Volume 1, Chapter 75 – Luo Xiuhan
Shi Feng’s gaze sharpened and his palm tightened. The nearly ruined great momentum behind him slowly began to condense, and the dense spiritual qi in all directions was drawn along with it.
The man before him was only at the fourth stage of the Innate Realm. With the aid of that momentum, Shi Feng was absolutely certain he could kill him in a single move.
However…
He glanced up at the Yunxiao Treasure Ark overhead, then swept his eyes over the other disciples of the Sacred Martial Immortal Sect around them. The killing intent that had just surged in him slowly faded away.
If he lashed out for a moment’s satisfaction and truly made a move, with the state his body was in now, he probably wouldn’t make it a hundred zhang before dying here—and he would drag Tang Yan and her son down with him.
Most importantly, he already owed the Shi family two lives. His life now was no longer his own.
Seeing this scene, Du Yue’er grew a little angry. She had just opened her mouth to speak when Du Baisheng clapped a hand over it.
Meeting Du Yue’er’s puzzled gaze, Du Baisheng shook his head, looking a little embarrassed.
Du Yue’er was about to join the Sacred Martial Immortal Sect. At this juncture, she absolutely could not get into any conflict with people from the Sect; it would affect the path she would have to walk in the future.
Shi Feng’s killing intent had flashed and vanished, yet it was still caught by that disciple. The man’s expression tightened, and he subconsciously took two steps back. When he realized what he’d done, he couldn’t help but let out a self-mocking laugh.
“You’re really angry right now? You want to kill me?”
“Zheng—”
The longsword flashed from its sheath, hovering by that disciple’s side. Then the hilt flipped around and slowly drifted to a stop in front of Shi Feng.

After doing all this, a trace of ridicule flashed across the disciple’s face. He pointed at his own chest.
“Here’s the sword. Stab me right here!”
Without the slightest hesitation, Shi Feng gripped the hilt, his steps a little unsteady as he walked toward the man.
“Shi Feng…” Tang Yan called out, her expression worried.
Though Shi Feng’s steps were faltering, he didn’t stop at all.
The mockery in the disciple’s eyes deepened. As long as the man before him dared to make a move, he could immediately kill him under his blade in the name of self-defense.
“Zzz—”
The longsword slid slowly back into its sheath. Shi Feng smiled faintly. “You’ve misunderstood. I’m not angry.”
The disciple looked at the sword that had already returned to its sheath in his hand, swept a glance over Shi Feng, then cursed under his breath, “Spineless coward,” before turning to walk toward Du Baisheng and his granddaughter, urging, “If nothing’s wrong, hurry up and go.”
Du Baisheng bowed deeply to Shi Feng and the others, guilt written all over his face, then brought Du Yue’er along to catch up with that disciple of the Sacred Martial Immortal Sect.
Tang Yan stepped forward, supporting Shi Feng, and murmured a word of thanks.
Before the three of them had gone more than a few steps, a figure tore through the air and came to a stop, standing in midair.

“Boom—”
After a brief moment, a harsh sonic boom rang out, like the roar of thunder, echoing loudly as a long wave of compressed air was drawn across the sky. The newcomer’s speed had already broken the sound barrier.
Although Immortal Martial City had a flight-prohibiting array, at most it only restricted martial artists at the Earth Fiend Realm and below. Sometimes, to the truly strong, rules were nothing but empty words.
The newcomer was a man in a purple robe, looking a little over thirty, with a mustache and eyes shining with brilliant spirit light.
Seeing this man, the disciple standing beside Du Baisheng and his granddaughter bowed respectfully. “Elder Han.”
The elder surnamed Han ignored him. After sweeping his gaze over the people present, he fixed his eyes on Shi Feng. A gleam of light flashed in his eyes, a trace of wild joy surging in his expression before he quickly calmed himself.
After two light coughs, Elder Han slowly landed and walked up to Shi Feng. “This little friend, did you come to my Immortal Martial City aboard the Yunxiao Treasure Ark to seek refuge?”
“That’s right.” Shi Feng nodded.
“Do you have a master?” A faint excitement flashed through Elder Han’s eyes.
“I do,” Shi Feng answered without hesitation. His martial path had all been taught to him personally by Shi Tianlu; naturally, Shi Tianlu counted as his master.
“Having one… having one is no obstacle. Are you willing to join my Sacred Martial Immortal Sect?” As he spoke, as if afraid Shi Feng would refuse, he quickly added, “I can promise you at least a position as an inner disciple—perhaps even as a personal disciple.”
“Elder Han, that’s against the rules!” The disciple standing not far away turned pale. “When has my Sacred Martial Immortal Sect ever had a precedent of directly promoting someone to personal disciple? And this person’s origins are unclear…”
“What does any of this have to do with you? Go mind your own business. Are you that free? Do you need this Elder to find something for you to do?” Elder Han waved his hand, a bit impatient.

If not for this young man’s unclear background, he might have directly promised him a personal disciple’s position on the spot.
A great momentum like that was not something just anyone could condense. Moreover, this person’s bone age was so young, and his cultivation on the martial path was no weaker than average. Even compared to those few monstrous geniuses in the sect, the gap wasn’t all that large.
“I…” Shi Feng hesitated for a moment. Joining the Sacred Martial Immortal Sect was indeed an excellent choice. And right now, he was dragging a heavily injured body, and he didn’t even have a weapon-type artifact. If he rashly went back to look for Shi Lan, he would likely just be throwing his life away…
Before Shi Feng could make up his mind, Elder Han spoke again. “If you don’t mind, I can even guide you for a time. If there’s anything you don’t understand on the path of cultivation, you can come to me.”
At those words, an undisguisable mix of envy and jealousy surged into that distant disciple’s expression. Conditions like these were something ordinary people wouldn’t even dare to dream of. Even ordinary inner disciples weren’t qualified to have an outer-sect elder personally instruct them.
Suddenly, his face turned deathly pale. He had undoubtedly just offended this man completely. If this man rose to power, would he still have any good days ahead?
“With those few tricks of yours, what could you possibly teach him?”
Just as Shi Feng was about to speak, a somewhat cold voice rang out.
The space before everyone rippled like water, waves spreading layer upon layer as a burly figure stepped out from within.
The newcomer was a big man who looked a little over forty, dressed in a black robe, nearly eight feet tall, with a scruffy beard. His hair was somewhat long, hanging down over his eyes, and on his back he carried a massive blade almost as tall as he was.
The giant blade was smeared with blood, bright red and steaming faintly. The blood was still slowly flowing, like magma.
Seeing this man, Elder Han let out a wry smile. He didn’t dare refute what the man had just said. He bowed. “Martial Uncle Luo.”

The big man came to a stop before Shi Feng, looking down at him. “My name is Luo Xiuhan. I have yet to take a disciple. Are you willing to acknowledge me as your master?”
“I…” Shi Feng’s expression froze.
“You still have ties weighing on your heart and cannot accept my teachings like this. Once I help you settle what you cannot let go of, it won’t be too late for you to answer.”
Luo Xiuhan waved his hand, swept a glance at Elder Han, and said evenly, “Zichuan, see to it that his friends are settled.”
“Yes.” Elder Han bowed in response.
Luo Xiuhan pointed at the rippling space behind him and said to Shi Feng, “Go in.”
Shi Feng looked at Tang Yan and her son and instructed, “Be careful with everything.” Then he stepped into the ripples.
Luo Xiuhan followed right behind, his figure vanishing into the ripples. A single drop of bright red blood slid from the giant blade and fell onto the open ground before everyone.
The moment the blood hit the ground, flames erupted without anything touching it. In an instant, it rolled out into a sea of fire!
Han Zichuan’s expression changed slightly. He pressed his palm down, and a vast gust of wind from his hand swept out, instantly smothering the sea of fire.
Gently stroking the red mark on his palm, Han Zichuan’s heart was filled with shock and doubt. Just a single drop of blood had managed to injure him—could Martial Uncle Luo have slain yet another Heavenly Demon?
