“I wonder what just happened there?
An unexpected visitor?
A stray cat or a rat in the kitchen?” she asked herself as she hurried along.
Once she reached her bedroom, Myrtle shut the door behind herself and locked it, making as little noise as possible.
She walked over to the cupboard where she kept her perfume and jewellery.
“It’s a good thing that I still have this oil here,” she said as she removed the small bottle from behind the others.
“Good that I bought this perfumed oil in India years ago.
It was a splendid idea.
It’s so much more than just a perfume.
It has healing as well as relaxation qualities.
Hopefully it can help Ivan with supernatural vision as well,” she told herself as she closed the wardrobe door.
She wore a hopeful grin on her face at this point.
She kissed the bottle for good luck before unlocking her bedroom door.
When she walked along the downstairs hallway again, Myrtle heard subdued sounds coming from the kitchen.
It seemed as if everyone was just chatting and busy with dinner preparations now.
No drama.
“What on earth could that have been a while ago?” Myrtle wondered as she rushed along.
When she unlocked the door of the nursery a few minutes later, she heaved a sigh of relief to see that Ivan was still there, pacing up and down.
“There was some strange commotion in the kitchen earlier.
I wonder what happened,” Myrtle commented as she walked in.
“A commotion?
Didn’t you go and check?” Ivan asked, frowning at her quizzically.
“No, there was no time.
If I went to sort out a crisis there then I would not have arrived back here in time.
I really want to know who those people in the crystal ball were,” Myrtle responded as she held out the small bottle of oil to Ivan.
He dripped some of it into the water and the room was immediately filled with a strong, but sweet aroma.
The perfume had a heady effect as well while Ivan stirred the water around with the tip of his black stick.
Myrtle found a chair to sit down on so that she wouldn’t fall down.
“Wow, do you know that the man that you saw in your crystal ball is important?
I saw him in the water just now.
Wait a minute,” Ivan commented as he stirred the water and looked into the water again.
“Important?
How?” Myrtle asked, frowning in confusion.
“Very successful and rich,” Ivan responded as he stared more intently into the bowl.
“So, those two she-wolves must be after his money then.
That can be the reason for them fighting over him or on his behalf,” Myrtle commented, narrowing her eyes in speculation.
“Aha, there’s one lady now.
She’s fierce-looking, alright, but she’s also wealthy,” Ivan remarked without looking away from the water.
“Then, could they be fighting for him?” Myrtle mumbled in confusion.
“And there’s the other lady.
She seems to be confused, as if her loyalties are divided,” Ivan remarked with a frown on his brow.
“Oh, between who and who?” Myrtle asked, sitting upright.
“It seems as if she wants something for herself after a certain deal which they are all working on.
But then, she also wants to please this hot tempered lady,” Ivan remarked, shaking his head.
“That’s interesting.
We can use her to cause confusion and division in their little group then,” Myrtle commented with a far-off look in her eyes.
“Oh, there’s your granddaughter, Mishka.
What’s she doing amongst werewolves?” Ivan asked with a confused look in his eyes.
“My granddaughter?
You must be mistaken.
Look carefully.
What can she be doing with werewolves?
I’m not even sure whether she knows that they do exist,” Myrtle remarked with a deep frown between her brows.
“Okay, now she’s friends or an associate of this man who seems to be a business man.
Maybe she sees him in the office at work?” Ivan asked without looking away from the scene in the water.
Mishka working with a businessman?
Isn’t he perhaps a colleague of hers?” Myrtle asked, looking totally confused.
“He’s too rich to be a mere colleague,” Ivan responded.
“Mishka’s rich too,” Myrtle commented.
“But her father owns the company, not this guy.
This guy doesn’t seem to work there.
He seems to have his own assets,” Ivan remarked as he continued to look into the water.
“Then where did they meet?” Myrtle asked, frowning in confusion.
“They must have met somewhere else.
Not the office, but they’re going to make news together.
They’re going to see a lot of each other.
Like business partners, perhaps?” Ivan asked as he glanced at Myrtle quickly.
“Mishka met a wealthy man and they’re gonna do big projects together?” Myrtle muttered to herself, shaking her head.
“Then he must be involved in the music world because that’s where Mishka’s interests lie,” she commented, narrowing her eyes as she tried to understand what Ivan was saying.
“Well, they seem to have a future together alright,” Ivan remarked, rubbing his chin thoughtfully as he stared into the water.
“But he’s a wolf, isn’t he?” Myrtle asked with her eyes big in disbelief.
“Oh, here are some of your staff members now.
They seem to know about Mishka and the wolves.
It seems like they’re discussing her,” Ivan commented, raising his brows in surprise.
“What?
They know about Mishka and the wolf man?” Myrtle asked in disbelief.
“Now I can’t see him anymore, but I see a lot of werewolf youths around Mishka,” Ivan remarked as he stared at the water in fascination.
“Is that where she goes lately?
She’s almost never at the dinner table these days.
But what can she have in common with werewolves?” Myrtle asked, frowning and touching the tip of her nose with her forefinger as she tried to focus.
“But, you say that the staff here know about it?
Is that perhaps the reason for the commotion that I heard in the kitchen?” Myrtle asked, sitting forwards on the chair.
“The servants might know whom she’s seeing, but I must say that I don’t want her to be involved with that werewolf guy.
Even if it’s just for business,” Myrtle commented further.
She then pursed her lips together in a straight, firm line.
“Well, I don’t know if your staff members know any werewolves personally.
You would have sensed it if they did.
They do know about Mishka’s involvement with werewolves, though,” Ivan remarked, speaking from his instincts.
“Then they will know where Mishka is right now,” Myrtle responded, rising from the chair that she was sitting on.
“Wait, you can’t just go and ask them,” Ivan responded.
“It might look stupid if you questioned them too early,” he added with a speculative look in his eyes.
He seemed to be trying to figure out the best strategy for Myrtle.
“I don’t care how it looks.
They must tell me everything that they do know about Mishka and the werewolves,” Myrtle responded, staring at Ivan with a determined look in her eyes.
