Volume 1, Chapter 36 – Dangerous Experiment
After finishing dinner, Yisi and Camilla teleported to the empty Niru Forest. The wilderness at night was eerily desolate, devoid of even the cries of birds or beasts, like a predator lying in wait, evoking an unsettling dread from the depths of one’s heart.
The biting wind made them instinctively pull their clothes tighter. Yisi exhaled deeply.
“Haah, a proper meal at last.”
The culinary skills of this world were simply abysmal. Dishes that looked exquisite often tasted oddly off. Left with no choice, Yisi had to take matters into her own hands to improve the recipes. Though the lack of seasonings like MSG or soy sauce was frustrating, basic techniques—like slicing ingredients into thin strips—were manageable. In this world, whether meat or vegetables, everything was typically served in large chunks, making it hard to eat with chopsticks and even harder for flavors to penetrate.
But today, all that had changed. Not only had the recipes improved, but even the MSG issue was resolved. Yisi had ordered the servants to boil poultry resembling chickens into broth, then drizzled it over finely sliced dishes as a substitute for MSG. Thus, today marked the first time since arriving in this world that Yisi had enjoyed a truly satisfying meal—second only to the taste of Camilla’s and her pets’ blood.
“Did Onee-sama also inherit Ouranos’s knowledge? Tonight’s dinner was more delicious than a noble banquet.”
Originally, Camilla wasn’t allowed to dine at the same table as the eldest daughter of the count. But thanks to Yisi’s orders, she no longer had to eat leftovers with the servants.
“Hmm? Ah, you could say that…”
Yisi brushed off the question with an awkward laugh, her gaze lingering on Camilla for a moment longer.
With the superior night vision of a vampire, she could clearly see Camilla’s emerald-green dress, the woolen cloak wrapped around her upper body, and even the white gloves she wore for warmth. Combined with her flowing golden hair and crimson eyes that seemed to reflect one’s image, she gave off the illusion of being an elf.
Did she change clothes specifically for this? Or was it because I told her not to wear the same outfit all the time?
“What does Onee-sama wish to experiment with?”
“Ah.” Camilla’s question snapped Yisi out of her thoughts. “Weapons.”
“Weapons?”
“Yes. Since it might be a bit dangerous, I wasn’t planning to bring you along initially. But now that you’re here, we can add another test to the list.”
What Yisi wanted to test was whether weapons from Ragnarøk could be used in reality. Though the success of magic potions suggested that equipment should work as well, she had yet to verify it firsthand. If she ever needed to use them in a critical moment and they failed, regret would be pointless.
Of course, she hadn’t come out here just to test one weapon. Yisi intended to try out every weapon in her arsenal. If time permitted, she’d also review the skills she hadn’t had the chance to practice last time.
And then there was the most intriguing subject of all—the corpse of the Demon King Ouranos.

Dissecting a corpse might seem disrespectful to the dead, but Yisi didn’t believe Ouranos had possessed any true intelligence. Thus, she felt no disgust or guilt at the thought. To her, it was merely a creature far larger than ordinary animals.
Since Ouranos had been a Mythic-grade monster, even in death, its remains could offer insights into the pinnacle of this world’s power. Yisi planned to start with its skin, methodically testing its bones and other components to gauge the corpse’s durability.
Normally, a corpse left for over half a month would have begun to rot. But Yisi had discovered that her storage seemed to halt time—items placed inside didn’t change at all. For instance, hot water stored days ago remained scalding when retrieved. This was also why she could store blood indefinitely without it coagulating.
“Alright, let’s start with the basics.”
With a flash of red light, a spear as tall as a person appeared in Yisi’s hands. This was the eldest daughter’s weapon—Gungnir. Its shaft was engraved with countless intricate runes, its material so translucent it seemed forged from crystal, emitting a dark red glow in the night. At first, Yisi had suspected it was made from radioactive material, but she later realized the glow came from magic circles inscribed within.
“Gungnir… Fits a vampire strangely well, doesn’t it?” With that thought, Yisi blinked and glanced back at Camilla, her golden hair shimmering. “Camilla, do you have a sword called Lævateinn?”
“Lævateinn? What’s that?”
“Uh, never mind.”
She was overthinking things.
Yisi secretly stuck out her tongue. First of all, she wasn’t a purple-haired shorty, and second, Camilla wasn’t a vampire. No need to force some weird roleplay scenario.
The reason she’d taken out the count’s daughter’s weapon was to test whether she could wield this world’s arms. She couldn’t be certain that the mana in her body was the same as this world’s. If her mana couldn’t activate Gungnir, she’d have to avoid using this world’s magical tools in the future.
Following the instructions from the magic tome, Yisi gathered the mana lying placidly like a lake within her, channeling it to her right index finger. Then, she visualized an opening—not a cone, but a simple hollow. If she imagined a cone, the vast mana would condense into a formidable weapon—Enchanted Blade.
In an instant, Gungnir responded to Yisi’s mana with a soft hum. Rows of magical runes along the spear flared brightly in sequence.
This was the precursor to a spell’s activation.
Unlike ordinary magical weapons, where more enchantments meant higher rarity, Gungnir bore only a single spell—one with a singular effect: Guaranteed Hit.
Of course, this [Guaranteed Hit] required quotation marks. Unlike the Gungnir of Norse myth, which could reverse causality, the count’s daughter’s spear merely granted an auto-tracking effect.
Even so, this single attribute elevated Gungnir to the rank of Orichalcum-grade magical weaponry—second only to the human limit of Crimson Gold and the divine artifacts of Mythic grade. Like adventurer rankings, magical weapons were categorized from lowest to highest as Wood, White Iron, Mithril, Orichalcum, Crimson Gold, and Mythic.
The spear’s hum became the only sound in the night. Once the mana reached its peak, Yisi locked onto a hillside a kilometer away, then deliberately twisted the spear’s trajectory so it wouldn’t hit the target before hurling it.

She could clearly see the spear adjust its path mid-flight, homing in on the spot she’d initially marked.
A moment later—
BOOM.
Dust and shattered rocks erupted from the hillside. The spear had struck true.
The conclusion? Yisi’s mana was compatible with this world. They were one and the same.
“Ahh, retrieving it later is going to be a pain.”
“…Can spears even be thrown that far?”
Beside her, Camilla’s lips parted slightly in surprise. The rare display of cuteness made Yisi puff out her chest with pride.
“Normally, no. But for me, it’s no problem. I could probably throw it even farther.”
Her strength far exceeded that of ordinary people. She hadn’t even used her full power this time to avoid damaging the spear.
“Ever since the day with the Holy Knight Commander, I’ve been meaning to ask… Can Onee-sama really only destroy a single city? It feels like you could wipe out the entire Niru Diocese without breaking a sweat.”
“No, no, that’s exaggerating way too much.”
Yisi hastily waved her hands. For starters, the Niru Diocese was half the size of Honshu. And then there was the issue of the Alexia Tower within it. According to continental history, the tower could drain leyline mana in emergencies to erect powerful defensive barriers. Though there might be some exaggeration from the Church, given that it could supposedly drain entire leylines, its power was likely immense.
If it were an Overrank Magic, even a few more like it would be obliterated. But Yisi wasn’t level 999—she couldn’t cast Overrank Magic. Of course, this was all speculation. Until they actually clashed, nothing was certain.
“Next up.”
Marking Gungnir’s location, Yisi summoned a slender blue staff this time. Its shaft was octagonal, topped with a hexagonal snowflake the size of a human head, overlaid with a design resembling the sun from ancient Egyptian murals. Merely looking at it exuded an overwhelming pressure.
Twilight of Eternal Frost.
Rеаⅾ оո KαtReαdіոɡСαfе
One of the top ten magical weapons in Ragnarøk. Though any player could equip it regardless of level, that didn’t mean it was weak. On the contrary, precisely because Twilight of Eternal Frost grew alongside its wielder, it quickly became one of the most coveted weapons in the game. However, it could only be obtained through limited-time gacha events, so fewer than a hundred players owned it. Yisi was one of the lucky few.
“The strongest weapon… I wonder if it’ll still obey me.”
Unlike Gungnir, Twilight of Eternal Frost had no innate spells—it only amplified the user’s magic.
Recalling how it felt in the game, Yisi raised the staff with one hand, slowly pouring mana into it. The air instantly grew thick, a bone-chilling cold seeping into her marrow as if she’d been plunged into an icy abyss.
[Eternal Nightfall.]
Crack, crack, crack—
A series of sounds, like ice sheets colliding, echoed from all directions. Frost rapidly spread across the ground, and before her brain could process it, the frost vanished—replaced by thick turquoise ice. In the blink of an eye, the world transformed into a frozen wasteland, with auroras even dancing across the sky.
“Achoo! D-dispel it!”
Shrinking into herself, Yisi hurriedly shook the staff. The ice melted away at visible speed, leaving no trace of water behind—as if everything had been an illusion.
“It works, but the power might be a bit excessive.”
Even distant Niru City must have felt that sudden chill.
The ice had spread far beyond Niru Forest. If she hadn’t stopped it in time, it would have doubled in range—and height.
Keep in mind, Eternal Nightfall was only a Tier 20 spell. If she’d used a Tier 40 spell like Storm of Crows or Meteor Swarm, casualties would have been inevitable before she could react.
“Better not use this weapon casually.”
Twilight of Eternal Frost—sealed.
Afterward, Yisi cycled through several other items. The conclusion? All of them retained their effects, much to her relief.
“Next, testing whether I can equip weapons beyond my level.”
Normally, this wouldn’t matter—her inventory had nothing exceeding her level. But Camilla’s presence gave her the idea to distribute lower-tier gear to strengthen her.

Unfortunately, aside from growth-type weapons like Twilight of Eternal Frost, the lowest-level gear she owned required Level 40 to use.
Just to be safe, Yisi first tested a Level 40 item herself—a bell called Gift of Christmas. Though it was originally a gag item from a holiday event, in this relatively low-powered world, it proved useful. Ringing the bell summoned a Level 20 reindeer to charge at a target.
As expected, a reindeer materialized mid-air—though “reindeer” was a stretch. With six legs and sinister purple fur, it was more of a monster. It vanished after crashing into the ground, leaving behind a half-meter-deep crater. Not exactly devastating, but serviceable.
Confirming it was safe, Yisi handed the item to Camilla.
“Your turn, Camilla.”
“Are you sure? Summoning items usually have limited uses.”
“It’s fine. If you can use this, I’ve got better weapons for you later.” Yisi couldn’t help but imagine Camilla wielding a Level 100 weapon to pummel the Holy Knight Commander. She handed over the golden bell and stepped back. “Just visualize where you want the reindeer to attack and shake the bell.”
“If it’s Onee-sama’s order, then I’ll comply.”
As if performing a sacred ritual, Camilla straightened her clothes, then raised her right hand. Unlike Yisi’s casual movements, every subtle gesture of Camilla’s exuded noble refinement.
Then, she rang the bell.
Gurgle, gurgle.
Instead of the crisp chime from Yisi’s shake, an ominous bubbling sound emerged—like water about to boil over. Even when Camilla stopped in alarm, the noise continued from all directions.
The stench of something burning filled the air.
A heartbeat later, as if scalded, Camilla reflexively dropped the bell with a startled gasp.
Half a second later, the bell—now mid-air—erupted in orange-red light. A wave of scorching heat instantly licked at Yisi’s cheeks.
“Tch.”
BOOM!
At point-blank range, Gift of Christmas exploded violently, its blinding flash illuminating the night sky.
