Volume 5, Chapter 8 – After Getting Drunk
By the time they returned to the Pescia family mansion in the noble district, it was the middle of the night. Fresh from her bath, Yisi emerged from the bathroom, drying her hair with a towel.
“As expected of a mansion in the Royal Capital’s noble district. Even the bathroom is this luxurious.”
Although the bathroom in the capital’s mansion was of average size, it had everything one could need. Compared to the ostentatiously lavish style of the bathroom in the Pescia Territory, the interior decoration here was more stately, and Yisi preferred the mansion’s layout.
With only a bath towel wrapped around her body, Yisi walked out of the bathroom. Originally, Yisi was a nudist, but the bathroom wasn’t directly connected to the bedroom and required passing through a hallway. Coupled with the fact that there were various servants in the mansion, Yisi still paid some attention to her personal image.
“Someone like Edith is the real heretic…”
Of course, this wasn’t to say that Edith would walk around naked after a bath, but rather referred to her view of not treating servants as human beings at all.
The slightly warm sensation on her skin made Yisi stretch out languidly. Without even putting on shoes, she padded across the red plush carpet toward her bedroom. The hallway, with magic lamps hanging on both walls, was exceptionally clean. Walking barefoot on the plush carpet was sheer bliss.
“It would be even better if I had a glass of milk.”
Unfortunately, the Blood Clan did not have the habit of drinking milk. But even if she could get some, Yisi wouldn’t actually drink it. Unprocessed milk had a lingering gamy taste that was hard to get down.
“M-Miss Edith… this is… too embarrassing…”
As she passed the living room, Mary’s mosquito-like whisper reached her ears. Yisi couldn’t help but stop and turn to look into the living room.
In the spacious, white-plastered living room, Mary was lying on a soft sofa, her slightly flushed face turned toward the inside of the sofa, not daring to look at Edith who was leaning over her. At the same time, Mary’s hands were held together by Tiffany. No matter how you looked at it, it seemed like Edith and Tiffany were bullying Mary together.
They’re not going to do something to Mary that only adults do, are they…
Although Mary was already an adult, Yisi still felt a bit strange about this kind of improper relationship. Just as she was about to step in and rescue Mary, Yisi noticed something unusual about Edith.

The latter’s blue eyes were glazed over, her white hair cascaded down her shoulders, and her breathing was more erratic than usual.
“Don’t move… it’ll be over soon.”
“B-But only Master is allowed to—mmph.”
Mary’s words were cut off halfway as Edith covered her mouth with her hand. Then, Edith ordered Tiffany to pull open Mary’s clothes, and her sharp fangs slowly approached Mary’s fair shoulder, which was exposed to the air.
Naturally, Yisi first landed a karate chop on Tiffany’s head, then reached out to block Edith’s mouth.
Then she was bitten by Edith.
It made a crisp sound.
“Hey, hey… don’t go bullying Mary while I’m not around. If you want to drink blood, aren’t there plenty of servants in the mansion?”
“Mmph,” having her blood-drinking interrupted by a third party, Edith frowned with impatience. After raising her head and realizing it was Yisi, the glazed look in her eyes returned. Like someone who had not yet fully woken up, she swayed as she stood up from the sofa and threw herself onto Yisi. “…Champagne.”
“Champagne?”
The moment the word left her mouth, Yisi immediately understood the reason for Edith’s strange behavior.
There was the smell of alcohol in her warm breath.
She’s drunk…
While supporting Edith’s body to keep her from falling, Yisi looked down at Tiffany, who had melted into a puddle. The latter also smelled of Margaret.

Both of them were drunk.
“Tiffany aside… even Edith can get drunk?”
As a noble, Edith should have been quite accustomed to drinking.
Edith looked up, her gaze toward Yisi filled with dissatisfaction.
“Blood.”
Even her tone was slurred with drunkenness.
After a moment’s hesitation, Yisi sighed helplessly.
“I’m fine with it, but don’t come blaming me for it later.”
Lowering the defense on her shoulder, Yisi pulled open a corner of her bath towel slightly.
Although she knew what was coming was just blood-drinking, Yisi felt an indescribable sensation. This atmosphere of feigned resistance while actively pulling down her own collar reminded her of a courtesan in a brothel receiving a client.
A slight sting came from her shoulder. Yisi looked at Edith, who was panting warmly while licking the blood like a kitten. The contrast between her drunken state and her usual dignified appearance was so great that it reached a level one might call cute.
“…Delicious.”
Her voice was slurred and indistinct.
I wonder what Count Pescia would think if he saw this.

After about five seconds, Yisi felt the wet sensation on her shoulder gradually disappear. Subconsciously, Yisi shifted her shoulder slightly and tilted her head to look down, but Edith’s head was lowered, preventing Yisi from seeing her expression.
“Are you done already?”
Given Edith’s usual level of greed, the blood-drinking should have lasted at least three minutes.
“…”
There was no answer, but Yisi could see Edith’s ears turning red at a visible rate. The blush quickly spread to her face, and Yisi could even feel Edith’s body growing slightly hot. Her exposed shoulders also turned a lovely shade of pink.
“What’s wrong?”
Yisi tilted her head, but this question made Edith’s reaction even more intense, to the point where her body began to tremble slightly.
“You’re not sick, are you?”
The trembling in her shoulders gradually subsided. After a full half-minute, Edith finally lifted her still-flushed face.
“…It’s nothing. Thanks to you, I’m completely sober now. Your blood seems to have a special effect on me. I believe I’ve told you before not to feed me your blood so casually.”
Normally, her tone would have been angry or commanding, but right now, it just sounded cute to Yisi.
Could it be that my blood makes Pepe hallucinate?
Yisi couldn’t help but ask her thoughts out loud.
Edith crossed her arms and turned around.

“What a joke. You and I are both purebloods. At most, your blood is just tastier than that of an ordinary member of the Blood Clan. It’s not enough to cause hallucinations. The reason I say it’s special is that drinking your blood sobers me up instantly, and my body feels more powerful than usual. This feeling can easily become addictive, so I must restrain myself until I have captured your heart.”
“Let me say this first, I only gave it to you because you came to me, Pepe.”
Still keeping her back to Yisi, Edith clicked her tongue softly, her voice mixed with unwillingness.
“You think I don’t know that? If I hadn’t come to you myself…” Edith’s voice grew softer as she bit her thumb and muttered to herself, “Now… damn it, the one time I get drunk… to be seen, and to act like some kind of cat… so disgraceful…”
Although Yisi had anticipated that Edith would regret getting drunk after she sobered up, she hadn’t expected her to be this bothered by it. Yisi felt as though black smoke was rising from behind Edith.
“You don’t need to be so concerned about it. You were very cute just now, Pepe. When you’re drunk, you make little ‘hummhum’ sounds like a kitten.”
This, of course, was not to comfort Edith, but a deliberate tease from Yisi. Right now, there was only a mischievous grin on her face.
As expected, like a cat whose tail had been stepped on, Edith’s wings flared open, and her voice rose several octaves.
“Shut up! Are you looking to die?”
“But it really was cute—”
Yisi only got halfway through her sentence before she grabbed Mary from the sofa and teleported outside with her. In the next instant, Gungnir shot through the spot where Yisi had been standing.
Afterward, from outside, Yisi could faintly hear the sound of something being beaten up inside the room.
Mm, better not add fuel to the fire. Otherwise, Edith might refuse to see me for several days.
Nodding in agreement with her own thoughts, Yisi carried Mary, who had fainted from extreme embarrassment, back to her own room.
