Chapter 125: The Divine Court’s Saintess

Isavel did not kill Eldrin because she wanted to find the way to the Divine Court through him.

As for Eldrin’s resistance…

As a weak and feeble soul, there was no way he could resist Isavel, who held him in her grasp.

However, the Abyssal Ancient Battlefield was vast.

Even with Eldrin’s guidance, they did not know when they would reach the center of the Ancient Battlefield to find the Divine Court.

Because of this, they trained themselves against demons while searching for the Divine Court.

Shortly after, the Rose Knights collectively reached Level 80.

……

In a corner of the Ancient Battlefield, fierce winds whirled crimson sand against silver armor, creating a dense pitter-patter sound.

Broken weapons and the skeletons of giant demons lay scattered across the ground. In the distance, dark red lightning occasionally streaked across the twisted sky.

A certain Order of Knights was marching with difficulty through this land of death.

A diamond formation of more than thirty people cut through the heavy Abyssal mist, their flag—a symbol of their will—fluttering in the wind.

Suddenly, the scouting Knight at the very front pulled the reins tight.

“On guard!”

The moment the warning fell, the ground 100 meters ahead suddenly bulged!

Crimson soil erupted into the sky like a fountain as a massive creature burst from the earth.

It was a Demigod-level demon that looked much like a dragon.

It was over 30 meters long, and its body was cobbled together from the bones of countless creatures, with crimson flames burning at its joints.

Its head was the product of three different dragon skulls twisted and fused together, with ghostly green soul fires burning within its six eye sockets.

“Finally…”

The demon’s three heads spoke simultaneously, their voices overlapping like the grinding of metal, carrying a long-suppressed ecstasy.

“Finally, I have caught an opportunity! You crawling insects will surely die today!”

Its middle head suddenly lowered, its six hollow eyes locking onto the flag embroidered with the Goddess at the center of the Order of Knights.

Then, it unleashed an Acidic Breath composed of bone slurry and corrosive green flames!

Facing the Acidic Breath and this Demigod-level demon, not a single person in the Order of Knights, whose average level was only Level 70, retreated.

At the center of the formation, the Knight Commander, clad in heavy armor, suddenly spurred her horse forward.

“Hmph! Do you think we would be afraid of you just because the priest isn’t here?!”

She slammed her greatsword into the ground before her, and flames flared up into a wall of light.

Then, the Knights behind her chanted Magic, forcing the wall to hold firm against the Acidic Breath.

A moment later, the Knight Commander took a deep breath and raised her left hand.

“Formation!”

As the words fell, the more than thirty Knights moved instantly. A massive Magic Circle was completed in an instant.

Subsequently, they all drew the longswords at their waists and pointed them toward the sky.

“Array activation!”

With the surge of Magic, an extremely complex magic array diagram instantly expanded across the ground with them as the center!

Simultaneously, all the power converged toward the Knight Commander at the front.

This was not a simple energy transfer, but something more like sharing; the Knight Commander’s Magic Level leaped from Level 70 to over Level 90.

The flames on her two-handed greatsword turned from white to blazing gold, and the blade automatically extended, transforming into a 2-meter-long Light-forged Greatsword.

From beneath her helmet, her eyes burst with tangible light, and visible ripples of energy began to radiate from her body.

The ground cracked beneath her feet. After adapting to this power, she leaped into the air, wielding the two-handed greatsword as she attacked the demon!

Sensing something was wrong, the demon’s three heads let out angry roars. Its massive body charged forward, its bone wings whipping up a hurricane.

But it was already too late.

The Knight Commander looked up, and a silver sword light streaked across the demon’s body like a meteor. Before the creature could react, she had already passed it.

An emotion known as fear appeared within the demon’s six eyes. It wanted to retreat, to flap its wings and escape, but it could not control its own body at all.

Because from the moment the greatsword fell, it was already dead.

The demon’s massive body split in two along the path of the sword light.

The two halves of its body collapsed to either side, and by the time they hit the ground, they had already turned into two massive piles of bone ash that scattered in the wind.

After killing it, the greatsword in the Knight Commander’s hand gradually dimmed, returning to its original form.

The Demigod pressure around her receded like a tide, and while her face was slightly pale, her back remained straight.

The Knights behind her maintained their formation. Although every face showed the exhaustion of overexertion, their eyes were indifferent. After all, they were already used to such things.

This Combined Combat Technique was the trump card of their Divine Court. Even if another Demigod-level demon appeared, they could still slay it.

On the wasteland, the wind continued to blow.

The Order of Knights reorganized their formation, and the sound of hoofbeats rang out again.

However, they had not gone far this time when the Knight Commander placed her hand on the hilt of the sword at her waist, looking at the group of young women who had appeared in her line of sight.

Her gaze swept over Isavel and the Rose Knights behind her, finally landing back on Isavel. Her brow furrowed slightly—not out of hostility, but a form of scrutiny.

“Who are you?” she asked, her voice clear and direct.

Isavel, who had taken in the previous scene, stepped forward.

She looked at the flag in the center of the Order of Knights and said, “We come from outside the Ancient Battlefield. We are here for the Divine Court.”

Hearing that they came from outside the Ancient Battlefield, a glint of light appeared in Knight Commander Sana’s eyes.

She did not answer immediately but carefully scrutinized Isavel, especially her face.

Soon, she released her grip on her sword and made a concise gesture.

“Follow me.”

She turned her horse around and said to Isavel, “We are the Knights of the Divine Court.”

The answer was too direct, even lacking necessary caution.

Leanna’s brow twitched, seemingly unwilling to believe it, while Teresa narrowed her eyes to prevent them from being demons disguised as humans.

Even though they had seen them slay the demon earlier, who could be certain that it wasn’t a facade intentionally created to ambush them?

Demons were, after all, incredibly cunning.

Isavel, however, followed directly. “You trust us just like that?”

Sana did not look back, but her voice came through clearly. “Of course.”

“The methods of the Divine Court are profound and mysterious. I can see through whether you are demons in disguise with a single glance.”

She paused, her gaze sweeping carefully over Isavel, and her nostrils flared imperceptibly. Then, her expression became subtle.

It seemed to be a mix of nostalgia, regret, and a bit of mockery.

This sentence caused the atmosphere to tighten instantly.

The members of the Rose Knights entered a combat state almost simultaneously.

The sound of weapons being unsheathed rang out, and Magic light began to gather between Teresa’s fingers.

They would not forget that the moment Eldrin was captured, he said the Divine Court would also not allow them to destroy the Ancient Battlefield.

They and the Divine Court were likely enemies as well.

Seeing this, Sana merely waved her hand, signaling for her own Knights not to be nervous.

“You are so tense. I imagine Eldrin must have made a move against you to prevent you from ending this Ancient Battlefield?”

She let out a soft hmph, her voice filled with disdain.

“Hmph, we saw through his true intentions, which is why we drove him out of the Divine Court. After all, we are different from him.”

She clenched her hand into a fist and lightly tapped her breastplate, producing a crisp metallic clang.

“What our hearts lean toward has always been humanity—the humans who are truly alive. No matter how many years pass, this has never changed.”

After saying this, Sana spoke no more.

“Keep up. The Divine Court is just ahead.”

Without further conversation, the group soon arrived at an area completely shrouded by The Storm under Sana’s lead.

The Storm appeared as a cylindrical shape with a diameter of over 20 miles, connecting the heavens to the earth.

Any demon or human who tried to force their way through would be sucked into the gale and torn into bloody water.

However, it was not naturally formed.

“This is The Storm—the eternal barrier formed by the power remnants of the Goddess’s final battle with the Evil Dragon all those years ago. It is also the only path to the Divine Court.”

Sana looked at the wind wall with awe in her eyes. Then, she dismounted and took out a token from her robe, which was carved with a Goddess Statue.

“The Storm only opens for humans holding the Token of the Goddess.”

As she spoke, Sana held the token high, and it began to emit a soft silver light.

The moment the silver light touched the wind wall, a passage wide enough for only three people abreast appeared within the swirling silver-white currents.

The storm inside the passage still roared, but the path was clearly visible, leading directly into the unknown depths of the storm.

“Now, let us proceed to the Divine Court.”

Sana led her Order of Knights into it first. After studying the passage for a few moments, Isavel followed closely behind, and the Rose Knights did the same.

When the last person entered the passage, the storm closed up again, transforming back into an impassable wall of wind.

After passing through the storm’s passage, the scene before them suddenly opened up.

Behind the storm was not a place filled with chaos, but a sacred domain suspended in the void.

Dozens of pure white halls floated in a soft golden halo as if weightless.

The halls were connected by glowing rainbow bridges, and the ground was like a clean lake surface that rippled faintly when stepped upon.

The air was filled with a delicate fragrance. With just a single sniff, it felt as though Magic was pouring into the body, making one feel exceptionally refreshed.

If the Abyss was the territory of the Abyssal Dragon, then this place should be the territory of the Goddess.

The main hall in the center was 100 feet tall, and a massive crystal floated at its peak, sealing within it a wisp of eternally burning Silver Flame.

Knight Commander Sana led Isavel’s group onto the rainbow bridge leading to the main hall.

The doors of the main hall were carved from a single piece of moonstone, and the door leaves were etched with scenes that even Isavel could not understand, though they were all related to the Goddess.

Arriving before the doors, Sana knelt on one knee, pressed her right hand to the left side of her chest, and reported to the inside of the hall in a clear voice, “Lady Saintess, I have brought those mentioned in the Oracle!”

The doors opened silently.

The interior of the main hall was even vaster than it looked from the outside. The space seemed to have been expanded by some kind of space magic.

Twelve massive angel statues stood on either side of the hall, each holding a different Artifact.

A star map flowed across the ceiling, the positions of the stars starkly different from those in the physical world.

On a high platform deep within the hall, a figure slowly stood up.

It was a woman who looked to be in her twenties, clad in a pure white holy robe with gold trim. The hem of the robe trailed across the clean floor.

She had rare platinum blonde hair tied behind her head with a simple silver ring, revealing a clean forehead and a pair of golden eyes.

A faint golden sacred mark rested between her brows.

She walked down from the high platform, her holy robe making a slight silk-on-silk rustling sound as it brushed against the steps.

Her gaze locked onto Isavel immediately. A somewhat complex light flickered in her golden eyes, appearing excited, yet also respectful and relieved.

“I presume,” she said as she arrived before them, her voice ethereal and soft, “that you are the Saintess of the Oracle Hall, Lady Isavel.”
