Volume 3, Chapter 17 – Fallen Angel Ariel
“For a guild, it’s surprisingly large.”
After accepting Clementine’s invitation, Yisi soon arrived at the Flame Conquerors’ guild in the eastern district of the city. Unlike the narrow and messy environment she had imagined, the Flame Conquerors’ headquarters was a mansion with a small garden. Although it couldn’t compare to the mansion the church had prepared for Yisi back in the Niru parish, for an ordinary person, it was definitely a building with a jaw-dropping price tag.
The room assigned to Yisi was a guest room on the second floor. The rooms were set up for two people each, not only with windows that let in plenty of light but also with decorative vases on the low cabinets.
“And the bed is so soft. If I could lie on a bed like this, I’m sure I could fall asleep just by closing my eyes.”
Mary, who had dived straight for the large white bed upon entering the room, said as she rolled around, her face filled with the blissful expression of being enveloped in softness.
Tiffany, on the other hand, was looking out at the backyard from the room’s window.
“A well.”
She must be worried about rehydrating.
Yisi beckoned to Mary.
“Alright, alright, Mary. Rolling around like this in front of the head of the house is rude. At least wait until Mr. Ainos has left.”
“Okay~”

Like a rabbit, Mary jumped up from the bed.
Ainos, standing to the side, rubbed his head and smiled magnanimously.
“Miss Yisi, please don’t mind her. Seeing Mary so lively is a reward for me. I hope my future daughter will be this cute as well.”
“Mr. Ainos’s daughter will surely be spoiled.”
Yisi couldn’t help but tease with a smile. The reason Ainos was standing here was that everyone in the Flame Conquerors’ guild knew about Clementine’s predilections.
When the adventurers sitting on the first floor saw Clementine walk in with three girls behind him, they all, with a tacit understanding, threw him looks of contempt.
Clearly, Clementine had done this sort of thing many times before. In the end, Clementine was tied up by a group of burly men, and Yisi received comfort from the adventurers—they treated Yisi like a little girl, afraid she would be psychologically scarred.
Mary, unable to sit still, soon began to clean the room.
“Master, where is Miss Camilla?”
“Camilla went to greet the other adventurers living here. Well, I should have been the one to do that, but seeing how earnest she was, I let her be. As for room assignments…”
First, she and Camilla definitely couldn’t share a room. Considering Tiffany had just joined the team and wasn’t that familiar with her companions, Yisi nodded thoughtfully to avoid making Tiffany feel alienated.

“I’ll share with Tiffany, and Mary will share with Camilla. Is that alright?”
“No problem at all~”
“Agreed.”
Even Tiffany nodded in agreement. Although they had only known each other for a few days, Yisi could already hear the change in Tiffany’s emotions from her tone—she was happy.
Looks like I made the right choice.
If this were a dating sim, a “+1 affection” system notification would have definitely triggered. Super good job.
Of course, she couldn’t let her inner smugness show on her face. Yisi turned around as if nothing had happened.
“By the way, I have a favor to ask of you, Ainos. Tiffany is the type who is afraid of strangers. I’m going out for a bit. Could you please help keep an eye on Clementine and prevent him from getting close to Tiffany? Mary and Tiffany have just been through a battle and need to bathe and change their clothes.”
Tiffany’s ‘Imitate’ skill could only be maintained for a maximum of 4 hours. Including the time spent fighting outside the city gate, she was now close to her limit. From what Yisi had heard from Clementine, the residents of Antonio City were afraid of slimes disguising themselves as humans to spread the Calamity, so they absolutely could not let anyone discover Tiffany’s identity.
Ainos patted his chest earnestly.
“Even if it’s the Guild Leader, I will never allow anyone to peep on a bathing maiden.”

“Thank you. I’m going to the weapon shop in the Noble District. I’ll leave Mary and Tiffany to you.”
“Please rest assured, Miss Yisi.”
After patting Ainos on the shoulder and giving a few instructions to Mary and Tiffany, Yisi left the room. Ainos was a reliable knight with a strong sense of justice, but even if a problem arose, Mary and Camilla were more than capable of handling most people.
It was better to first purchase some decent equipment for Mary and Camilla, and gather some information along the way.
Greeting the adventurers of the Flame Conquerors, Yisi left the mansion.
It was probably because people were finishing work and heading home that the evening streets had a sparse flow of people. Under the orange-red sunset, the Tower of Hermion, located at the peak of the snowy mountain, came into view.
A magnificent and beautiful tower of blue light connecting heaven and earth.
“Although I saw it when I was in the Niru parish, this is the first time I’ve looked up at it from such a close distance.”
The Tower of Alexia, here known as the Tower of Hermion, was neither like a Chinese-style pavilion nor shaped like a stable triangle like the Eiffel Tower. Instead, it was like a spear thrown down by a god, thrusting straight into the mountain’s peak.
“I remember the book said it ‘relies on the magic of the ley lines to operate, and its defensive formulas are enough to withstand any magic, no one can bring it down.’ It kind of feels like it’s setting up a flag, but since it has stood for over a thousand years, I guess it really can’t be brought down.”
Yisi yawned.

“But to think there’s really a Fallen Angel in this city, and with no attempt to hide. Samael at least hid in a place my map couldn’t detect. Fallen Angel Ariel, huh? A Fallen Angel who excels in water and wind magic, famous for being a user of wide-area annihilation magic that once destroyed a subjugation force of over three thousand people in a single blow. Speaking of which, the Fallen Angel’s innate magic is really troublesome; I can’t see their levels at all.”
However, as long as the Omniscient Map could detect him, it meant his level was definitely lower than hers. Plus, this encounter was just a coincidence, unlike Samael who was clearly after her. Yisi planned to leave Antonio City after she finished her business.
“Before talking about the future, let’s get the immediate tasks done.”
The equipment for Camilla, Mary, and Tiffany was the priority. Considering she wanted to test the value of the magic cores and equipment from “Ragnarøk” in this world, Yisi slipped into a small alley, changed her appearance, and put on a mask and cloak before entering the Noble District.
“As expected of the Noble District.”
The so-called Noble District didn’t actually have a clear boundary. It was just an area demarcated by different long-term security measures. Even without pedestrians on the street now, Yisi could glimpse a team of patrolling soldiers passing by every so often.
Not only were the streets paved with white stone bricks, but they were also wide enough for three carriages to travel side by side. The buildings on both sides gradually changed from the previous gray-black to tall, well-decorated houses built entirely of white stone. The buildings were neatly lined up, creating a scene that felt like another city. Even the air had less turbidity, becoming clean and clear.
Neat, bright, and dignified.
This was Yisi’s first impression of the Noble District.
If it weren’t for its long history and frequent maintenance, such a scene would never have been formed.
“Well, I guess this is also related to the lord’s personality. I heard from Clementine that the current Count Hermion likes luxurious things.”
