0.4 Diabolic and Demonic Cultivation

Diabolic/Devilish Cultivation is cultivating in vicious or inhumane ways. Rather than using spiritual energy from nature to strengthen themselves, they usually eat other cultivators and absorb their powers instead. Devils (Mo) are basically humans but evil. The diabolic practice uses a way to devour souls, leaving only an empty human shell behind. To disguise themselves, devils make go into those human shells and pretend to be an average human. In some books, devils are a completely different race of species, but not in Unseen Immortal of 300 Years. Think of devils as the demons in Demon Slayer, except since it’s translated from Japanese, they are called demons.

The Demons in Demon Slayer are not to be confused with Demons in Chinese Literature. Demons have not appeared in this book and I don’t know if they will. There is a BIG difference between devils and demons. In Chinese literature, Demons (Yao) are animals, foxes, tigers, lions, birds, and any animal that has practiced cultivation. They practice a path known as demonic cultivation, well because they are animals and until they cultivate strong enough to have a human form, they probably can’t use any human cultivation methods. And yes, once a demon is strong enough, they can have human forms. And they’re usually very hot ngl

Some translators do not distinguish between Devils and Demons, in that case, you’ll just have to use your own judgment to figure out if they’re talking about evil beings, an evil race, or just animals. Some people may have a strong misunderstanding, so let me clear it real quick: Not all demons are bad, but most if not all devils are bad, unless something happened to them that made them change their cultivation practice.
