Volume 6, Chapter 86 – Epilogue
Volume 6, Chapter 86 – Epilogue
Leaning her left leg over her right, Evelyn stared at Yisi with an unusually resentful gaze.
“If you had lent me Camilla and Refina before, I would surely be much more relaxed now.”
“I did pass on the message for you. It’s not that I wouldn’t let them help you.”
Camilla had refused Evelyn on the grounds that she only served her Onee-sama, while Refina had been unable to help because Edith was unwilling to lend her out.
With a look of great vexation, Evelyn tapped her head lightly.
“Then what about you? Are you unwilling to help me? To be honest, I’m even thinking of borrowing some people from Andrea. All the talents I promoted in the past are in the Blood Clan’s territory.”
“If Andrea agrees, and you can guarantee that the people from the Blood Clan won’t be treated as heretics by the believers, I can help you bring them over. But I can’t guarantee that Andrea’s people won’t secretly take the church’s secrets back with them.”
Although neither Andrea nor Evelyn had deep-seated racial discrimination, and could even be said to be racial egalitarians, their respective subordinates were not necessarily the same. And even if they were friends who had a deep soul connection, they still had to consider the responsibilities on their shoulders. Not to mention attacking the other party, they had to first ensure that they would not be harmed by the other party.
Understanding this, Evelyn let out a frustrated grunt, like a child who couldn’t get a toy.
“Aaargh, damn it. Is it too late for Andrea to become the Pope and for me to become the Blood Clan Queen now?”
“It’s too late.”
Yisi’s merciless verdict sent Evelyn into a bout of self-recrimination. After about five minutes, she finally returned to normal.
“Forget it. It’s the same if you help me.” Evelyn leaned her upper body forward with a very expectant look and extended her index finger towards Yisi. “Just one month. One month. How about you be my assistant, Yisi? I heard from Tiffany that you were the one who helped Andrea settle the internal strife in the Blood Clan. You must be very good at political affairs, right? I will give you a generous reward. Even providing a bed-sharing service is not a problem.”
“No…” Yisi twirled the ends of her hair in a troubled manner. “I admit I helped Andrea a lot, but I just gave her a push from behind. I didn’t use any means to get rid of her enemies or anything. To be honest, I have no political talent. And even if I did, I wouldn’t be able to help you for a month.”
“Tsk, is it because I’m a woman with a mature charm, while Andrea is a little girl who easily arouses one’s desire to protect her? Although I have no experience, I guarantee I can definitely do better than Andrea.”
As if feeling proud, Evelyn placed her right hand on her full bosom.
This one has absolutely no sense of chastity.
Of course, Yisi was sure that Evelyn did not have romantic feelings for her. The reason she would say things like bed-sharing was because she had no such concept and completely regarded her as a dear friend. Similarly, Yisi also regarded Evelyn in this way.
“Andrea and I are pure! How could I do that kind of thing to her? To this day, I have maintained the self-disciplined habit of sleeping alone.”
“But I’m special, aren’t I?”
Mary chimed in at an inappropriate moment.
Yisi immediately felt a gaze on her that was as if looking at trash.
“No, no… I did invite Mary to sleep with me, but that’s because she’s warm, and I have a vampire constitution with a relatively low body temperature. It was just sharing a quilt, and nothing happened. We were also properly wearing our pajamas.”
Even with Yisi’s refutation, the disdainful look in Evelyn’s eyes did not soften. Left with no choice, Yisi could only randomly stroke Mary’s hair to prevent her from saying anything more, while changing the subject to another direction.
“Speaking of which, are you alright now, Evelyn?”

“Alright with what?”
Evelyn tilted her head in confusion.
“The matter of your identity.”
Although Evelyn had seemed fine that night, after she had dealt with the angel and had brought the fleeing Julius back before her, and the dust had settled, Evelyn had appeared quite listless. Clearly, she was not indifferent to the truth Julius had told her, but had just suppressed her feelings in her heart, unwilling to show them.
Come to think of it, it was only natural. The person who hated the Fallen the most had in the end discovered that she was also a Fallen. No matter who it was, it would be difficult to accept such a reality.
Sensing the meaning in Yisi’s words, Evelyn was silent for a moment, took a sip of her black tea, placed it on the table, and said with a calm expression.
“So what if I wasn’t born of a human? It’s all Julius’s fault, and he has already been killed by my own hands. I’m not the type to blame myself. That would be looking for trouble. As for the Fallen I killed, even if I hadn’t hunted them down, they would have been killed by the hunters and the Inquisition Knights sooner or later. Besides, I don’t know their names and can’t compensate for their families. The only thing I can do is to restore their status and prevent similar things from happening again.”
Unexpectedly optimistic? But this was the Evelyn she knew, a personality that wouldn’t look for trouble for herself.
“Also, the batch of magic medicine you gave me is almost used up. If you don’t tell me the production method, I’ll have to trouble you to replenish a batch. The magic medicine is a key item in promoting the normalization of the Fallen.”
“Mm, I’ve already placed it in the passage on the fifth level before I came. But I only gave the concentrated magic medicine. The normally used magic medicine needs to be prepared by you, Evelyn. You only need to take a very small drop of the raw material and mix it with a large amount of water to get the finished product. This batch can probably make about two hundred thousand bottles, enough to cure a small half of the continent’s Fallen.”
“You’re really something.”
A look of joy flashed across her face, and the worried look on Evelyn’s face instantly disappeared.
However, Yisi looked at the ceiling with a very guilty conscience.
The medicine she had initially used to cure the Fallen was the lowest-grade healing potion in [Ragnarøk]. Although there were more than a hundred thousand bottles, it couldn’t change their status as consumables that would be gone after they were used up. So in the past half a month, she had spent a lot of time, using mixed blood as a breakthrough, to find a mixed blood that could eliminate the Fallen Mark.
She didn’t know whether to say it was the grace of God or her own good luck, but it had only taken a week for the mixed blood to produce results. By just mixing the body fluid of a forest slime, the blood of any Fallen, the blood of a lower-class demon, and her own saliva together, she could obtain a magic medicine that could cure the Fallen Mark. And all the magic medicine she had prepared could be diluted with a large amount of water. One drop of the raw material could make a whole barrel of magic medicine.
Of course, such a magic medicine was not without its drawbacks. As soon as Yisi thought that in the future, countless Fallen would be ingesting her saliva, she had an uncomfortable feeling all over—this news must never be released. Otherwise, she would surely become a pervert known throughout the continent.
“But why are you unwilling to tell me the raw materials, Yisi? Since you’re providing the magic medicine to us for free and have no intention of controlling the church through this method, wouldn’t it save a lot more trouble to just tell us the formula?”
“Ahaha…”
“You always try to fob me off with that expression. Well, since you’re unwilling to say it, you must have your own reasons. I won’t make things difficult for you.” Evelyn waved her hand and jumped to the next topic.
“Regarding the matter of the Heart of Ymir, it’s still the same. I haven’t found any results. The ball of light that Julius described as having come out of the Tower of Ymir and drilled into my body, there’s no record of it in the church. And I’m still the same as in the previous experiment. I can’t leave the Tower of Ymir for a long time. Otherwise, my magic power will quickly disappear, and I’ll become an ordinary person. Julius must have foreseen that there would be a problem if I left the Tower of Ymir, which is why he didn’t allow me to go too far from Mitters Bayer.”
“It still hasn’t changed…”
Yisi frowned slightly.
In Julius’s description, Evelyn was a product created by both the Tower of Ymir and the ball of flesh. And Evelyn could use the Tower of Ymir to wield the Staff of Divine Retribution. So Yisi had naturally deduced that there was some kind of unbreakable connection between Evelyn and the Tower of Ymir. After Evelyn became the Pope, Yisi had immediately taken her to conduct an experiment of leaving the Tower of Ymir. As a result, Evelyn could not leave the Tower of Ymir for a distance of more than a hundred kilometers. Otherwise, she would become an ordinary person, no different from a commoner, due to the exhaustion of her magic power.
“If there were any clues, Julius would have found them long ago. If even he doesn’t know, then it’s even more impossible for me to know the reason. Well, it’s not like I’ll die if I leave the Tower of Ymir. I’ll just become an ordinary person with no strength to fight back. It’ll be fine as long as I bring more guards with me when I go on tour in the future.”
Although Evelyn said it in a very relaxed manner, there was a look of regret in her expression. She herself was probably not very confident.
I’ll try to gather clues as much as possible when I’m traveling around the continent.

Yisi silently kept Evelyn’s matter in her heart.
“Right, and the blessing of the Tower of Ymir. I’ve been thinking about it for a long time recently and have decided to continue using it. I’m different from the previous twenty-three Popes. I don’t have a devout faith in the Goddess. Besides, I’m not even human. I have no qualifications to believe in the Goddess from the beginning. So I don’t plan to be the one to expose all this, but to use the Tower of Ymir to continue my rule.”
“If I had to say the difference between me and Julius, it would be that I use the tower for myself, while Julius uses it for the Goddess. Come to think of it, I’m much better than him. A believer should not ignore the process in pursuit of the result.”
“In that case, Pepe would surely become a very excellent believer.”
“Is that so? Although vampires also have their own gods, that one doesn’t seem like a person who believes in gods.”
Evelyn raised her eyebrows in surprise.
Yisi said with a wry smile.
“I mean, she wouldn’t ignore the process in pursuit of the result. Pepe is very stubborn in this aspect.”
“I see.”
No one continued the conversation. Only the clinking of cups and plates was heard in the room. This silence did not seem awkward. On the contrary, it gave a kind of indescribable tacit understanding. Just like when people saw the brilliant night sky, they would involuntarily quiet down to appreciate it. The three of them enjoyed this tranquility.
After an unknown amount of time, Yisi finally chose her words and said intermittently, as if she found it difficult to speak.
“Actually, I came here to tell you something, Evelyn…”
“Are you leaving?”
“You’ve already guessed it?”
Yisi widened her azure eyes slightly. Evelyn, on the other hand, waved her hand as if she didn’t care. Her gaze was filled with only frankness—and a trace of imperceptible reluctance.
“You said before that you would leave, and you looked so preoccupied just now. I thought it could only be this. Where are you going?”
“I haven’t decided yet, but for now, I’m aiming for the Norta Empire or the United Kingdom further south. I’ve heard that it’s easier to meet the legendary children of fortune in the south.”
“Mmm… is it for Mary’s sake?”
“Mm.”
Yisi nodded.
The room was once again filled with silence, but this time it was not because of a tacit understanding.
Parting was always a heavy matter.
After a full half a minute, Evelyn finally let out a long breath, as if to expel all the foul air from her chest. A forced look flashed across her face.
“Hah—if you want to go, then go.”
“Won’t you feel lonely by yourself?”
Rеaԁ оո КαtRеαԁiոɡCαfе
Lowering her eyelashes, there was a hint of loneliness in Evelyn’s eyes.
“Of course I will, but there’s nothing I can do about it. You’re not the type to stay here just because I say a few words. But I still have to say, if you’re tired, you can always come to me to rest. The gates of the church will always be open for you.”
“Mm, I’ll also come back to see you often—as a dear friend.”
“Pfft,” Evelyn let out a laugh. “You… Don’t get me wrong. Even if you don’t emphasize ‘dear friend’, I won’t have that kind of feeling for you.”
As she spoke, Evelyn wiped the corners of her eyes with a very natural motion and waved her hand at Yisi with a feigned ease.
“Right, you still owe me a favor.”
“Haven’t I already paid it back? With the matter of the Fallen.”
Evelyn frowned her beautiful brows and deliberately put on a fierce look.
“Hey, hey, you unilaterally annihilated the angels and then put the credit on me. You don’t really think that counts as paying me back, do you?”
“Eh? Didn’t you agree at that time?”
“I’ve changed my mind now.”
“Mmm.”
To be honest, she also had a feeling of having forced a sale.
Yisi sighed helplessly.
“Alright, alright. Let’s just say I still owe you a small favor, Evelyn. Have you thought of how you want me to repay it?”
“Didn’t I say before that I would give the person who stole the necklace a good beating?”
“But you also said before that a beating was too light for me.”
“That was the old me. Now, immediately, stand up.”
A step ahead of Yisi, Evelyn stood up from the sofa. Yisi could only follow. With her level 427 strength, just the difference in stats meant that Evelyn could not do her any harm.
“Alright, alright. Just watch from the side, Mary. Don’t come over.”
Just like last time, Yisi stood in the open space of the room, her arms spread and her eyes closed, in a posture of letting Evelyn beat her up as she pleased.
Then, Evelyn, under Mary’s worried gaze, retreated step by step. It wasn’t until her body hit the desk that she finally stopped. Then, she bent down slightly, in a sprinting posture. After pouring enough strength into her legs, she suddenly shot out like an arrow released from a bow.
In just an instant, Evelyn had rushed in front of Yisi.
And then.
Evelyn came to a dead stop. Her hands behind her back, her lips lightly touched Yisi’s cheek.

“Eh?”
The strange sensation on her cheek made Yisi open her eyes. But Evelyn had already playfully turned around. At an angle that Yisi could not see, she suppressed the trembling of her fingertips under her priestess’s habit, lightly wiped the corners of her eyes, and said with a feigned ease.
“…This is enough.”
—This is enough.
End of Volume 6
Author Note
Afterword
This volume is longer than the others, so it seems like it’s been a long time since I’ve written an afterword. That being said, Yomi doesn’t know what to say. With an indescribable feeling, the sixth volume ends like this.
How should I put it? The ending was set from the beginning, but when I was writing, my feelings unknowingly became heavy. But I still feel that this is the best result.
In the outline, Evelyn and Yisi are always just friends. Even if Yisi helps Evelyn a lot, Evelyn still has a normal sexual orientation. The two are dear friends to each other. However, as I wrote to the end, I found that the parting scene was too sad. Unknowingly, after considering it for a long time, I felt that the current ending is the most suitable. But the price is that even after I finished proofreading, that heavy feeling is hard to get out of my mind. I don’t know what to say.
Of course, I’m not saying that Evelyn and Yisi will have no relationship from now on. The subsequent plot will still appear, probably like Andrea. The reason why I say it’s heavy is that I feel that this feeling of having a hint of affection but being hesitant to speak is very subtle, like something is stuck in my chest, difficult to express. Hmm… it might just be my personal feeling. Reading and writing are two different concepts. If all the subtle feelings the author feels are described in action, it will become very cumbersome and difficult to read, so I’ll stop my rambling here.
Alright, first is a review of this volume. This volume is mainly about the story of the church. According to my original writing style, I should have written some plots of interacting with ordinary people of the church first. But after a quick look at the detailed outline, I found that if I were to write it that way, the word count of this volume would have to be dragged to at least three hundred thousand, and the plot progression would also be very slow, so I appropriately trimmed some branches and leaves.
Overall, I really like the character of Evelyn. She has the feeling of a good gal pal, very approachable. That naughty little mind of hers is particularly charming. If she were a girlfriend, she would definitely be the type who would wake you up angrily every day, and then be fine after a little coaxing. Mm, so cute.
Ah, when I think of this, I think of the promise between Yisi and An-chan. If she were to go for Evelyn, wouldn’t that make her a scumbag? It’s really a dilemma.
Forget it, let’s just skip to the preview of the next volume.
The stage of the next volume will be different from Yisi’s expectations. Due to some things, Yisi will go to the northern Hels Kingdom, which is the second largest human nation bordering the Niru Diocese and the Pescia Territory. The elements included are divine-era puppets and demon lords. She will also interact with many more ordinary people. And after the end of this kingdom volume, as long as I don’t think of a better idea in the middle of it, according to the development of the outline, she will come into contact with the secrets of the continent. The demon lord factions, the Tower of Alexia, Mary’s origins, and the Empire will gradually surface. Look forward to it.
Alright, I’ve got enough word count for the afterword. Finally, thank you, dear readers, for your collections, likes, subscriptions, and rewards. If the results are good this month, I might be able to rush to the S-class, and then I can get a good-looking cover from the website. Just subscribe, just subscribe! At least until the end of this month QAQ, I’m very grateful!
Finally, thank you, dear readers, for following this far. I will continue to work hard to write better stories in the future. Thank you, dear readers, for your encouragement.
