Chapter 86: Conditions
Chapter 86: Conditions
Steward Li did not dare to slight Chen Chong, the new leader who had taken the Blood General’s place. He immediately led the way through the courtyard corridors to a cellar behind the mansion, then descended the steps and unlocked the cellar’s iron door with a key.
Chen Chong stepped into the storage room first, and a blast of cold air hit his face.
Steward Li quickly explained, “Leader, we use saltpeter to make ice here, lowering the temperature to aid storage. Aside from what has already been distributed, all the estate’s supplies are here.”
Chen Chong nodded and looked around. The storage room was not small, covering an area of about a hundred square meters, and it was divided into several compartments, all crammed full of various supplies.
Chen Chong walked in, his gaze sweeping across.
Vegetables, fruits, flour, liquor, large quantities of meat… all kinds of abundant supplies, sorted and arranged. They were enough to make any survivor’s eyes gleam green and go wild with joy!
But Chen Chong’s focus was not on these things. Bypassing them, he went to the innermost room of the storage room, and his eyes immediately lit up.
This room seemed rather empty, with only a few baskets placed inside, most of which were empty. However, Chen Chong saw one basket filled with longan-sized fruits, exquisitely shaped, emitting a refreshing and delightful fragrance that made one drool.
They were exactly Spirit Energy Fruits.
Chen Chong made just a rough count. The basket held about a hundred catties, at least two to three hundred fruits!
Chen Chong’s eyes were full of delight, but he remained composed on the surface. He turned his head and asked, “Is this all there is for the Spiritual Fruits?”
Steward Li hurriedly said, “Leader, these Spiritual Fruits were all reserved exclusively for the Blood General. He consumed nearly ten catties every day. This is all that’s left for this month.”
Chen Chong nodded with satisfaction. His appetite had grown larger and larger lately. For a long time, he had been in a state of hunger and undernourishment. He could not endure the Electrotherapy cultivation for long, so most of the time, he still had to rely on step-by-step training and tempering. Now that he had replaced the Blood General, with ample food and Spiritual Fruits as supplies, his cultivation speed would surely begin to skyrocket!
“I’m hungry. Tell the kitchen to prepare a feast for me immediately. It must be hearty, the kind that can fill me up!”
Thinking of this and feeling the hunger in his stomach, Chen Chong grabbed the basket filled with Spiritual Fruits and laughed heartily:
“I remember seeing a dog tied up when I came in. Was that the Blood General’s? Butcher it for me too!”
…
As Chen Chong gave his orders, the chefs, eager to perform before the new leader, used every skill they had. Their efficiency was astonishing. In less than half an hour, servants quickly carried trays to the dining room, setting more than a dozen steaming, aromatic dishes on the table before Chen Chong. Most of them were meat. Especially the large pot in the center of the table, where big chunks of tenderly stewed dog meat rolled in the thick broth, releasing a rich aroma that whetted the appetite intensely.
A bite of stewed dog meat, even an immortal would waver. Chen Chong, who had never eaten his fill since arriving at the Territory, could no longer hold back. He immediately fished a hind leg out of the pot and, in a few bites, tore off the stewed-tender meat, chewed, and swallowed it. Then he casually picked up a plate of grilled, greasy ribs, tipped it straight into his mouth, not even spitting out the bones but chewing them to pieces with his teeth and swallowing.
Then, under the fearful, attending watch of the servants, Chen Chong demonstrated what it meant to be a glutton, a big eater. In just a few minutes, the entire pot of dog meat was cleaned out by him, with not even a few mouthfuls of soup left. The remaining grilled meats and such vanished from the table at a speed visible to the naked eye, like a whirlwind sweeping away clouds.
A tableful of sumptuous food, enough for seven or eight people to eat and drink their fill, was completely cleared away by Chen Chong in less than twenty minutes!
All the servants standing by felt sheer terror.
“Huff…”
Finally feeling the long-unfamiliar sensation of fullness in his stomach, Chen Chong leaned back in his chair and let out a long sigh. The strength of his body’s digestion had now reached an inhuman level. Although he was full now, the moment he activated the [Ultimate Infinite Qigong] to perform Refining Essence into Qi, he would soon return to a state of hunger.
But now, with the resources of the entire Territory supplying him, he no longer needed to worry about food.
Bang bang bang… bang bang bang…
At that moment, the faint sound of banging on a door came from upstairs, making Chen Chong lift his eyelids.
Steward Li quickly ran upstairs to check. After a moment, he came back down, leaned close to Chen Chong’s ear, and said cautiously, “Leader, it’s those four women locked upstairs. One of them is clamoring to see you, saying she has a secret about the Blood General to tell you.”
“Oh?”
Chen Chong’s eyebrows twitched. His tall, powerful frame rose from the chair.
“Then let’s go take a look.”
Steward Li, assuming Chen Chong’s appetite for food and warmth had stirred other desires, tactfully did not follow him upstairs. Chen Chong did not mind either. He climbed to the second floor alone and opened the door to the room where the four women were confined.
“You want to see me?”
Chen Chong’s figure blocked the doorway. His gaze swept across them.
“Who said she has a secret about the Blood General to tell me?”
The trembling, fearful scene he had imagined did not happen. After he opened the door, the four scantily clad women, revealing large areas of snow-white skin, stood in a row together. Instead, their eyes were hazy, looking straight at him with a particularly bold gaze. It seemed they had completely accepted the fact of the Blood General’s death and replacement, and had given rise to other thoughts.
“Leader, it was me.” Among the four, a particularly alluring woman stepped forward, her chest trembling. She bit her lip lightly and said, “I know a small secret of the Blood General and can tell you.”
“Oh? What’s your name?” Sensing the atmosphere in the room was a bit strange, Chen Chong frowned and said impatiently, “What is this secret?”
“My name is Li Yun.”
The woman calling herself Li Yun had a graceful figure. Her snow-white body gave off a seductive luster, and the scenery faintly revealed was truly breathtaking. She bravely said,
“As long as the Leader agrees to one condition of mine, I will tell you!”
“You are Li Yun? The one who cuckolded Li Bao?”
Immediately recalling this name, Chen Chong’s face showed undisguised mockery, as if watching an ant trying to bargain with an elephant. He sneered,
“I’d like to know, what condition can you possibly propose?”
Chen Chong remembered the name Li Yun from the interrogation assembly, where the Blood General used her as Li Bao’s motive for killing Yin Hu. Although he did not know much about this story full of infidelity, Chen Chong could see this Li Yun was no good person. But now that the mansion had changed owners and the Blood General had died at his hands, he was very curious why Li Yun had the guts to propose a condition to him. Who gave her the courage?
“Fuck me!”
But at that moment, staring intently at Chen Chong’s tall and mighty body, an excited flush suddenly appeared on Li Yun’s alluring face. She licked her lips lightly and said,
“Fuck me. As long as Leader does us here, I will tell you this little secret!”
Chen Chong’s face instantly stiffened, and his facial muscles could not help but twitch.
