“Next is around here.”

“Understood.”

“Then which direction should we head next?”

We exchanged such matter of fact words while flying through the sky. We were aboard a Kawanishi built seaplane that had been loaded onto the ship. It was a three seater, with the pilot, me, and Edward, who was in charge of recording, aboard.

Another seaplane was flying alongside us nearby, likewise fitted with three floats of different sizes. A more specialized recorder was aboard that aircraft. Edward’s role was also to make a general record himself, but more importantly, to relay the locations I pointed out to the specialists aboard the other seaplane.

“We’re finished around here, so fly north next. The direction is this way.”

“Understood, young lady. We will head there as soon as the recording is complete.”
