Volume 1, Chapter 76 – Reunion
“Elder Han, that senior just now was from which peak? Why have I never seen him before?” The disciple in the distance couldn’t help asking.
Han Zichuan shot him a look and frowned. “Why are you still here? Are you really this idle?”
The disciple didn’t dare say another word and hurried away with Du Baisheng and his granddaughter.
Seeing Shi Feng and the others escape danger, Du Baisheng let out a breath of relief, but he couldn’t help feeling a bit gloomy. He had just stopped Yue’er from speaking up—he didn’t know whether that had been right or wrong.
After the three of them left, Han Zichuan looked at Tang Yan and her son and said gently, “Come with me.”
…
The moment Shi Feng stepped into the ripples, the world spun around him. When he came back to his senses, he was already standing on unfamiliar ground, Luo Xiuhan at his side.
“This place is four thousand li west of Immortal Martial City. The person you’re worried about—what direction are they in?” Luo Xiuhan asked calmly.
Shi Feng’s heart jolted. He didn’t even have time to marvel at how they’d crossed such a vast distance in an instant. After roughly estimating the distance, he said, “Roughly over thirty thousand li west of Immortal Martial City.”
Half a short incense stick of time later, the two of them were already hovering above Twin Moon City.
On the vast expanse of ruins below, moss had begun to grow. It was clear the city had been destroyed for quite some time.
Luo Xiuhan’s divine sense swept out, blanketing everything. A few breaths later, he shook his head. “There are no living people here anymore.”
Shi Feng stared blankly, and the already tattered great momentum behind him even showed signs of collapsing.
“Wake up!” Luo Xiuhan frowned slightly and barked.

Shi Feng came back to himself, lowered his head, raised a hand to cover his face, and his breathing grew heavy.
Luo Xiuhan grabbed Shi Feng’s shoulder, flashed once, and appeared at the northern gate of Twin Moon City.
“See if the name of the person you’re thinking of is on this stone stele.”
Shi Feng stared intently at the stele, going over the names one by one. After checking several times, it was like clouds parting to reveal the moon. He finally let out a long breath and shook his head.
“The person you’re worried about is in the Demon-Suppressing Army. Do her family members live in the Chengtian Domain?”
Shi Feng nodded. “They do.”
“Where?”
“Roughly over eighty thousand li from here.”
…
In less than half an hour, Luo Xiuhan had already brought Shi Feng back to Tenglong City. However, the scene in Tenglong City was little different from Twin Moon City—only a wasteland of rubble remained, with scarcely a trace of human presence.
Looking at Tenglong City, where he had lived for over ten years, reduced to this—ruins and shattered walls as far as the eye could see—Shi Feng fell into another daze.
Luo Xiuhan took Shi Feng away from Tenglong City and rushed to Nine Skies City. Nine Skies City had not yet fallen, but it was packed to the brim, refugees everywhere he looked.
Luo Xiuhan brought Shi Feng to the City Lord’s Manor, and before long he had found out where the members of the Shi Residence had gone.

In a military camp on the outskirts of the city, for the first time in nearly half a year, Shi Feng saw Shi Tianlu again. Now, among the Shi clan, only Shi Tianlu and a few Innate Realm martial artists had stayed in Nine Skies City. Su Lanyue and the others had already departed on another Yunxiao Treasure Ark bound for Immortal Martial City.
Yet in less than half a year apart, Shi Tianlu seemed to have aged a great deal. Dressed in battle armor, the hair that had only been slightly graying at the temples before was now mostly white. His face was weathered, and his eyes were heavy with exhaustion.
“Shi Feng?”
Seeing Shi Feng, a hint of joy flashed in Shi Tianlu’s eyes. Then, spotting Luo Xiuhan at his side, he asked in puzzlement, “And this is?”
His gaze swept behind Shi Feng, and when he saw no sign of Shi Lan, his confusion deepened. “Where’s A’Lan?”
He studied Shi Feng carefully, and after noticing how depleted his blood and qi were, Shi Tianlu frowned, a bad feeling rising in his heart. “How did you get injured this badly?”
Shi Feng’s knees suddenly gave way. He knelt before Shi Tianlu and bowed deeply. “I’ve failed the Clan Head’s great kindness. The Eldest Miss is currently missing.”
Shi Tianlu’s expression froze. He stayed silent for a long time, then gently rubbed his forehead. “What happened?”
Shi Feng recounted everything he had seen and experienced while accompanying Shi Lan, leaving out nothing. He spoke for nearly an hour.
“So it was a senior from the Sacred Martial Immortal Sect. My apologies for the discourtesy.” After listening, Shi Tianlu drew in a deep breath and cupped his fists.
Luo Xiuhan inclined his head slightly.
Shi Tianlu looked at Shi Feng and lifted his hand.
“Get up. If A’Lan has truly joined the Demon-Suppressing Army, then she definitely isn’t dead. I don’t have any extra battle merits on me, and I haven’t received any notices from the human race annals.”
At those words, Shi Feng rose to his feet, his heart easing a little. As long as she was still alive, there was hope.

“Since you’ve received such a great opportunity, cherish it. I’ll ask others on this side to keep an eye out for A’Lan. As long as she’s in the Demon-Suppressing Army, it won’t be too hard to find her. You don’t need to worry too much. Focus on recovering and devote yourself to the martial path.”
Shi Tianlu sighed inwardly. To survive an encounter with a demon king was already tremendous fortune. As long as she wasn’t dead, there was still hope.
Shi Tianlu had many matters to handle. After chatting for a bit longer, he hurried out of the tent.
Luo Xiuhan looked at Shi Feng and said mildly, “Can you formally acknowledge your master now?”
Shi Feng didn’t hesitate. He immediately bowed deeply and began the formal rites of taking a master.
Shi Feng wasn’t stupid. If he didn’t acknowledge him now, Luo Xiuhan might change his mind. If that happened, failing to enter the Sacred Martial Immortal Sect would be one thing; he’d have no way to ask Luo Xiuhan to help search for someone, and that would be real trouble.
“Master, this disciple wishes to ask a favor of you.”
After finishing the rites, Shi Feng spoke.
Luo Xiuhan nodded, already guessing what Shi Feng wanted. “I can help you look for Shi Lan. Tell me what she looks like and how strong she is.”
“Shi Lan is… very good-looking. Her cultivation is at the eighth stage of the Body Tempering Realm—at most she wouldn’t be above the ninth stage. She should be dressed in male clothes.”
Luo Xiuhan took Shi Feng back to Twin Moon City and began searching the surrounding area. His divine sense spread outward, sweeping across tens of thousands of li around Twin Moon City, but he still didn’t find anyone matching Shi Feng’s description.
Shi Feng could only give up for now.
After crossing several stretches of space in a row with Luo Xiuhan, Shi Feng gradually realized something was off. With each spatial crossing, the forest beneath his feet grew denser; he even saw towering ancient trees over a hundred zhang tall. This didn’t feel like the road back to the Sacred Martial Immortal Sect.

“Master, where are we going?”
Luo Xiuhan stopped on a branch of an ancient tree and said calmly, “The blade intent you’ve condensed has already developed cracks and needs to be reforged. This place is the Endless Monster Domain. I’ll catch a demon king for you. You’ll personally cut it down to mend your great momentum, then use its essence blood to temper your body anew and restore your injuries.”
Luo Xiuhan waved his hand, and a horizontal saber as black as ink appeared before Shi Feng.
“I can see your mind has also been wounded. The artifact you nourished with your spirit for years must have been destroyed. From now on, you’ll use this blade.”
Shi Feng first offered his thanks, then gripped the horizontal blade in his hand. After examining it for a moment, he couldn’t help but ask in puzzlement, “Master, this blade doesn’t seem to be sharpened yet.”
“This is an embryonic spirit treasure, not yet complete. Once you use this blade to kill that demon king, I’ll seize its soul and use it to hone the edge.”
Shi Feng’s breathing tightened. His voice came out a little dry. “Thank you, Master.”
…
On the outskirts of Nine Skies City, in the military camp.
Shi Tianlu stood a little nervously beside someone, rubbing his hands together.
“Well? Did you find Shi Lan’s name?”
“I did find it, but this daughter of yours…”
