Esper X Family – Chapter 613 – Invasion of Privacy!

Under Ye Yao’s “voyeuristic” gaze, the staff members operated with fierce intensity.

Though she couldn’t understand their language, she could more or less guess what they were doing.

“Surface civilization activity is evident, with an initial assessment placing their technology at a nascent stage. We can detect receivable signal waves, suggesting that their information channels may not be backward… but the most anomalous thing is this.”

One staff member pointed to the wildly fluctuating graph of ambient mental power concentration beside him.

“This value even surpasses the homeworlds of some civilizations that have been developed for over ten thousand years. This is not normal.”

Ye Yao had no idea just how big a stir she had caused.

Based on the Watcher Civilization’s observations across numerous cases, at least up to now, they had yet to find a habitable planet with such abundant, perhaps even excessive ambient mental power.

The reason was simple: they had observed countless civilizations, and encounters that bolstered their sociology by +3 were commonplace.

Their own homeworld’s metrics all fell within average parameters.

Only this planet’s data was too anomalous, as if it were a cradle nurturing some kind of sacred treasure.

And the Watcher Civilization had only been able to further elevate their homeworld’s environment after experiencing a technological explosion of their own.

A civilization that developed under such conditions would only advance at breakneck speed.

Yet, this civilization did not possess any representative megastructure of its own.

The whole picture felt deeply unsettling.

“Begin Phase One information collection.”

White Comet commanded.

Although this civilization’s technological level was far behind that of the Watcher Civilization, at least it had developed electronic information channels.

That would make it much more convenient for them to acquire information about this civilization.

“Activate the【Myriad Analysis】protocol and access their global electronic network.

Prioritize cracking their natural language system, then move on to historical archives, social structure data, and records of recent major events.

Note: only perform passive reception and decryption. Do not leave any trace of active probing. Do not trigger any defensive mechanisms.”

“Understood. Activating【Myriad Analysis】.”

Invisible information tendrils silently infiltrated Bluestar’s internet, satellite communications, and various data centers.

These tendrils carried no offensive code whatsoever, yet possessed terrifying learning and deconstruction capabilities.

The information carriers used by humanity were stripped, analyzed, and reconstructed at an astonishing speed before the【Myriad Analysis】protocol.

“Oh-ho?”

Ye Yao adjusted her “perspective” and soon saw images of Bluestar on the large light screen.

Clearly, this had been stolen from Bluestar using the Watcher Civilization’s black technology 1 Slang for unknown high tech scifi stuff. .

Was it terrifying?

Yes, it was terrifying!

Ye Yao felt that her privacy was about to be compromised!

She knew full well that her social media accounts and electronic devices hid quite a few “unpresentable” works.

The Bureau of Countermeasures might respect her privacy, and even protect it.

But it wasn’t necessarily the case for these lofty Watcher Civilization folks!

They certainly had no sense of privacy awareness. If they uncovered anything, they would definitely invade her electronic devices.

Ye Yao was thinking—

“Should I delete my browser history now?

Wait, I don’t really have anything to hide anyway. Aside from some magical girl dress-up photos, there’s not much embarrassing secrets to speak of.”

On second thought.

She didn’t have any quirky fetishes.

She could just be herself openly and honestly!

With so many innocent and adorable loli mamas around her, Ye Yao didn’t even have time to satisfy that other kind of curiosity.

As for lewd images…

There’s nothing lewd in the 2D world.

It’s clearly art!

Saving them after seeing them shared by group members in the chat was just a sign of respect for the artists!

“No, I should go find more “trash” shared by group members and save them. Anyone who wants to poke into my privacy will have to pay the price!”

Ye Yao wasn’t too nervous, and her playful side was still dominating her thoughts.

This was probably the confidence that her unparalleled mechanism gave her!

Don’t panic. Keep watching!

At the flagship’s data processing center.

A torrent of information streamed in like a flood, efficiently sorted and analyzed.

On the holographic screens.

The progress bars representing language decryption filled rapidly.

The basic framework and historical trajectory of human society began to emerge swiftly.

However, as information collection deepened, some highly anomalous data points began to flash frequently, quickly marked as high priority.

“Anomalous historical event node detected: ‘Great Awakening Era’.”

As the screen froze on one image.

Even Ye Yao, who was “voyeuristically” watching, couldn’t help but grow serious.

That was a summary of the event where she had ushered in a new era. The existence of “Tong Yao” would undoubtedly draw the Watcher Civilization’s attention.

Sure enough.

One staff member’s voice carried a note of uncertainty as they reported.

“According to extensive cross-referenced information sources, prior to this event, Bluestar civilization’s understanding of mental power was limited to hearsay and had not become widespread. Ninety-nine percent of organisms could not utilize mental power.

The rulers at the top of the civilization may have believed that making such knowledge public would affect their rule, so they concealed most of the information, only establishing special organizations under their own control.

Before this, human civilization as a whole had not achieved unity; it was fragmented into multiple countries of varying sizes, and lacked the necessary conditions for long-distance spaceflight.”

Only a united civilization had the chance to develop rapidly.

To venture into the universe, a civilization had to unify all ideologies and set its sights on the stars above.

A divided civilization was doomed to spend most of its time on internal strife.

White Comet hadn’t expected such a promising civilization to have not yet achieved unification.

No wonder the entire star system lacked any decent civilization-made megastructures.

The staff member’s report wasn’t over.

“Up to that point, all developments fell within normal parameters. But soon, the civilization encountered a massive turning point!

Within an extremely short time window, a large-scale awakening of mental power erupted almost simultaneously across the globe. The latent mental power within virtually all organisms was completely activated, with a rate of… close to one hundred percent!”

As for why it was “close to” rather than truly one hundred percent.

That was, of course, because Ye Yao had skipped over nasty things like the four pests.

Rеαd οn КatRеaⅾіոɡСαfе

Cockroaches, rats, mosquitoes, flies…

None of them are allowed to evolve!

“One hundred percent? Forced evolution?”

Gray Marsh’s pupils contracted slightly.

This defied all their understanding of natural civilizational evolution.

How could a civilization that hadn’t even left its cradle accomplish something so beyond reason?

White Comet murmured softly.

“Close to one hundred percent…”

Could it be the interference of some other advanced civilization?

“More critically, the central figure who triggered this global ’Great Awakening’ is recorded as…”

The analyst enlarged several of the most authoritative historical archives, news records, and even folkloric texts.

“Codenamed ‘Tong Yao’, suspected to possess strength on the scale of an interstellar overlord or above.

Information on this individual is extremely vague, but all clues point to her having unlocked humanity’s mental potential through unknown means, possibly a planet-wide ritual.

Since then, Bluestar’s social structure, technology tree, and energy system have all undergone dramatic changes, with mental power being widely applied in production, daily life, and other domains.”

Watching this unfold, Ye Yao couldn’t help but mutter: “I can’t escape being doxxed after all.”

Author Note

Awawa, the mother cat is meowing loudly in the middle of the night and keeping me awake. I’m going back to my rented apartment tomorrow, so I guess I’ll have someone else take her to get her spayed.
