Chapter 334 – Naval Review

On August 25, 1933, Showa 8, the Imperial Japanese Navy’s Grand Fleet Naval Review Exercise was held off the coast of Yokohama.

Participating in it were 161 vessels and 200 aircraft. The combined displacement of the participating ships reached approximately 850,000 tons.

The only nations in the world possessing navies larger than this were the British Empire and the United States of America. It was a major event conducted by the Empire of Japan, one of the world’s three great naval powers.
