“A new god has been born, and the council has been gathered.”

A sharp clang echoed in space, like a hammer against steel, coming from nowhere and everywhere.

“And this supposed New God’s name?”

“The sounds are still forming in the Aither. The humans have not yet begun to sing his songs.”

“And His realm?”

“A similar situation. He does not yet long for a home.”

“This is troublesome.”

“Indeed. The origins of this God complicates things.”

“How so?”

A pause.

“He was once human. He may believe his home is among the Living, in their house called Teras.”

“What is He a god of?”

“He was created out of vengeance. Revenge.”

“Ha! Look at Ayvor’s face! You two will bicker over what chaos to cause, no doubt.”

“Quiet, Serpent.”

“If He causes chaos unbound, the realms will be shifted.”

“Vafir, Lord of Chaos and Control, is correct.”

“And if the realms are shifted...”

A long silence. There were no storms, no clouds, as the Gods passed Their thoughts between each other. Finally, a lone voice spoke.

“Odingr, Forina. King and Queen of the Living Realm. What do you proclaim?”

And They all waited. Finally, after many moons and suns had passed overhead, They received Their answer.

“A new era.”
