Volume 1, Chapter 441 – Heavenly Dao Fortune
“I only broke through not long ago.”
Seeing the shock on Wuxu’s face, Shi Lan was not particularly surprised. In the eyes of others, her speed of cultivation truly was something rarely heard of.
At those words, Wuxu gave Shi Lan a careful look, and the thoughts he had only just calmed stirred once more.
Even without looking closely, he could sense the radiance of her nascent soul, blazing like a fierce sun within her body. A nascent soul of this magnitude had already surpassed many Heaven-Man Realm experts. To possess such power while still in the Nascent Soul Realm was by no means an easy feat.
To achieve this alone was enough to prove that the cultivation art Shi Lan practiced had an upper limit surpassing ordinary Emperor Dao scriptures. At the very least, it was a method passed down by a Great Emperor. Even he himself had never come into contact with scriptures of that level.
Yet even when cultivating a supreme art, a nascent soul of this strength should have required a vast amount of time to temper before its foundation could become truly stable. But Shi Lan had plainly defied common sense.
How long had it even been since he left Lingyang?!
Even if the flow of time differed between worlds, at most only a few years had passed. Shi Lan’s rate of advancement was simply too terrifying.
The great universe was boundless, and it was not as though Wuxu had never heard of beings whose growth in strength surpassed Shi Lan’s. But every one of those terrifying existences had undergone accumulation beyond the imagination of ordinary people, storing up immense reserves before erupting forth, with gifts so overwhelming they could scarcely be exceeded. Only then could they possess such horrifying cultivation speed and ascend to the absolute peak in an extremely short time.
As for Shi Lan’s background, Wuxu knew it very well. When he had first met her, her talent could indeed be called rare, but it was still far from being something that could illuminate all ages.
Yet in just a few short years, she had leapt from the Earth Fiend Realm, broken through the two great barriers of the Heavenly Astral Realm and the Myriad Phenomena Realm in succession, and entered the Nascent Soul Realm, with such profound nascent soul foundations on top of that. In the entire ancient history of the Lingyang Realm, this could be called utterly without precedent.
At that thought, a subtle change came over Wuxu’s gaze, a strange light surfacing in his eyes. Guiyun’s choice had indeed not been wrong. Perhaps he was about to witness the rise of a legend.
The blood rain was still falling, staining the sky red, when a crimson shadow swept across the horizon.

Chi Junyu had gone and returned. It had seen the phenomenon of a Supreme’s fall, and after settling the white tiger somewhere safe, it had turned back again, wanting to know whether Shi Lan was safe.
When it saw that Shi Lan was unharmed, it let out a sigh of relief. But after noticing Wuxu standing in midair, it folded its wings and did not dare approach, only watching from afar.
Wuxu lifted his eyes to the sky. Within the universe, several more auras had appeared.
The moment he arrived in this world, he had already understood why so many powerhouses had gathered here.
A major world whose Heavenly Dao had fallen was an enormous temptation to any force, enough to make Supremes rush toward it in droves.
“Senior, forgive this junior’s shamelessness, but please send me out of this star domain so I can return to Lingyang.”
Wuxu’s arrival had let Shi Lan glimpse hope of escaping the mire. All she wanted now was to leave this place as quickly as possible.
Shi Lan did not know how large the forces of the Reincarnation Hall truly were, but a behemoth spanning the Myriad Worlds was absolutely not something Wuxu alone could resist. Leaving as early as possible was the best course.
“Leave? Why should you leave? Since I’m already here today, I may as well gift you another opportunity.”
Wuxu’s sword-like brows lifted slightly as he shook his head. His gray robe remained spotless, keeping the blood rain in the sky three zhang away from his body.
He had no intention of asking about Shi Lan’s own circumstances, nor any desire to pry into her secrets.
In truth, compared with her cultivation art and rate of advancement, the real question was why Shi Lan had appeared alone in a world so far away from Lingyang in the first place.

Even an ordinary Emperor-level powerhouse would need decades to cross such a distance.
“An opportunity?”
Shi Lan did not quite understand what Wuxu meant.
“Do you know why these so-called Supremes are fighting over this world?”
“For source power?”
Shi Lan only had a rough understanding of the matter herself.
“You actually know about source power.”
Hearing those words, Wuxu showed a trace of surprise. Below the Emperor realm, one was simply not qualified even to come into contact with the true nature of that power.
“A world’s origin is the quickest shortcut to increasing one’s strength. It can merge with any kind of power without the slightest obstruction, and never produce any rejection.”
Stepping through the falling blood rain, Wuxu descended to Shi Lan’s side and continued:
“For the sake of its own survival, the Heavenly Dao likewise needs that kind of power. Taking the Heavenly Dao of the Lingyang Realm as an example, if you were to sacrifice this world to Lingyang, then within Lingyang, you would inevitably receive the Heavenly Dao’s protection. From then on, your path of cultivation would be smooth and open. Aside from the Sovereigns of the three races, no one else would be able to harm you. And if you offered it in the name of the human race, you could even win the human race another three parts of fortune.”
“Heavenly Dao fortune…”

Hearing that, Shi Lan was somewhat puzzled. She was no stranger to those favored by Heavenly Dao fortune, the Children of Fortune, but she did not quite understand what it meant to win three parts of fortune for the human race.
“The fortune of the three races is closely tied to the territories they occupy. At the same time, it is also related to the strength of the heavenly tribulations their cultivators must endure as their power increases.”
The moment Wuxu finished speaking, Shi Lan’s eyes widened slightly. The strength of a heavenly tribulation clearly affected the chances of surviving it. If that was truly the case, then the situation in which the strong only grew stronger was obvious.
“In ancient times, the human race alone flourished because the territory of our race covered the entire continent. Our fortune was incomparably prosperous, greatly reducing the power of the world-destroying tribulation and causing the number of peak experts in our race to explode.”
“Then what is the opportunity you spoke of, Senior?”
“I’m not saying this so you can offer this world to Lingyang.”
Wuxu shook his head slightly, a flicker of divine light passing through his eyes.
“Your nascent soul is on the verge of reaching completion. I will help you refine this world, and use it to carry your own Dao. By that, you will step into the Heaven-Man Realm.”
“Refine this world?”
Shi Lan’s brows drew together slightly. Faced with such a major world, she did not know whether she would be able to bear it.
Although the Heaven-Man Realm allowed one to open up a small world of one’s own, capable of nurturing life, such a world was extremely fragile at the beginning, no more than a rudimentary prototype.
If she truly refined the Qiongluo Realm, then in the future it would be equivalent to moving about while bearing an entire major world. That would be a burden beyond imagination, something even a Supreme would likely struggle to endure.

“You needn’t worry. Since I intend to do this, I naturally have confidence.”
Wuxu had clearly already made up his mind. He waved a hand.
“Guiyun has a secret art called World-Melding. The Heavenly Dao of this world has already collapsed, which makes it perfectly suited.”
…
Qiongluo Realm, above a secluded valley.
The four Supremes of the Reincarnation Hall stood shoulder to shoulder before a water mirror.
On the other side of the mirror was reflected a void world, filled with thick chaos qi. A figure was wrapped within the chaos qi, its form impossible to make out.
“Greetings, Saint Lord.”
Cloud Saint bowed. The other three Supremes stood to one side and said nothing.
“Yunkai, it’s been quite some time since you last came to me. You never come without a reason. What is it this time?”
A light laugh came from within the mirror, faint and indistinct, making it impossible to tell whether the speaker was male or female.
