Volume 1, Chapter 444 – Armament Envoy

Boundless Supreme blood churned through the starry sky.

Flowing Cloud Holy Lord’s pale pink lips were stained with blood, dyed a vivid crimson, while fierce, exhilarated killing intent flowed through her phoenix eyes.

Although the Heavenly Dao Alliance’s twelve Supremes held the advantage in numbers compared to Reincarnation Hall, once the fighting began, they had fallen into the disadvantage.

The only one who could barely hold back Flowing Cloud Holy Lord was the middle-aged Daoist, but his strength was clearly still a notch weaker, leaving him suppressed throughout the fight. Even while exchanging blows with him, Flowing Cloud Holy Lord still had strength to spare to pressure the other Supremes.

After several days of battle, three Supremes of the Heavenly Dao Alliance had already died at Flowing Cloud Holy Lord’s hands, while four others had been gravely wounded.

On Reincarnation Hall’s side, the four Supremes had all suffered heavily as well, aside from Cloud Saint. During the fight, Flowing Cloud Holy Lord had quite obviously taken special care of Cloud Saint, helping him through quite a few dangerous moments.

“Daoist, I see that your primordial yang remains intact. Your blood and qi are supremely holy and supremely unyielding—rather flavorful, I must say. Why not surrender without resistance? If you do, this lord can spare the others. What do you say?”

Flowing Cloud Holy Lord let out a soft laugh as she looked at the middle-aged Daoist. Hidden crimson glimmers leaped within her eyes, and a trace of greed passed through them, like blood-jade amber.

The middle-aged Daoist kept his eyelids lowered, seated cross-legged in the starry sky, his expression as still as an ancient well. Of the six Dao banners circling him, three were already damaged, and the remaining three had also begun to crack, on the verge of collapse.

Boom!

A rain of blood suddenly exploded in the starry sky as yet another Supreme fell. Already grievously injured and unable to hold out, he was suppressed and slain by Cloud Saint with a passage of half-Saint scripture.

Blood qi drifted across the boundless starry sky, only to be divided up again in an instant by the Supremes on the battlefield.

The origin qi within the starry sky was far too thin. The clash between Supremes had already drained dry the spiritual qi of the surrounding starfields, and countless small worlds had been destroyed.

If they wanted to continue fighting, they had to replenish their origin qi. The fallen bodies of these dead Supremes were undoubtedly the best supplements.

Even though those who had died were allies who had fought shoulder to shoulder with them only a short while ago, the Supremes of the Heavenly Dao Alliance did not hesitate in the slightest.

If they did not do this, and simply allowed their enemies to nourish themselves through battle, then in the end, none of them would escape defeat and death.

“The time has come…”

The middle-aged Daoist’s eyes flashed sharply, and he suddenly rose to his feet. Cold light surfaced in his once placid expression.

The smile on Flowing Cloud Holy Lord’s face faded. Her brows drew together slightly as her gaze swept toward the distant starry sky.

A phantom passage gradually condensed, spanning the stars of the heavens. Some unknown existence was tearing open the great universe with overwhelming might and was about to descend.

The middle-aged Daoist ceased fighting. With a sweep of his sleeve, he put away the few battle banners around him, and the remaining Supremes of the Heavenly Dao Alliance also retreated to his side, their expressions cold and severe.

“Your time of death has arrived!”

The Daoist looked at Flowing Cloud Holy Lord, killing intent piercing from his eyes into the bone.

Several streams of light shot out of the passage and landed upon the battlefield.

At their head was a middle-aged man wearing a blood-colored robe. He stood tall and straight, with pupils like black jade and a gaze sharp enough to pierce the bones and drive straight into the soul.

At his side were two young women. Starlight flickered within their eyes, their teeth were white and their features bright, their skin smooth as congealed cream, and dressed in emerald-green gowns, both were peerless beauties of the mortal world.

The aura around them was extremely strange. Their cultivation had not yet reached the Supreme Realm, yet their bodies emanated astonishing spiritual energy fluctuations, as though each of them were a world-shocking immortal herb found only once in ages.

“Retreat!”

The instant she saw the middle-aged man, Flowing Cloud Holy Lord’s expression changed. With a low shout, she turned without the slightest hesitation, tore open the starry sky, and returned to the vicinity of the Qiongluo Realm.

When the four Supremes of Reincarnation Hall saw Flowing Cloud Holy Lord’s reaction, all their hearts sank. They did not dare delay in the slightest and immediately followed after her.

“Greetings, Armament Envoy.”

The Supremes of the Heavenly Dao Alliance did not move to stop the departing group. Instead, they all stepped forward and bowed in greeting.

The Armament Envoy nodded in response. Sensing the extinguished auras in the starry sky, his gaze dimmed slightly, and he turned to the middle-aged Daoist:

“Where is that person?”

“Inside the realm.”

The middle-aged Daoist pointed toward Qiongluo and said in shame,

“Another force also intervened, and its background is unknown. We were just fighting them a moment ago. This poor Daoist was incompetent, which led to four allies perishing, and yet I failed to kill even one of the enemy.”

The blood-robed Armament Envoy lifted his eyes. His gaze tore through space and saw the vague outline of the Qiongluo Realm.

“Those few are not worth worrying about. They can be killed with a lift of the hand. Recover your origin qi first, then follow me and seize that Supreme artifact.”

As his words fell, the two women in green dresses stepped forward and extended their hands. Their palms were fair and smooth, delicate as jade, with only a single unhealed wound on each wrist, hideous and eye-catching.

The Supremes held their breath and focused, drawing threads of white vital essence through the air from those wounds and absorbing them into their bodies.

Those two women were almost equivalent to two humanoid great medicines. The energy hidden within their vital essence was incomparably vast, and the complexions of the three heavily wounded Supremes visibly regained color at a speed the naked eye could see.

In contrast, the faces of the two women turned deathly pale almost instantly. Their vitality was badly damaged, and the eyes that had previously shone like stars dimmed into dullness.

For a Supreme, the only thing capable of restoring origin qi in a short time was an immortal medicine of the same level. But such immortal medicines were things one could only encounter by chance and never hope to find. Even if one obtained them by accident, no one would possibly waste such a heavenly treasure by using it as a restorative supplement. These two women were clearly substitutes.

“Come with me.”

A beam of divine light pierced through the starry universe. The blood-robed Armament Envoy took a single step and arrived outside the Qiongluo Realm, the Supremes of the Heavenly Dao Alliance following close behind him, leaving only the two women behind in the starry sky.

…

The blood qi within the heaven and earth of the Qiongluo Realm was gradually thinning.

Whenever the blood qi weakened, Wuxu, seated in the starry sky, would slash out a strand of sword qi, ripping open the Giant Spirit King’s corpse and shaking out a faint mist of blood for Shi Lan to cultivate with.

Under his care, Shi Lan’s cultivation speed did not slow in the slightest and remained at its absolute limit the entire time.

In a corner, Yang Venerable crouched there silently, staring at the starry sky ahead and waiting in silence.

When Flowing Cloud Holy Lord and the others returned, he had been quite excited, thinking that he had seen a glimmer of hope.

Yet before he could show himself, the group from the Heavenly Dao Alliance came right behind them and forced him back once more.

The instant the blood-robed Armament Envoy appeared, Wuxu’s expression did not change, but the sword intent around him began to ring and hum.

“Just as expected—truly extraordinary.”

The Armament Envoy narrowed his eyes, fervor burning in their depths. He already had one foot in the Void Realm. If he could obtain such a blood body and use it as great medicine to nourish himself, then taking the third step would be all but certain!

Gathering his thoughts, he did not attack Wuxu directly. Instead, he shifted his gaze toward the people of Reincarnation Hall and slowly drew a pale-gold long mace from the void.

The long mace seemed forged from glazed jade and divine gold, rosy light seeping through its entire body. Faint heavenly marks circulated across it. This was an invincible, world-shaking divine weapon that possessed terrifying power beyond imagination.

Wuxu’s gaze suddenly sharpened, and a trace of caution appeared in it.

“How about you and I join forces?”

All at once, a transmitted voice sounded by his ear. Wuxu turned his head and saw Flowing Cloud Holy Lord smiling at him.

He gave no response. After remaining silent for two breaths, he dropped straight into the Qiongluo Realm and arrived before Shi Lan.
