Peach-Orange! – Chapter 165 – Putting Herself in Danger
Taking two deep breaths to steady herself, Su Tao opened the car door and stepped out.
Her hands remained firmly in the pockets of her black coat as she stood by the dimly lit roadside, letting the shadows of the night envelop her.
Ye Liang, standing at the hotel entrance, adjusted the expensive watch on his wrist under the bright lights and forced a smile. “Su Tao, I knew you’d come. Let’s go inside. I think there are too many misunderstandings between us.”
He stepped aside, making way at the hotel entrance, his eyes gesturing for Su Tao to enter.
Su Tao glanced at the tall, burly bodyguards beside her and the two men flanking Ye Liang before walking toward the hotel entrance.
The atmosphere was tense, but Ye Liang didn’t seem to mind. As they headed toward the elevator, he said, “Su Tao, don’t be so cold. Just two months ago, we were on such good terms. It’s only because of some misunderstandings that things have turned out this way.
“During my time in the hospital, I’ve reflected a lot. I do have major problems. I neglected your feelings and was too arrogant. As a grown man, I even argued with Chi Xiaocheng. But you know me.”
When they reached the elevator, Ye Liang turned around, his expression serious. “It’s because I like you— no, love you, that I got angry when you ignored me.”
As he spoke, he reached out a hand to touch Su Tao’s face.
But Su Tao coldly smacked it away.
“Save your sweet talk. Do you really think I’d still believe you?”
The elevator doors opened. Su Tao stepped in first without looking back, only turning to glare icily at Ye Liang. “Don’t flatter yourself. Your smile disgusts me.”
The fake smile on Ye Liang’s face froze.
He had imagined countless scenarios for this meeting.

He had even analyzed Su Tao’s personality to predict her reactions.
That sincere apology letter, given Su Tao’s nature, she should have been moved. After all, he had made it clear that it was Lin Fangya’s doing. What did it have to do with him, Ye Liang?
As for Chi Xiaocheng, he had even said he forgave her and mourned her death. How dare she still not forgive him?
Some people just didn’t know when to quit!
Ye Liang’s expression darkened, though he still forced a smile.
Whatever. Su Tao was already in his territory. There was no way she could escape now.
The elevator ascended to the top floor of the hotel.
A super presidential suite, with a rooftop pool just above.
Ye Liang opened the door like a gentleman. “Come in. Misunderstandings take time to resolve. We can talk this through properly.”
Su Tao glanced at the two bodyguards. “We can talk, but I don’t want any interruptions.”
“Of course.” Ye Liang smirked briefly before regaining his composure. He turned to the bodyguards. “No matter what happens, you are not to enter without my orders.
“Understood?!”
His sudden raised voice sounded almost like a signal.

The two bodyguards instantly understood. The young master was planning to do “that” again.
They nodded. “Yes, Young Master. Understood, Young Master.”
Once the door closed, one of the bodyguards sighed enviously. “Lucky bastard. Another stunning beauty this time. Isn’t Su Tao the untouchable flower of Jiuzhou University? I’m so jealous of the young master’s life.”
The other bodyguard pulled out a pack of cigarettes. “Wanna go out for a smoke? The young master usually doesn’t like eavesdroppers when he’s doing that.”
“Won’t… anything go wrong?”
“What’s there to worry about? Our young master knows a thing or two about fighting. What could possibly go wrong? This isn’t the first time. You think he’d actually get overpowered?
“That Su Tao? A delicate girl who’s not even 1.7 meters tall?”
This wasn’t the first time. Lure a girl into the room, and no one would know what happened inside.
With his wealth and power, who could resist him?
Ye Liang’s thoughts aligned perfectly with his bodyguards’. Su Tao’s suggestion also suited him just fine.
What was about to happen… really shouldn’t be disturbed.
Originally, Ye Liang had planned to lure Su Tao here, ambush her on the way, or simply have her killed in the hotel. Without their leader, Dongfang Yang and Si Chen would be left in disarray.
But after seeing Su Tao, Ye Liang changed his mind.

That slightly haggard yet stunningly beautiful face… wasn’t this exactly what he had pursued in the first place?
He could only imagine what lay beneath that black coat!
After months of chasing her, he hadn’t even gotten to hold her hand.
And today, Ye Liang wanted to do much more than just hold hands.
Walking into the living room, Ye Liang felt invigorated. He plopped onto the sofa, crossed his legs, and said casually, “Make me a coffee first. You know how I like it.”
Just like the old days, before their fallout.
Back when he sat in his office, and Su Tao would come to see him.
The first thing he’d say was to have her make coffee.
The girl would reluctantly but obediently prepare it for him.
That sense of superiority was something Ye Liang had always enjoyed.
But this time, Su Tao didn’t move as usual. She just stood before him, hands in her pockets.
With no bodyguards around, her gaze grew even colder.
Ye Liang wasn’t worried. He sighed. “Su Tao, if we’re going to clear up misunderstandings, we should at least talk calmly, no? I told you, Lin Fangya was the one behind it. I can take you to see her tomorrow.”

“Secondly,” Ye Liang emphasized his next words, “I’m truly sorry about Chi Xiaocheng’s death. I was hospitalized and had no idea. As soon as I found out, I took action. I even found some of her important belongings with Lin Fangya.
“I was also worried that Chi Xiaocheng’s parents might be targeted by Lin Fangya, so I sent people to protect them.
“As for Xiao Ming, he was Lin Fangya’s accomplice. I captured him and got information about your father.
“If we’re going to talk, shouldn’t we both stay calm?”
Ye Liang maintained his superior expression before uttering two words: “The coffee.”
Su Tao took a deep breath, tightening her grip on the small knife in her pocket.
Her loose hair covered her ears, and the raised collar of her coat hid her pale neck. Outside, the night grew darker, and her expression worsened.
Hidden beneath her hair was a delicate, miniature earpiece.
Voices buzzed through it.
“Su Tao, stay calm! Ye Liang is deliberately provoking you.
“You should’ve listened to us earlier and not have entered the hotel! Just wait for us to surround the place. There’s no need to put yourself in danger!
“Right now, your priority is to stall for time. Don’t let anything happen!”
