Volume 2, Chapter 45 – Your Majesty?

Without hesitation, she dove down from the sky, striking one of the men beating Auston with a hand chop to the shoulder.

“Gyaaaaaah!”

The man immediately clutched his shoulder and let out a pained scream. But Yisi had no time to spare for him, shifting her focus to the next target.

The men quickly noticed Yisi, and realizing she meant trouble, they abandoned Auston and charged straight at her.

“Die— Aaaah!”

“Shut up.”

She kicked the first man who rushed at her squarely in the groin. His face twisted in agony as he collapsed to his knees, clutching his crotch.

The other men nearby showed no fear. On the contrary, upon seeing the feminine figure beneath Yisi’s cloak, they grew even more reckless in their assault.

“Bastard, attacking us without warning!”

“Only fools waste words on the likes of you.”

She ducked slightly to evade a wild swing from one man, then drove her shoulder hard into his chest. As if hit by a truck, the man flew backward like a ragdoll, crashing into several of his companions behind him.

Next came an arrow from the side.

Realizing Yisi’s strength, one of the thugs loaded a crossbow and fired at her. But to Yisi, the arrow’s flight was as slow as a scene in a movie played in slow motion. She caught it effortlessly and hurled it back with even greater force, knocking the crossbow right out of the man’s hands.

“Next time, I won’t just disarm you.”

“Eeek!”

Letting out a terrified shriek, the man dropped his weapon and fled toward the alley’s exit like his life depended on it.

“Next!”

In a cold, commanding tone, Yisi issued a challenge to the remaining three men. One of them roared and lunged at her.

“Raaaaaah!”

Mid-charge, the man suddenly leaped into the air, clearly aiming to tackle Yisi to the ground. But she merely sidestepped, dodging his lunge, and at the moment he passed her, she grabbed his arm and forcefully redirected his momentum, slamming him face-first into the ground with a heavy thud.

Thud!

Only two men remained.

As if staring at a monster, the last two men’s faces were filled with terror. To them, someone as small as Yisi should have been no match for them.

“N-no way!”

“Monster!”

Screaming in panic, the two turned tail and ran.

Once she confirmed the remaining men were no longer a threat, Yisi turned her attention to the battered Auston. Several of his teeth had been knocked out, his cheeks were swollen, and his eyes were blackened, making him resemble a comedic, pitiful clown.

“Th-Thank… oo…”

Though his speech was garbled, Auston managed to struggle to his feet and express his gratitude. As expected, he didn’t recognize Yisi.

“I only did what was necessary.” As she spoke, Yisi lifted her cloak, revealing the pureblood vampire wings growing from her waist. Then, she casually pulled a small vial of pale yellow liquid from her inventory and tossed it to Auston. “Use this to heal your wounds. Drinking it or applying it will work.”

“This…”

“You wanted to see someone, didn’t you? Looking like this won’t impress anyone. Well then, goodbye.”

Without another word, Yisi spread her wings and flew out of the alley using her magic.

Had Yisi activated her omniscient map at that moment, she would have noticed a young girl and a man clad in plate armor watching the sky from a distance.

“Borris, was that a pureblood just now?”

“I believe so, Your Majesty.”

The bearded man in plate armor bowed slightly to the girl.

“Could you defeat her with your abilities?”

“I cannot say for certain, my liege.”

“Even Borris isn’t confident in defeating her…” The girl gazed at the spot where Yisi had vanished. “I wonder which of our kin she is… If only she would speak with me…”

“Your Majesty, we still have matters to attend to today. If we could recruit—”

“I know…”

Her lifeless tone faded, replaced by a flurry of scattering bats.
