Volume 1, Chapter 461 – The Tushan Clan
“My surname is Tushan, my given name is Yuqi. I presume Your Excellency must be the lord of the Lan Clan.”
Qinglan glanced at the woman in green before her, then looked away without comment.
She had some impression of that name. Tushan Yuqi of the fox clan’s Tushan clan, currently ranked third on the Immortal Maiden Ranking among the three clans, truly was a rare beauty.
Qinglan’s somewhat rude reaction did nothing to diminish the smile on Tushan Yuqi’s face. She carefully examined Qinglan for a moment, then suddenly let out a soft laugh.
“Your Excellency does rather resemble that person in the Demon Emperor Palace.”
As soon as the words fell, the attention of all the Heaven Demons in the hall was drawn over.
The Demon Emperor Chenxin was an elusive figure within the demon domain. There were not many Heaven Demons who had truly seen him; in the entire hall, there were no more than three or five.
Those few Heaven Demons looked Qinglan over for a while, and shock and uncertainty could not help flashing through their eyes as well.
At first glance, Qinglan’s features did not resemble the Demon Emperor’s. But once one looked closely and with concentration, there always seemed to be a few traces of his shadow there.
Recalling how the Feather Emperor had always shown the Lan Clan considerable favor, these Heaven Demons all came to the same somewhat bizarre conjecture.
Could the lord of the Lan Clan really be an imperial princess?
An unacknowledged bloodline of the Demon Emperor?
Bzzz—
While the Heaven Demons in the hall all had different thoughts, a void passage suddenly opened. The Divine Phoenix Heavenly Secret Jade had locked onto the location of Huang Ze’s mausoleum.
“Enter at once. One month from now, I will open the passage again and bring you all back.”
Feng Yichuan waved his hand, and the Heaven Demons set aside their gossiping thoughts and filed in one after another.
“I wish Your Excellency a fruitful return.”

Tushan Yuqi’s fingertips lightly brushed over Qinglan’s sleeve hem, and then, surrounded by a host of Heaven Demons, she stepped into the passage.
Qinglan brought up the rear, following close behind one of the demon grandmasters as she entered the passage.
…
…
The tremor of space twisting came over them. The passage was extremely fragile, as if it would collapse with the slightest force.
The many human Heavenlords advanced very carefully. Shi Lan, with Tianbai beside her, remained at the tail end of the group, moving forward slowly and unhurriedly.
Entering Huang Ze’s mausoleum in such haste had not been her intention, after all the injuries to her spirit soul still needed time to heal.
But now that she had the Qiongluo Realm at her back, even if danger arose, she would still be able to handle it with ease.
Crack—
Just as her thoughts drifted, a brittle sound rang out from the spatial passage, and cracks suddenly appeared.
“There is no need to panic. We should already have arrived near the mausoleum. If the passage shatters, there will be spatial turbulence. Be careful, everyone.”
One of the Pseudo-Emperors at the very front of the group spoke.
As soon as his words fell, the surrounding space shattered like a broken mirror, stirring up howling torrents.
The figures ahead vanished one after another into the turbulence. Shi Lan instinctively reached back to grab, only to grasp at empty air.
Tianbai, who had been following at her side the whole time, had suddenly disappeared without a trace.
In an instant, the spatial turbulence had already swept to her side.

Carried along with the spatial currents, Shi Lan opened her eyes again to find that the world before her had completely changed.
This was a lush mountain forest, with a silver moon hanging high in the sky.
Huang Ze had been buried within a great world he had carved out for himself. Though this place still belonged to Lingyang, it stood apart from the outside world.
Shi Lan calmed her mind and focused her senses, feeling for the green lotus totem on her forearm.
This was the Lan Clan’s ancestral mark. Through it, she could sense all the Lan Clan’s followers.
There were now quite a few transformed Demon Kings in the Lan Clan, but Tianbai’s aura was far too familiar to Shi Lan. After only a few breaths, she made contact with him.
“Your Excellency.”
“Where are you right now?”
“I don’t know…”
“Find a place to hide and wait for me to come find you.”
Perhaps because the distance was too great, Shi Lan could only determine Tianbai’s rough direction.
Qinglan’s location, however, was clear as day, only a little over four hundred thousand li away from her.
After a brief moment of thought, Shi Lan chose a direction that led away from Qinglan, concealed her traces, and slowly drew closer toward Tianbai.
No one understood the situation within this great world. The most recent information about it came from a million years ago and could not serve as any real basis.
The spiritual qi in the air was extraordinarily dense, even surpassing that of the Lingyang Realm. By all reason, powerful living beings should exist here.

Before entering this world, the ten Heaven Demons under the Feather Emperor had all left markers on Qinglan.
Thus, not long after entering this world, they had all gathered at Qinglan’s side.
For this journey into Huang Ze’s mausoleum, the Feather Emperor had assigned only two tasks: first, ensure Qinglan’s safety; second, bring back the Dao-Extinguishing Flower.
Qinglan’s safety took priority over the Dao-Extinguishing Flower.
The Dao-Extinguishing Flower was a ninth-grade immortal root that had already vanished from Lingyang. It was a strange flower that grew upon the remains of Emperor Realm experts after their deaths.
Legend had it that it could help one attain the Dao.
Qinglan herself did not care much about it. What interested her most was the Emperor blood within Huang Ze’s body, as well as that Divine Phoenix Undying Scripture.
Shi Lan likewise carried phoenix blood within her. Those two things would save her a great deal of arduous effort.
“There is something strange about this world. Along the way, I saw traces of many living beings.”
“Even spirit medicines over ten thousand years old are rare. The hope of finding the Dao-Extinguishing Flower Her Highness wants is likely slim.”
“The urgent matter is to find Huang Ze’s mausoleum.”
After several demon grandmasters finished discussing it among themselves, their gazes settled on Qinglan.
“What are Lord Lan’s plans?”
Originally, they had only intended to treat Qinglan as a mere foil and bring her back safely. But Tushan Yuqi’s earlier remarks had shaken that thinking.
Better safe than sorry.
If Qinglan truly was of the Demon Emperor’s bloodline, then offending her rashly would obviously be inappropriate.

“Find the mausoleum first.”
Qinglan’s answer was concise and to the point. Her goal was clear.
“What a coincidence.”
Before the group could set off, a soft laugh came from not far away. Tushan Yuqi appeared within Qinglan’s line of sight with two Heaven Demons at her side.
“Why don’t we travel together? That way we can look after one another.”
Qinglan stared at Tushan Yuqi for a long while, said nothing, and simply strode away.
There were not that many coincidences in the world. Most accidents that seemed coincidental at first glance were usually driven by ulterior motives.
At least, that was the feeling Tushan Yuqi gave her.
…
With more than ten Heaven Demons moving together, they had virtually no opponents in this great world and rampaged without restraint.
Such a conspicuous display quickly drew the attention of the human Heavenlords.
The humans mostly moved in groups of two or three, and compared with the demon race they were naturally at a disadvantage. On top of that, there were four demon grandmasters at Shi Lan’s side as well, so when battle broke out in haste, they were naturally no match and could only retreat in defeat.
The two races had often warred with one another. Many Heaven Demons were registered within the Imperial Court, while quite a few human Heavenlords also had some reputation among the demon race.
After a few exchanges, both sides realized that Huang Ze’s mausoleum had other entrances.
Of the ten Heaven Demons surrounding Qinglan and the protectors at Tushan Yuqi’s side, only two were left behind to ensure their safety. All the rest had already scattered outward.
With humans present, there was a very real chance that Huang Ze’s mausoleum would be preempted. For the demon race, that was absolutely intolerable!
