Volume 4, Chapter 33 – An Incomprehensible Hunting Method
Common sense dictates that leveling up requires hunting monsters on the premise of survival. And to survive battles with monsters, purchasing excellent equipment and items is essential, which requires a large amount of gold. Without gold, one can only accept low-level quests, accumulate money by hunting low-level monsters, then buy high-level equipment, and then wear that equipment for more advanced expeditions.
Without sufficient luck, these preparations often take several years.
And if the goal is to level up quickly, one must wear fine equipment and venture deep into uninhabited areas, fighting against loneliness and hunger, tracking down monster hordes, and battling large numbers of them.
Such a process is usually fraught with various dangers. It’s either continuous fighting for days without rest or being passively beaten, forced to find a place to hide, surviving on a few dry rations, and waiting for a moment when the monsters let their guard down to counter-attack. Not only is the survival rate of such a process extremely low, but even if one is lucky enough to survive, they will often end up with physical disabilities.
Therefore, no matter how much most people want to become stronger, they will adopt a gradual approach, starting with hunting weak monsters around the forest—even if leveling up this way is very slow.
At first, Refina had wanted to suggest this to Yisi, but what Yisi did later made her swallow her words.
As for Yisi’s method, she would first find a safe area in the forest and have everyone wait there. Then, she would run into the forest herself and drive over a group of monsters of a specific level.
Since the monsters being driven over were all of a pre-selected type, there were neither monsters that were too powerful to deal with, nor were there monsters that were too weak to level up from, no matter how many were killed. Therefore, in just a few short hours, everyone had leveled up.
Although Refina didn’t know how Yisi managed to select specific monsters, nor did she know why the phenomenon of “high-level suppression”—where a low-level person cannot gain experience from killing a monster if a high-level person has damaged it—didn’t occur, she was certain that such a method could absolutely not be replicated.
Leaving aside the difficulty of selecting monsters of a specific level, the requirement of avoiding “high-level suppression” was already extremely difficult. Perhaps only a national-level institution that specifically rears monsters could release them like this for people to level up. Refina had heard of such organizations before; the royal family would spend a great deal of money to cultivate specific high-level monsters, and when the monsters reached adulthood, they would be killed to allow the royals to level up quickly.
It sounded easy, but whether it was capturing high-level monsters, raising them, or making them obedient, all had extremely harsh conditions. Take capturing high-level monsters, for example. A living monster of around level ten would usually sell for over 20 gold coins. These monsters could either help their masters in battle or perform heavy labor without complaint. If it were a special species like a dragon, it wouldn’t be surprising if the price was ten times higher. Compared to killing them for experience, it was clearly more rational to have them work continuously.

In addition, raising and training monsters required manpower, food, and time. A large amount of human, financial, and temporal resources had to be invested. The combination of these factors created an extremely high barrier to entry. Even a noble like Count Pescia had never thought of establishing a monster-rearing institution.
After all, the cost was frighteningly high.
And what Yisi was doing now was infinitely close to what a specialized monster-rearing institution did. Refina could even imagine that if Yisi were to announce this, many people would pay a hefty price to experience such a night.
A thousand gold coins? Or an even higher ten thousand?
It was truly hard to imagine.
It wasn’t that her own knowledge was too limited, but that Yisi was too far beyond common sense.
But in contrast, a strong sense of hope rose in Refina’s heart. What she was experiencing was a super-high-level treatment that even her own master had never experienced. Therefore, she had to seize every second, quickly recover her stamina and magic, and prepare for the next wave of monsters.
She knew that such an opportunity might only come once in a lifetime. If she missed it, it would not come again. The more levels she could gain, the more she could help her master in the future.
Subconsciously, Refina urged everyone on.
“Let’s hurry and clean up the battlefield, collect the magic cores and monster materials, and prepare for the next battle.”

“Huh? You still want to continue, Refina?”
At some point, Yisi was already standing next to her. While Refina was still pondering the opportunity, Yisi had already returned from the forest to the group and had even greeted Camilla, Mary, and Tiffany.
“Ah… Miss Yisi, when did you…”
As if knowing what Refina was about to say, Yisi yawned as she spoke.
“It’s been a while. It’s too late now. If we continue, we won’t be able to get up the next day.”
That’s completely irrelevant, isn’t it?!
Refina even heard Yisi add something about staying up late being bad for the skin and making people stupid.
It was simply unbelievable.
If anyone else had said that, and it happened to be heard by her master, Edith, her master would have surely grabbed the person by the collar, thrown them to the ground, stomped on their head with her foot, and furiously cursed them as a lazy fool.
Of course, Refina only thought this in her head. She was already grateful that Yisi was willing to let her experience this rapid leveling. Although she was reluctant, since the person in charge said to stop, she could only stop.
The others must be reluctant too, right?

Refina secretly glanced at Camilla and the other two. Camilla’s gaze was entirely on Yisi, Tiffany looked indifferent, and even Mary, who had the most normal personality, was now yawning.
Alright, Mary and Tiffany were too young. They probably didn’t know the difficulty of leveling up or how precious levels were, so it was forgivable. But why did even Camilla look so unconcerned?
The reactions of those around her were so incredibly calm that Refina began to feel that she was the abnormal one.
Seeing Refina’s silence, Yisi tilted her head.
“What’s wrong? Are you not feeling well? I guess continuous fighting does overload the body.”
“Huh? Ab-ab-absolutely not! In fact, I can keep going until tomorrow morning—”
Ah.
It’s over.
Refina subconsciously covered her mouth. The blood of shame rushed from her arteries to her brain, and her face instantly turned bright red.
She had accidentally spoken her true thoughts.
It was too embarrassing for her master, just like a country bumpkin who had never seen the world—although she really hadn’t seen anything this ridiculous.

Yisi pressed her index finger to her cheek, a slightly troubled expression on her face.
“I don’t mind, but continuous fighting is indeed not very good for the body. I’ve also read in books that leveling up too quickly can leave side effects. Let’s save it for tomorrow.”
“Th-there’s a tomorrow?”
Refina’s golden eyes instantly lit up, as bright as the Summer Triangle.
Yisi nodded.
“Of course. We’ll continue until the day Edith carries out her assassination plan.”
“Thank you so much, Miss Yisi!”
With an emotion so strong she almost seemed about to cry, Refina bent down abruptly and bowed to Yisi.
“I don’t know why you’re suddenly thanking me… but let’s go back to Margaret first.”
With a slightly confused expression, Yisi first blindfolded everyone with black cloth—even Camilla had a fear of heights, so there was no guarantee Refina wouldn’t—then used advanced teleportation to bring her companions to Margaret.
