Volume 6, Chapter 2 – The Second Tiffany
“Bandits? Interesting.” A bloodthirsty light flashed in her azure eyes. Edith rose from her seat, took out Gungnir, and leaped out of the carriage past Yisi. “Food that delivers itself to my door. A good chance for a change of pace.”
Because they were far from the lands of the Blood Clan, it was difficult to obtain blood in the human world, especially within the sphere of influence of the Ymir Church. Therefore, since entering the Ymir Territory a week ago, Edith, Refina, and Yisi had all been relying on Tiffany to supplement the energy vampires required. They would only take out their treasured collection of other blood for a change of pace before bed each night. Although Tiffany’s taste was better than the blood of most people, anyone would get tired of it if they had it for too long.
“Hey, hey, this is human territory. If the humans find out, it’ll be like before.”
While on the surface using the reasoning that a vampire shouldn’t reveal herself so easily in human territory, Yisi actually had other thoughts. If I let Edith deal with those bandits, it would surely turn into a rather bloody scene. Although calling the patrol would also result in the bandits being killed, Edith’s sadism wouldn’t let her end the bandits’ suffering at once, but rather let them die slowly in despair, which is very inhumane.
Edith glanced at Yisi.
“As long as it’s done without anyone knowing, no one will find out.”
“But there might not be any women in there, you know? Pepe would just be wasting her time. The bandit profession is usually filled with able-bodied men.”
“Miss Yisi, those bandits seem to have stopped. We’re not their target.”
“Bandits, run for your lives.” 1 pfft
Popping her head out of the carriage, Tiffany looked at the distant bandits with a sympathetic gaze. Yisi forcibly pushed Tiffany back into the carriage. The way Tiffany said it made it sound as if they were the ones going to rob the bandits.
Looking at the Omniscient Map, just as Refina had said, the bandits had stopped two kilometers away and surrounded a light dot that appeared to be a carriage.
These bandits should count their lucky stars… If they had come looking for trouble with us, Pepe would absolutely not have let them go.
Putting on an indifferent act, Yisi took out the replica Gungnir from her storage.

“Let me go up ahead and take a look. The bandits’ target is a carriage in front of us. If Pepe goes, it’ll be easy for her pure-blood status to be recognized. If the people in the carriage see her and bring the news to the Holy City of Mitters Bayer, it’ll be troublesome if it causes Mitters Bayer to tighten its inspections.”
“Can’t we just get rid of the people in the carriage too?”
“No, no…” Dealing with bandits could be said to be ridding the people of a menace, but killing innocent people as well would make them no different from the bandits. “Pepe, you stay in the carriage. I’ll bring the blood back for you. Our goal is to negotiate with the Pope, not to fight.”
Edith frowned but did not explicitly object.
“I won’t object if Yisi insists on doing such a troublesome thing, but remember to bring the blood back.”
“Yes, yes. I just can’t guarantee that the blood will satisfy Pepe.”
After all, there was a possibility they were all men, and Pepe detested the blood of men.
Camilla came out from within the carriage.
“Onee-sama, may I go with you?”
“Mm, be careful not to expose our identities.”
Camilla’s negotiation skills were better than her own. If the people in that carriage were religious figures, she might be able to use her status as their savior to ask them for information about the Church, such as how to meet the Pope and what to pay attention to in the Ymir Church’s territory.
In addition, it must be said that Yisi and her party’s current identity was that of minor nobles from the Hels Kingdom. They were coming to the Holy City of Mitters Bayer because their family had fallen on hard times and they were seeking refuge with a distant relative. Among them, Camilla and Edith, who naturally possessed a noble aura, were the second and third young ladies respectively, while Yisi and the others were their accompanying servants.

…
Teleportation magic was a lost art in this world, and it would be troublesome if ordinary people saw it. Yisi did not teleport directly to the center of the battle, but chose a higher vantage point to observe—unlike the plains of the Blood Clan’s territory, most of the Ymir Territory was hilly.
Surrounded by the bandits was a single, extremely plain, one might even say dilapidated, carriage. Anyone who saw it would think it was the ordinary type used by traveling merchants or specifically for carrying passengers. There wouldn’t be much profit even if it was robbed. But what was unusual was that this carriage was protected by four burly guards on horseback.
“What a failed disguise.” Camilla murmured in a low voice, it was unclear whether she found the other party pitiful or foolish. “If you’re worried about attracting attention, at least have the guards sit inside the carriage. Doing this, using a shabby carriage while having guards who are clearly not ordinary adventurers, is tantamount to sticking a sign on your face that says you’re hiding something good.”
After speaking, Camilla turned to Yisi with a mysterious expression.
“Onee-sama, the people in the carriage shouldn’t be that smart. After we save them, we can demand a large reward. If they don’t pay, according to the precepts of the Ymir Church, they will be forcibly detained by the Church until they pay us our reward.”
No, no, it’s not a question of whether they will comply. While I’m not kind enough to not ask for anything in return, I won’t take advantage of their predicament.
While complaining internally, Yisi’s gaze drifted towards the carriage surrounded by bandits below. For some reason, the guards protecting the carriage gave up resisting the moment they saw the bandits, disarming and surrendering. Seeing this, the bandits didn’t waste time on the guards and went straight for the carriage. After the leader got into the carriage, he forcibly dragged out a girl with light-green pigtails, long and narrow eyes, and who looked to be about fifteen years old. Her primarily white priestess’s habit was inlaid with a red cross with gold trim. Her fair skin and pitiful expression gave a very fragile impression.
However, before evaluating the girl’s appearance, there was obviously something more worthy of attention.
With a strange look, Camilla raised her eyebrows.
“Is that… Tiffany?”
Whether it was the light-green hair or the deep green eyes, even the pigtails and the lines of her face were identical. The girl’s appearance was simply like a scaled-up version of Tiffany.
Yisi was also hesitant.

“Tiffany is still sitting properly in our carriage. If I’m not mistaken, this girl must be the original model Tiffany imitated. The reason Tiffany looks the way she does now is because she used ‘Mimicry’ magic. It’s a small world.”
“Let go of me! I am one who serves God, do not defile me with your filthy hands!”
The girl tried to break free from the bandit’s grasp, but was ultimately dragged from the carriage by force. Her voice sounded less like an angry rebuke and more like a desperate plea to Yisi’s ears.
If it weren’t for the Omniscient Map, Yisi would definitely jump down now to stop the bandits, but the feedback from the Omniscient Map just made a large question mark pop up over Yisi’s head.
“Onee-sama, should we go down?”
The girl’s beautiful looks and desperate pleas clearly aroused the bandits’ interest. The words “one who serves God” further incited their desires. A group of bandits was already walking slowly towards the girl with lecherous grins, beginning to unbuckle their belts.
Yisi stopped Camilla, who had raised her staff.
“Let’s just go.”
“Eh? Why? We can get a huge reward from them, and that priestess could provide us with information.”
“That’s not the problem.”
Yisi waved her hand, but it was at that moment that a loose stone rolled down the slope, causing the bandits at the foot of the hill to spot Yisi and Camilla above.
“Who’s there?!”

While the bandits were turning around, the girl shouted to Yisi.
“You up there, save me!”
Hey, didn’t you just have a “Tch, meddlers” look on your face?
Of course, Yisi’s thoughts could not reach the girl’s heart. Forced by the bandits raising their crossbows, Yisi let out a long sigh.
“Except for the leader, they’re all grunts below level ten. Camilla, you deal with the crossbowmen. I’ll go down and capture the leader in front. Be careful not to kill these bandits.”
“Are we taking them to the next city to exchange for a bounty?”
Why is it always about money?
Is it because I recently put her in charge of our living expenses that she’s suddenly become so calculating? Or was she stimulated when I praised Andrea as being a good future wife?
Unable to understand Camilla’s thoughts, Yisi shook her head.
“Well then, I’m going down first.”
“Yes, Onee-sama.”
Slowing her speed as much as possible to maintain it at around a level twenty equivalent, Yisi charged straight for the leader.
