Chapter 85: Young Master of Jingcheng

Su Xiaobai watched Fierce Tiger teach Yang Jie a lesson for a while before finally stepping forward to play peacemaker when Yang Jie couldn’t bear the pain any longer.

"That’s enough," he said. "Yang Jie was just acting on impulse and spoke out of turn. We’re all on the same side, so let’s not ruin the harmony."

Hearing this, Fierce Tiger let out a cold snort and released his grip on Yang Jie’s shoulder.

Yang Jie felt as though the entire left side of his body was numb from the pain. He quietly shifted to the side, distancing himself from Fierce Tiger. He didn’t know Fierce Tiger’s background and had initially assumed the man was just Su Xiaobai’s underling. But thinking back on it carefully now, Fierce Tiger was far from simple. More often than not, Fierce Tiger spoke to Su Xiaobai in a commanding tone, and Su Xiaobai even followed his arrangements on many matters. The previous public uproar regarding Yang Bingyu, Ye Xuan, and Lin Aoxue had all been single-handedly orchestrated by Fierce Tiger from behind the scenes.

Seeing Yang Jie’s cowardly display, Su Xiaobai silently mocked him. He thought, "I can’t believe the once infinitely glorious Eldest Young Master Yang has fallen into such a miserable state."

"Let’s go. I’m taking you to meet someone today," Fierce Tiger said, reining in his temper as he stepped into the hotel first.

Su Xiaobai’s pupils shrank slightly, and he closely followed Fierce Tiger. Although Fierce Tiger hadn’t explicitly informed him of the true identity of the person they were meeting today, Su Xiaobai knew this individual hailed from Jingcheng. While the Su Family was a prominent family in Jianghai City, their foundation was not particularly solid; they had only built their fortune beginning with their grandfather’s generation. The families in Jingcheng were entirely different. Many of them were great Noble Families with hundreds of years of heritage. Whether in terms of family lineage or industrial assets, they were far beyond what the Su Family could rival. He knew that if he could build a good relationship with this person today, the future of the Su Group would be limitless.

They made their way to a luxurious private dining room in the hotel.

Two dark-skinned foreign men stood at the door, both sporting sunglasses and black suits. Upon seeing Fierce Tiger, the two men each stepped forward in unison and offered a military salute. They then respectfully opened the door to the private room for him. However, they didn’t even bother to bat an eye at Yang Jie and Su Xiaobai, who trailed behind Fierce Tiger.

In Jianghai City, these two eldest young masters—who had been born with silver spoons in their mouths—had never been slighted like this before. Yang Jie’s entitled temper instantly flared up again, his anger plainly written all over his face. Su Xiaobai, on the other hand, was much shrewder. Though equally displeased, he kept his feelings entirely concealed. He merely cast an extra glance at the two bodyguards, committing their faces to memory. He thought, "Once I become a superior man revered by all of Huaxia, the very first people I’ll make an example of are these two snobbish bodyguards!"

Just inside the entrance of the luxurious private room was a foyer. Beside it stood another pair of bodyguards in black suits, displaying the same haughty, dismissive attitude. On a sofa in a small lounge area to the right of the room sat a mixed-race man in his thirties. He was accompanied by two blonde, blue-eyed exotic beauties who were pulling out all the stops to please him.

Hearing the commotion, the man glanced up toward Fierce Tiger, then smiled and waved him over. "Fierce Tiger, over here."

Fierce Tiger gave a slight nod in acknowledgment and strode toward the man. Su Xiaobai and Yang Jie tried to follow behind him, only to be blocked by the two bodyguards at the foyer.

Yang Jie instantly flew into a rage, stomping his feet and shouting, "Who the hell do you think you are? How dare you block my path!"

Although Su Xiaobai’s expression also turned somewhat ugly, he wasn’t foolish enough to start cursing like Yang Jie. Whether the two bodyguards couldn’t understand Chinese or simply couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to him, they merely did their job of blocking the pair, completely ignoring them otherwise.

Hearing Yang Jie’s angry curses, the man on the sofa furrowed his brows slightly and addressed Fierce Tiger. "Fierce Tiger, your subordinates are quite poorly disciplined."

Fierce Tiger glanced back at Yang Jie and replied flatly, "These two are the eldest young masters of the Yang Family and the Su Family of Jianghai City, Yang Jie and Su Xiaobai. They aren’t my subordinates."

Upon hearing Fierce Tiger’s explanation, the man adopted a look of sudden realization. He gave the two exotic beauties a pat on the rear, signaling them to stand up. Walking over to Yang Jie and Su Xiaobai, he waved off the two bodyguards and smiled, "So it’s Eldest Young Master Yang and Eldest Young Master Su. I’ve heard so much about you. My surname is Xiao; you can call me Young Master Xiao."

Seeing that the man’s attitude was decent, Yang Jie reined in his arrogance a bit, though he still maintained a wildly conceited demeanor. "Hmph, Young Master Xiao, you’d better discipline your subordinates properly." With that, Yang Jie strode over to the sofa and took a seat on his own, his entitled temper acting up once again.

Watching Yang Jie’s self-righteous display, Su Xiaobai scoffed inwardly. He thought, "What an idiot! Young Master Xiao calling us ’eldest young master’ is him showing us respect. This brainless Yang Jie actually takes himself so seriously! The Xiao Family of Jingcheng is one of the top ten Noble Families in Huaxia. The Xiao Group is involved in almost every industry and even holds a considerable share of the underground market. Just one of their branch companies is worth the entire Yang Family’s assets. This Yang Jie really has a death wish."

Caring nothing for whatever fate might await the foolish Yang Jie, Su Xiaobai focused entirely on ingratiating himself. "Young Master Xiao, it is my absolute honor to meet you. I never expected you to be so young. Compared to you, the difference between us is like night and day," he said, kissing up to Young Master Xiao as much as possible.

Everyone loved to be flattered, and Su Xiaobai’s words pleased Young Master Xiao greatly. He patted Su Xiaobai on the shoulder and led him over to the seating area. "You jest, Eldest Young Master Su. For someone as young as you to single-handedly manage such a massive enterprise, you are the one who is truly young and promising. I pale in comparison."

Su Xiaobai didn’t dare accept such high praise and immediately deferred. "You’re far too modest, Young Master Xiao. How could I ever compare to you?"

Watching Su Xiaobai act like such a sycophant, Yang Jie wore a look of utter disdain. He thought, "Tch, some bullshit Young Master Xiao pops out of nowhere and dares to act all high and mighty here, and this Su Xiaobai actually takes him seriously! They say a mighty dragon is no match for a local snake! No matter how badass he is, now that he’s in Jianghai City, doesn’t he still have to call me Eldest Young Master Yang? I really don’t know what Su Xiaobai is so afraid of."

Although Young Master Xiao continuously exchanged pleasantries with Su Xiaobai, he had also been secretly observing Yang Jie all the while. Seeing that Yang Jie held him in such low regard, dissatisfaction gradually welled up in his heart. However, as a scion of a great Noble Family, he possessed a certain level of refinement. He didn’t immediately show his displeasure, instead choosing to turn a blind eye to it for the time being.

The meal lasted for nearly two hours, during which Su Xiaobai spent the entire time buttering up Young Master Xiao. Meanwhile, aside from offering a few toasts at the very beginning, Yang Jie only cared about himself for the rest of the dinner.
