Chapter 61: The Blood General’s Might!

Chen Chong swept his gaze across the scene. The first thing he saw was Tie Shan’s strong figure appearing on the street.

Tie Shan now held two sharp short axes with long chains trailing from their handles. He charged forward like a frenzied giant beast, rushing to meet a Wing-claw Stone Vulture that was diving straight for him. The path behind him kicked up a huge cloud of dust, a testament to his ferocious momentum!

Whoosh!

With a savage grin, Tie Shan hurled the short axe from his hand. The axe blade viciously sliced through the air. Driven by Tie Shan’s brute and monstrous strength, the short axe plunged into the chest and belly of the diving Wing-claw Stone Vulture with lightning speed, then burst out from its back. It had ripped the creature open and pierced straight through its body!

“Scree!”

The Wing-claw Stone Vulture let out a sharp, miserable cry and crashed down several meters in front of Tie Shan. Its wings flapped desperately, and its sharp talons gouged deep trails into the ground. But Tie Shan merely let out a wild laugh. Gripping the chain with one arm, he yanked hard. The axe embedded in the creature hooked it, and the calf-sized Wing-claw Stone Vulture was dragged over like a broken rag doll.

Squelch!

Tie Shan swung his axe sideways. With his immense strength, he cleaved the struggling Wing-claw Stone Vulture in two in a single stroke. Organs splattered across the ground, and foul-smelling blood sprayed onto his face. Yet he just wiped his face with a savage motion and roared toward the sky with wild excitement:

“Hahahaha, come on! You feathered beasts, let me kill enough of you!”

Seeing this scene, Chen Chong’s mind stirred. Judging by the power of that single axe throw, which directly pierced the Wing-claw Stone Vulture mid-air, Tie Shan’s strength, or rather his overall power, was clearly superior to that of other Awakeners.

“Every one of these Awakeners has a few tricks up their sleeve. So, just how strong must the Blood General be, the one who can completely subdue them?”

Without lingering his attention on Tie Shan, Chen Chong quickly scanned the area and soon found the Blood General on the path Tie Shan had charged down.

At that moment, the road was a complete mess, yet the Blood General appeared with his hands behind his back, strolling forward leisurely, as if wandering through a peaceful garden. The guards scattered in various positions fired at the sky while letting out excited howls, as if greeting their king.

“Scree—!”

A loud, resonant cry pierced the sky, seeming to act as an urging signal. By now, nearly half of the Wing-claw Stone Vultures in the sky had been reduced. Besides the ones tearing at their captured prey in the air, a few others seemed not to have caught their own prey yet. They continued to circle mid-air, screeching with restlessness and unwillingness, searching for an opportunity.

And now, the Blood General, walking leisurely onto the main road in his conspicuous blood-red military uniform, instantly became the target of several Wing-claw Stone Vultures!

“Scree!”

With sharp cries, four Wing-claw Stone Vultures, spurred by the scent of blood in the air, could no longer hold back. They let out excited screeches, spread their wings that spanned a full four meters in width, extended their iron-hook-like talons, and dove fiercely toward the Blood General in the open ground!

“You beasts, all of you deserve to die.”

As foul winds gusted around him, facing the Wing-claw Stone Vultures attacking from different directions, the Blood General slowly raised his head from the ground. His sinister face was filled with cruel laughter:

“Because… what you are destroying and plundering… is my property!”

Bang!

The Blood General stomped down hard. Tremendous power erupted, causing the soil and stone beneath his feet to explode with a boom. His figure vanished from the spot amidst the flying debris! The guards nearby only saw him disappear, but Chen Chong in the distance clearly saw that the Blood General had shot into the sky like a cannonball, leaping over ten meters high. In the blink of an eye, he was already beneath the first diving monstrous bird!

Then Chen Chong saw that, in that split second, the Blood General, having leaped over ten meters into the air, thrust both hands out like lightning and instantly seized the outstretched talons of the monstrous bird. He let out a maniacal laugh, flexed his arms, and tore!

Riiip! It was as if what he tore apart in his hands wasn’t a body of flesh and blood but a thin sheet of paper. The calf-sized body of the Wing-claw Stone Vulture was directly ripped in two from the middle! Blood and internal organs exploded in the air, drifting down with the wind!

Boom!

In the next instant, with a tremor, the Blood General landed steadily on the roof of a low building, holding the two halves of the corpse. The other three Wing-claw Stone Vultures diving from different directions didn’t even have time to react and change course before they saw the Blood General crouch, step forward, and hurl both halves of the corpse from his hands. He flung them with savage force, like throwing concealed weapons!

Bang! Bang!

In the next instant, no one knew how much power the Blood General had put into those throws. The two mangled remains shot forth with intensely howling wind and smashed accurately into two other Wing-claw Stone Vultures still over ten meters from the ground. The impact instantly snapped their wings, and they plummeted to the earth as if struck by a speeding car!

The two Wing-claw Stone Vultures let out pitiful screeches and struggled madly on the ground. However, the Blood General didn’t even glance at them. He lifted his gaze to scan the last Wing-claw Stone Vulture ten meters away in mid-air, desperately flapping its wings in a panic to fly higher. He hooked his foot and kicked, and instantly, over ten fist-sized pieces of rubble shot out like hidden weapons, slicing through the air with piercing shrieks!

Thud! Thud! Thud!

The pieces of rubble exploded upon hitting the last Wing-claw Stone Vulture. Its wings were instantly severely damaged by the flying stones. With a miserable cry, the Wing-claw Stone Vulture swayed and crashed to the ground, thrashing and struggling just as desperately.

By this point, all four Wing-claw Stone Vultures that had attacked the Blood General had been downed. The whole process had taken no more than ten seconds.

In mere seconds, he had casually downed four Wing-claw Stone Vultures. The Blood General’s superhuman strength and brutal combat skills were displayed to the fullest!

Chen Chong watched without blinking, his eyes fixed on the distant figure of the Blood General, his mind rapidly processing the scene he had just witnessed.

“The General is mighty!”

“The General is still the greatest!”

“I told you, once the General arrived, these beasts wouldn’t have their way!”

Cheers and flattery erupted like a landslide and tidal wave. Guards from all directions swarmed out, concentrating their fire to turn the three still-alive Wing-claw Stone Vultures on the ground into sieves.

Seemingly very satisfied with the martial might and prestige he had demonstrated, the Blood General smiled slightly and raised his head to look at the sky.

By now, this hunting feast seemed to be coming to an end. The death toll of Wing-claw Stone Vultures was approaching half. Faced with such heavy casualties, a particularly loud screech rang out. The just over twenty remaining Wing-claw Stone Vultures in the air, already having eaten and drunk their fill, turned away without any hesitation and flew off in the direction they had come from.

The disheartened and disgraced underlings on the ground felt a collective wave of relief and immediately burst into cheers. Meanwhile, figures like Tie Shan, Gu Jun, and Yin Hu rapidly led their men to gather below the building where the Blood General stood.

“Those beasts are truly a headache…”

Standing at the height, the Blood General scanned the situation in his Territory, and his mood instantly soured. He lowered his head and ordered:

“Tie Shan, all of you, immediately compile a damage report for the Territory. Include worker casualties and the damage to the factory. I want to see it tonight!”

Tie Shan and the other Awakeners answered in unison:

“Yes, sir!”

…

At that very moment, still standing in the turret, Chen Chong stared intently at the distant movements. Replaying the Blood General’s intimidating strength and combat skills in his mind, his heart was far from calm.

The power displayed by the Blood General was truly far beyond that of any Awakener present. And this likely wasn’t even the full extent of his abilities. The gap between Chen Chong and him remained immense.

“It seems… I’ll need to adjust the plan a little…”

With a gaze that was calm yet flickered with urgency and madness, Chen Chong raised his hand and gently clenched his fist. A certain intention seemed to have formed in his mind.
