thoughts.

"Bingyu, if you’re so worried, just give Ye Xuan a call and ask," Yang Zhennan advised, unable to hold back any longer after being made dizzy by her constant pacing.

"I will not! Why should I be the first to call him? He’s the one who made me upset!" Yang Bingyu flatly rejected Yang Zhennan’s suggestion without a second thought. It was Ye Xuan who was in the wrong; why should she be the one to lower her head?

"Sigh, you stubborn girl..."

Looking at the stubbornly defiant Yang Bingyu, Elder Yang was at a loss. He shook his head, sighed, and retired to his room.
