Chapter 96 - 95: Guided Healing Method

"It’s fine. I will look at my brother’s remains first, and then we can discuss your daughter’s treatment in detail," the Head of the Stone Family said, waving his hand gently. Doctor Jenkins hurriedly took out the sealed bag stored inside the Space Button.

Brandon Stone opened the sealed bag. With trembling hands, he gently stroked the top of the skeleton’s skull as countless green threads of energy slowly poured into it.

The next second, large teardrops began to fall from his eyes.

"Yes, this is my brother’s skeleton!" The Head of the Stone Family, a man who normally wouldn’t bat an eye even if the sky fell, began to sob, crying like a child.

In truth, from the day the bio-chip monitoring system detected his brother’s vitals dropping to zero, he had known his brother had already left this world. However, as long as he hadn’t seen the corpse with his own eyes, he had refused to accept the outcome.

For years, he had clung to a sliver of hope that perhaps his brother was merely trapped in some place that blocked all signals. He had hoped that one day, his brother would suddenly appear before him and smile, saying, "Brother, I succeeded!"

It wasn’t until this very moment, when he personally used his Ability to sense the residual Ability of their shared bloodline lingering within these bones, that reality truly set in. He didn’t even need a DNA test; he could confirm with absolute certainty that this was his brother’s skeleton.

Because they were identical twins, they had shared a telepathic connection since childhood, and they had awakened the same Ability on the exact same day. They both possessed the Wood Ability. The only difference was that his was the Healing Element branch, while his brother could communicate seamlessly with plants.

Compared to his Healing Element, his brother’s Ability was truly heaven-defying. His brother had known the properties of plants like the back of his hand, which was exactly how he had been able to concoct the Genetic Potion capable of stimulating human potential. If his experimental results had been perfected to the point of mass production, the number of Ability users on this planet would have increased by at least ten percent.

Yet, such a remarkable Master of Potions had been brutally murdered in this remote, desolate corner!

Brandon could no longer deceive himself into believing his brother was still alive. At this moment, he was entirely engulfed by a piercing, bone-deep agony that made it hard to even breathe.

Fifteen minutes later, the Family Head finally calmed his emotions. The sorrow remained, but he had tucked it away deep in his heart. Wiping away his tears, he reached out to accept the necklace Sev Steele handed to him, gently rubbing away non-existent dust from its surface. It was just like when they were kids, and he would often wipe away the sweat and dirt his brother got on his face from being mischievous.

This process lasted a full five minutes before he finally used his mind to connect with the pendant. The next second, a black notebook appeared out of thin air in his palm.

Sev and Doctor Jenkins both widened their eyes. As it turned out, he was the heir Arvin Stone had designated for his Space Button.

Thinking about it, it wasn’t surprising. Brandon and Arvin were twins, and judging by his profound grief when confirming his brother’s remains, it was easy to see the two brothers had shared an exceptionally close bond since childhood. In the Wasteland Era, there were very few people one could trust completely. It made perfect sense for Arvin to choose his twin brother as the inheritor of his Space Button.

Brandon quickly flipped the diary to the last page with written entries. After just a few glances, his face darkened.

"Heh, so you are the one who backstabbed Arvin. Are you prepared to face my wrath?" His voice turned gloomy and chilling, like the Grim Reaper ascending from hell.

The atmosphere became extremely oppressive, making Sev feel as though it were hard to breathe. She had always thought that people with the Healing Element would definitely be like rays of sunshine, warming everything around them wherever they went. But the man before her was colder than the Ice Element and more suffocating than a swamp. Had they not been in mid-air, she would have turned around and fled right then and there.

Three minutes later, the gloomy, chilling aura surrounding the man gradually dissipated, replaced by the elegant and gentle demeanor he had shown when they first met.

His gaze fell onto Rose, who was held in Sev’s arms, and a cluster of green light gently enveloped the child. Even Sev, who was holding her, felt a warm sensation wash over her body. This warmth wasn’t just physical heat; it was a comforting sensation, like basking in a warm spring breeze.

Sev wondered if this was the true nature of the Healing Element.

The green light lingered on Rose for a full five minutes. Sev could clearly feel that the complexion of the little girl in her arms had improved, and her brows had relaxed significantly.

In her deep slumber, Rose felt as if she had once again entered the forest she had visited many times in her dreams. Only this time, aside from the lush plants in the forest, there was also a spring bubbling with flowing green light.

Excited, she ran over on her short little legs—PATTER PATTER—and scooped up the green light from the spring, wanting to pop it into her mouth. But the green light was as slippery as an eel, swiftly escaping from her lips. However, the lights didn’t flee far; instead, they swirled around her in a playful dance.

"You little rascals! If you won’t let me eat you, then play with me for a while!"

Rose wasn’t angry at all, because she could feel the goodwill they were emitting toward her. She began to loosely cup the green lights with her small hands, squishing them flat and rolling them round. An image of the adorable little avatar her mother had knitted—the one that looked just like her—popped into her mind.

Without realizing it, she used the green light to mold an adorable avatar of her mother. Her mother, with her chubby little face, was just too cute!

Rose looked left and right, still feeling like something was missing. Then, she molded her mother’s body—a chubby little body with short legs, short arms, and a perfectly round belly. She wanted her mother to eat her fill every single day, stuffing her tummy until it was as round as a ball.

Once the little mother figure was created, Rose pulled her along to run and jump around. When she got tired of running, she pulled the little mother figure over to play Rock-Paper-Scissors. It was a very simple game, and also the only game Rose knew how to play. In the past, whenever she was sick and her mother had to go out, her eldest brother would sneak away to play it with her so she could forget her discomfort.

Now, playing it with the little mother figure, she simply couldn’t stop.

But after playing for a short while, she noticed many cracks appearing in the little mother figure’s body. The figure frowned, looking as though she were in great pain.

Rose began catching the surrounding green lights and slowly injecting them into the little mother figure’s body, mending the cracks one by one. The process was exhausting. She felt like she was about to faint, much like the feeling she used to get when she was starving.

Fortunately, the spring started bubbling with green light again. The moment she leaned in, the green lights began swirling around her once more. She felt her strength return and continued repairing the cracks inside the little mother figure’s body.

Finally, all the cracks were mended. Rose let out a long sigh of relief, collapsed beside the spring, and fell asleep instantly.

In reality, Sev watched as her youngest daughter’s complexion gradually grew rosy, a hint of a smile touching the corners of the child’s eyes and brows. Although she didn’t understand the healing process, she could clearly tell that her daughter was truly getting better bit by bit.

She looked up, gazing gratefully at Brandon, who was continuously channeling green light into Rose’s body.

He maintained his intense focus on the process. After two whole hours had passed, he finally stopped the output of energy. The little girl in Sev’s arms was still fast asleep, but her breathing was no longer weak. It was clearly a normal, healthy sleep now, rather than a comatose state.

"Head of the Stone Family, your immense kindness is engraved in my heart. If I have the chance in the future, I will definitely repay you," Sev said, bowing deeply while holding Rose.

"You actually don’t need to thank me. I only used a guided Healing Technique," Brandon said, his eyes filled with approval. "Because my Power Level is too high, she wouldn’t be able to withstand it at all. I could only guide her, extracting a minuscule portion of my Ability and converting it into her own Ability to repair her injuries. The one who truly repaired the trauma to her energy channels was herself."

Seeing that she didn’t quite understand, he added, "I guided her to manifest the most important illusion in her heart. This illusion could be herself, someone else, an animal, a plant, or even an inanimate object. And the illusion she manifested was you—her mother. In a person’s subconscious, they will do whatever it takes to protect the illusion that is most important to them. I used the illusion to replace her own body. When she saw the illusion damaged, she stimulated her own potential and desperately repaired it. Ultimately, she completed the repair of the illusion, and in doing so, completed the healing of herself."
