Volume 1, Chapter 476 – Bringing Charges
Boundless Demon Domain, ancestral land of the Lan Clan.
Qinglan stood quietly by the Ancestral Blood Pool, her thoughts drifting.
There were not many demons willing to follow her beyond the realm. More than half of the transformed Demon Kings were unwilling to leave their homeland.
To them, the starry skies beyond the realm were filled with unknown terrors and unpredictable dangers.
That was a domain only Emperor-level powerhouses could reach. They had no confidence in their own strength.
Qinglan did not force this type of demon. Using relatively gentle means, she severed their bloodline ties to the Lan Clan.
Although they would need a period of recuperation, it was not enough to endanger their lives.
When Qinglan proposed going beyond the realm, Cangyue agreed without the slightest hesitation.
His bloodline was already completely bound to the Lan Clan. If he withdrew from the Lan Clan, then with his lifespan, he would never make another step of progress for the rest of his life.
Much as Feng Yichuan had expected, there were indeed quite a few agents from other great clans of the Demon Domain hidden within the Lan Clan. The news that Qinglan intended to take the Lan Clan away inevitably leaked out.
Reactions within the Demon Domain were mixed.
The top great clans, such as the dragon clan, did not care. They had occupied the summit of demonkind for countless years. To them, even the entire Lan Clan was no more than ants.
Several somewhat weaker great clans, however, were interested in the Lan Clan’s passage to the outer realm. Or rather, they had designs on the world to which the Lan Clan intended to go.
For powerful clans with Demon Emperors overseeing them, devouring resources from beyond the realm was hardly anything rare. They even had fixed resource-gathering outposts in several nearby star domains.

All of these probing attempts were blocked single-handedly by the Feather Emperor Hall.
Just as Qinglan’s thoughts were drifting, a spatial passage appeared at her side.
The moment Shi Lan’s figure appeared, Qinglan’s expression returned to cold indifference, like a pool of dead water.
The demons willing to leave with Qinglan had already gathered outside the ancestral land. Apart from Cangyue, only one Nascent Soul great demon was willing to accompany her. There were fewer than thirty transformed Demon Kings, and the number of lesser demons below them had also shrunk drastically, totaling only five hundred thousand.
Not long ago, the Lan Clan had nearly ten million members. Within the Boundless Demon Domain, it ranked second only to those powerful clans with Demon Emperors in command.
Among them were some Demon Kings who, although willing to follow Qinglan beyond the realm, were unwilling to stake the lives of their entire clans. Most had left descendants behind in the Demon Domain to ensure the continuation of their bloodlines.
Shi Lan swept a glance across the gathered demons outside the formation surrounding the Ancestral Blood Pool, drew a light breath, pulled up the system panel, and entered the World Coordinates section.
[Target: Shenwu Great World.]
This world was the choice Shi Lan and Samsara had deliberated over for a long time.
Within the greater universe, there were not many great worlds. Excluding those that had fused only two or three great thousand worlds, there were fewer than five truly great worlds that had completely surpassed the level of a great thousand world.
The Shenwu Great World had a comparatively simple power structure. It had not been touched by forces such as the Heavenly Dao Alliance or the Reincarnation Hall, organizations that spanned the Myriad Worlds. At least before Samsara came to the Lingyang Realm, it had still been a pure land.
[Five units of nine-star energy will be consumed. Confirm construction of spacetime passage?]
Without the slightest hesitation, Shi Lan chose to confirm. During the few days she had spent at home, she had the system absorb the remains of two Supremes. After spending these five units of energy, she would still have roughly two units left in hand. Rounded off, that was equivalent to one Supreme, enough to deal with emergencies.

A vortex suddenly appeared in the void, instantly piercing through spacetime across countless tens of thousands of miles and constructing a spacetime passage.
A few breaths later, vast energy fluctuations spread from the other end of the passage into the spacetime tunnel, carrying an aura completely different from that of the Lingyang Realm.
Without wasting any time, Shi Lan hid herself in the void. Qinglan activated the formation covering the Ancestral Blood Pool and led the gathered demons into the spacetime passage.
Under Cangyue’s lead, the five hundred thousand demons entered the passage in orderly fashion. In less than half an hour, all of them had vanished into the tunnel.
Qinglan raised a hand, dug out the entire Ancestral Blood Pool, stored it within her spatial treasure, then turned and entered the passage without looking back.
Watching Qinglan’s figure disappear, Shi Lan suppressed the longing within her body for the vast energy on the other side of the passage. She directly shattered the entrance and exiled the entire route into the void.
Her strength was still insufficient to destroy a spacetime passage that spanned countless light-years. She could only banish it into the chaotic currents of the void. As time passed, the passage would naturally disperse.
Once she had finished cleaning up the aftermath, Shi Lan did not linger in the Demon Domain. She immediately opened a spatial passage and returned to Shenzhou.
In her current state, remaining deep within the Demon Domain was far too dangerous.
…
…
The next day.
Several powerful auras streaked across the sky and came to a halt above what had once been the Lan Clan’s ancestral land. Their divine senses swept across heaven and earth, with faint surges of Emperor laws.

After turning over the ground and finding nothing, the several auras flew straight toward the Demon Emperor Palace.
Half a day later, a piece of news emerged from the Demon Emperor Palace and shook the entire Demon Domain.
Six Demon Emperors had jointly submitted a memorial to the Demon Emperor, accusing the Feather Emperor Feng Yichuan of suspected betrayal of his race and collusion with the human race.
Immediately afterward, rumors began to spread in private: within his territory, Qinglan, lord of the Lan Clan, was actually the avatar of Shi Lan, now the number one prodigy of the Lingyang Realm.
Not many demons believed that claim. Qinglan had long since become renowned throughout the Demon Domain. Demon Emperors had once gone to investigate her in secret and had confirmed her identity. She was absolutely not some so-called avatar.
Although she and Shi Lan looked strikingly alike, the possibility that the two were connected was vanishingly small.
What truly shook the Demon Domain was that six Demon Emperors had simultaneously moved against the Feather Emperor Hall. That was no coincidence, and very likely had been planned for a long time.
…
…
Feather Emperor Palace, inside the main hall.
Feng Yichuan, dressed in white robes, stood below the steps. His brows were dark as ink, his whole person like a statue carved from flawless jade. A blood-colored folding fan rested in his hand. Even standing there in silence, he exuded a lofty, untouchable, cold nobility.
A figure in green sat upon the throne at the end of the jade steps, looking down at Feng Yichuan with lowered eyes. His face seemed veiled by a thin mist, vague and indistinct, impossible to read.
“Tell it truthfully, from the beginning.”
Divine sense echoed through the hall. The tone was calm, yet carried an overbearing force that allowed no refusal.

“I have nothing to say.”
Feng Yichuan replied flatly,
“I will not rush to prove my innocence because of the baseless slander of a few rotten fish and shrimps.”
From beginning to end, the only person he had dealt with was Shi Lan. It had nothing to do with the two races. The development of the Lan Clan had always remained under his control, and talk of betrayal of his race was even more groundless.
Since the matter itself was insubstantial and illusory, there was naturally nothing to explain.
“This matter is only the fuse.”
Chenxin rose and slowly walked down the jade steps.
“You have always been too independent. You have already offended many people, to the point that you are close to provoking universal anger.”
In the previous campaign beyond the realm, most of the Demon Emperors believed that if the Feather Emperor had been willing to act, the demon race’s losses would not have been so great. They might even have had a chance to swallow up that stretch of the Illusory Star Domain.
A giant demon at the absolute peak of the Emperor level, wielding a Sovereign Weapon, was enough to influence that entire battlefield.
“What does that have to do with me?”
The expression on Feng Yichuan’s face cooled, and mockery surfaced in his eyes.
“Hasn’t standing aloof always been the way those great clans conduct themselves?”
