Volume 2, Chapter 47 – Teleportation Magic Circle
Evening.
By the time Yisi and Mary returned to the tavern, the sun was already setting. After pretending nothing had happened and operating the tavern until closing time, Yisi finally began her preparations.
“Onee-sama, what are you…?”
Standing on the deserted street, Camilla looked at Yisi, who was holding the long-handled staff “Twilight of Eternal Frost,” as she used the staff’s tip to draw something on the ground.
Without turning her head to look at Camilla, Yisi focused intently on sketching the pattern.
“I’m drawing a magic circle. Camilla and Shinku encountered some thugs who tried to rob the tavern this afternoon, right? To prevent any mishaps if something like this happens again, I’m making some preparations.”
Perhaps Baron Wells had sent people to watch the tavern several days ago. When Yisi and Mary were ambushed in the alley outside the slave merchant’s guild, thugs also targeted Camilla and Shinku inside the tavern. However, since both Camilla and Shinku were exceptionally strong among ordinary people, the thugs were knocked to the ground as soon as they climbed into the backyard.
According to Camilla, this was thanks to the two frost wolf pups. After being trained by Fran, the wolf pups had become very obedient and treated the tavern as their den. The moment the thugs stepped into the tavern, the two wolf pups pounced and bit them. Though they didn’t defeat anyone, the thugs’ screams alerted Camilla and Shinku to the intrusion.
As a reward, Yisi specially prepared a meat-only dinner for the two wolf pups.
“With me and Shinku here, there’s no need to worry. Onee-sama, you don’t have to exhaust yourself like this.”
As she spoke, Camilla draped a coat over Yisi’s shoulders. Ever since Yisi caught a cold last time, Camilla had been worried she might fall ill again. But for a vampire, catching a cold was an extremely rare occurrence.
“Thank you,” Yisi smiled and accepted the coat before continuing to draw the pattern on the ground. “I’m just preparing for the worst. Today’s incident reminded me that we should be wary of the downsides of standing out too much. As the tavern becomes more popular, we’ll attract more jealous competitors. If one day they sneak in unnoticed, I won’t be able to sleep without having taken precautions.”
“Mary and I can take turns keeping watch at night.”
“No~pe~, that’s too exhausting.”
“But what you’re doing now is even more exhausting.”

Camilla anxiously took half a step forward.
Yisi paused and tilted her head.
“Exhausting? Camilla thinks I’m exhausted now?”
“Drawing magic circles is a tedious and mana-consuming process. Ordinary spellcasters can barely manage a two-meter-diameter circle. Judging by what you’re doing, you’re planning to cover the entire tavern… I know you’re strong, but please don’t harm your health for the sake of money. If it’s blood you need, Mary and I can provide it.”
Under the moonlight reflected by the surrounding snow, Camilla’s ruby-like eyes sparkled, reminding Yisi of an elf in the night.
“Mmm… I’m really happy Camilla cares about me like this. But drawing magic circles is as easy as writing or drawing for me. It doesn’t take any effort.”
Moreover, this was another experiment for Yisi. In Ragnarøk, players could also use magic circles in combat. By selecting the desired magic circle from the menu, the circle would automatically appear on the ground or an object, consuming materials in the process. Since she could recreate magic and magical items in this world, how would magic circles manifest?
At first, Yisi thought she would have to rely on memory and draw the circles stroke by stroke. If that were the case, she would have to abandon the idea of using magic circles in combat—no player would memorize the intricate patterns of in-game magic circles, such as the runes surrounding them or the symbols of mythological deities at their core. However, when Yisi tried to recall them, something unexpected happened.
Take the magic circle she was currently drawing as an example. When Yisi imagined a “Teleportation Magic Circle” in her mind, a glowing path invisible to others appeared before her eyes. All she had to do was trace the path, similar to practicing calligraphy with a template. The size of the magic circle could also be adjusted at will, which was why Yisi said it required no effort at all.
Of course, the mana cost would increase with the complexity of the pattern. But with Yisi’s mana regeneration rate of 100 points per second, any mana expended would be replenished instantly.
“Besides, let’s not forget how Shinku and the others snuck in through the second-floor balcony before. And this afternoon, even with you and Shinku, dealing with a larger group of thugs was tough, right? Fran told me one of the Eye of Dusk from the backyard kitchen was stolen.”
“I… I’m terribly sorry…” Camilla lowered her head. “Allowing such a precious treasure to be stolen… Shinku and I didn’t notice at the time.”
“No, I’m not blaming you, Camilla. The Twilight Eye isn’t something I’d just give away, but it’s not exactly high-grade either. Losing one isn’t a big deal—if anything, using it improperly could kill the thief. I just wanted to remind you not to push yourself too hard.”
Yisi had enough Eye of Dusk in her inventory to fill a room. Losing one was inconsequential. Moreover, the Twilight Eye had a fatal flaw: if someone accidentally cracked or shattered the spherical crystal, the resulting explosion could instantly kill any player below level 100.
“I understand, Onee-sama.”
With a slight bow, Camilla stepped back, her expression reverent once more.

“What kind of magic circle are you drawing now, Onee-sama?”
“A teleportation circle. Once activated, I can instantly transport anyone within this area to another location. Magic circles may seem cumbersome, but once set up, they’re incredibly convenient.”
“Another location…?”
“The outskirts of Celtic City. This way, no matter what happens, I can choose whether to send the enemies away or teleport you and the others to safety.”
The first option was for dealing with easily manageable foes, while the second was for situations where Yisi was outmatched. Of course, given her publicly known level of only 10, Yisi planned to either avoid using the teleportation circle altogether or ensure absolute secrecy if she did—whether by sending the targets to the vampires’ territory in Pescia or enslaving them with a vow of silence. Either way, they wouldn’t be able to reveal the circle’s existence.
Just then, Yisi’s stomach let out a tiny, pitiful growl.
Yisi froze in embarrassment.
“Uh…”
“Onee-sama, are you hungry?”
“No, we just had dinner. It can’t be that.”
Rather than conventional hunger, it had been two days since she last drank blood. The last vial of Refina’s blood had been licked clean, and in desperation, Yisi had even drunk the warm water used to rinse the test tube to stave off the hunger.
Who knew her stomach would growl just from lacking blood?
Yisi almost laughed at the absurdity.
Camilla’s brows furrowed.
“Then…? Now that I think about it, it’s been a while since I last saw you drink blood. Are you running low? If you don’t replenish it soon, you might trigger Blood Frenzy.”

As she spoke, Camilla pulled out a small dagger from somewhere, ready to slice her palm. Yisi hurriedly stopped her.
“Wait, Camilla! The last time I drank your blood was half a month ago, right? It hasn’t been a month yet.”
“But I can’t bear to see you suffering like this. It’s my duty as your little sister.”
“No. I’ll talk to Mary first. If she refuses, then I’ll come to you.”
Finishing the final touches on the teleportation circle, Yisi withdrew the Twilight of Eternal Frost. Instantly, the previously inconspicuous magic circle lit up with a white glow. After flashing twice, the light faded, and the drawn lines vanished from the ground.
Yisi clapped her hands with exaggerated cheerfulness.
“All done! Camilla, let’s head upstairs now.”
“But the blood…”
“It’s fine. Tonight, Mary, you, and I will sleep together—in my room.” For some reason, Yisi felt a twinge of guilt as she said this, as if she were committing a crime. “Mary suggested it.”
“T-together?”
No, no, Camilla, why are you blushing now? You’re making me embarrassed!
Screaming internally, Yisi could only cough awkwardly to maintain her composure.
“Yes. At that time, I’ll ask Mary for her opinion.”
“If she refuses, I’ll beat her until she agrees.”
“Camilla, are you a demon…?”
Rеаⅾ оո ΚαtReаⅾіոɡСаfе
“If I am, I’m a demon for Onee-sama’s sake.”
Seeing Camilla’s slight pout, Yisi couldn’t help but smile wryly. Though Shinku and Mary were around the same age, Camilla treated the former like a junior while teasing and picking on the latter.
Maybe Mary just had a natural talent for being bullied.
No—perhaps Camilla saw Mary as someone close but didn’t know how to express her affection.
Yisi nodded sagely. Compared to Shinku, Mary was practically a lively child. Camilla might view her as a younger sister, which would explain the bullying.
Absentmindedly stroking her chin, Yisi stepped into the tavern first.
“Camilla, let’s go back.”
“Mm, I’ll be right there.”
After watching Yisi ascend to the second floor, Camilla, still standing on the street, touched her flushed cheeks. She hastily adjusted her clothes, untied the large white ribbon holding her golden hair, and frantically pulled out a comb to tidy her locks.
A full ten minutes later, Camilla finally calmed down, cupping her face and murmuring to herself.
“This is the first time Onee-sama… has ever invited me to share her bed… Even if it’s with Mary too, but… ahhh, I’m so embarrassed…”
Had Yisi been present, she would have been stunned by Camilla’s adorable gesture of burying her face in her hands.
“No, no, stay calm, Camilla. You must stay calm. This is your chance to shine. If you disappoint Onee-sama, Mary might steal her away from you.”
Slapping her cheeks hard enough to leave red handprints, Camilla forced herself to adopt her usual expressionless demeanor and strode into the tavern with solemn determination.
—And then immediately went to take a bath.
