Chapter 53: Past Events

Seeing Yang Bingyu’s eyes sparkling with joy, Far fell into a brief daze. He seemed to catch a glimpse of a familiar shadow in her.

Ye Xuan’s face instantly darkened when he saw Far’s expression. He pulled Far aside and whispered.

"You’d better watch yourself. You can fool around with any other woman, but you are absolutely forbidden from provoking Bingyu. If you dare to hurt a single hair on her head, see how I’ll deal with you!"

The words were full of warning. Far’s eyes flickered, but there wasn’t a trace of fear on his face.

"What if Bingyu and I fall in mutual love? You can’t stop us from being together, can you? Besides, you aren’t her blood brother. What gives you the right to forbid me from pursuing her?"

Far was the type of man who would risk his life for a beauty. Ye Xuan’s eyes turned sharper after hearing his reply. Gritting his teeth, he issued another low warning.

"What genuine feelings could a stud like you possibly have? I’m telling you, stay away from Bingyu, or I’ll have White Snake deal with you!"

Hearing Ye Xuan mention White Snake, Far’s mouth twitched, and he shrugged in exasperation. "Alright, alright. As long as I don’t go after her, we’re good, right?"

"Since the gift has been delivered, let’s go. I’ll take you to see an old friend," Ye Xuan replied.

Ye Xuan knew full well that Far was just blowing him off. Grabbing him by the collar, he practically dragged the man away from Yang Bingyu. Yang Bingyu wanted to tag along, but Ye Xuan refused. This made the already furious woman even angrier, and she threatened to cut ties with him entirely. After much coaxing and pleading from Ye Xuan, Yang Bingyu finally calmed down and reluctantly agreed not to go to the hospital with them.

It wasn’t until they got into the car that Ye Xuan released his grip on Far’s clothes. This behavior left Far speechless; was he really that terrifying?

"Say, Ye, are you sure you aren’t tempted by such a great beauty?"

Far, a man who had been with countless women, found himself somewhat captivated by Yang Bingyu. He didn’t believe that Ye Xuan, who spent day and night with her, would feel absolutely nothing. "Far!" Ye Xuan barked with a dark expression, clear displeasure in his eyes.

Seeing that he was genuinely angry, Far had no choice but to drop it. Although they had been friends for many years, Far didn’t dare to truly cross Ye Xuan. If this man got serious, he wouldn’t care about their past friendship.

"What exactly is your purpose for calling me over this time? Is it really just because White Snake is injured?" After being reprimanded, Far’s attitude became noticeably more serious than before. He straightened his posture and asked earnestly.

Three days earlier, Far had received a message from Ye Xuan asking him to make a trip to Jianghai City, but the specifics of what he was supposed to do were never explained. Since the Cyan Dragon Capital had spoken, Far naturally didn’t dare to disobey. He could only push back his scheduled work and personally fly to Jianghai City.

He couldn’t interfere too much in the issues between Far and White Snake. After all, the conflict between those two had existed for many years. "Bell has been gone for so many years now. Can’t the conflict between you two be resolved? If Bell were still alive, she would want you two to reconcile, wouldn’t she?"

Hearing Ye Xuan mention her name, Far’s hands, resting on his lap, couldn’t help but clench into fists. A profound sorrow radiated from him. Bell was Far’s first love and the love of his life, but she had tragically passed away in an accident five years ago. As Bell’s older brother, White Snake had never been able to let it go. He blamed Far for his sister’s death, causing the relationship between the two—who were once as close as brothers—to shatter. If Ye Xuan and the others hadn’t stopped him back then, White Snake would have likely beaten Far to death.

"Do you think I’m the problem? Of course I want to reconcile with White Snake. Otherwise, why would I care so much about his affairs all these years? But White Snake isn’t even willing to see me. How am I supposed to resolve the conflict with him?"

At the thought of this, Far’s brows furrowed tightly together. He was completely at his wits’ end when it came to White Snake. He had tried every possible method over the years. Not only had he failed to earn White Snake’s forgiveness, but their relationship had grown even more strained. Since that was the case, why should he continue asking for trouble?

"Once we get to the hospital, I’ll help talk to him. I need you two to join forces to help me this time in Jianghai City. If you don’t reconcile, my plan can’t be carried out," Ye Xuan frowned and spoke in an even tone.

"I’ll do my best. As for whether the conflict can be resolved, that depends entirely on White Snake’s attitude."

Far let out a heavy breath, a complex expression on his face. After so many years, this would be his first formal meeting with White Snake. In the past, he had always supported White Snake from the shadows, never daring to act openly.

He wondered how White Snake would react upon seeing him.
