Volume 1, Chapter 41 – Blazing Eyeworm
After leaving the Niru diocese via Advanced Teleportation, Yisi and Camilla appeared in the mountainous forest belonging to the vampire Hyurent.
“Whew, that used up about a third of my mana. Hopefully, no one saw us.”
Choosing a relatively flat area, Yisi set Camilla down and let out a sigh of relief.
“Are you alright, Camilla?”
“I-I’m fine.” Perhaps due to the intensity of the battle, Camilla seemed utterly exhausted. The moment her feet touched the ground, she slumped onto a nearby fallen log, scanning their surroundings. “Onee-sama, where is this?”
“The deep mountains of the Pescia territory. After using such a conspicuous spell in the city, it wouldn’t be good if we were seen, so I teleported us here.”
“That divine miracle…”
Without pressing further, Camilla leaned her chipped broadsword against the log. As Yisi had observed, had the rescue come any later, Camilla’s condition would have been far worse than mere exhaustion.
The sunlight-deprived forest was eerily dark, with countless vines coiled around towering, withered branches. At the slightest breeze, they swayed like phantoms. Combined with the approaching winter chill, the gloom and dampness made one instinctively pull their clothes tighter.

“Onee-sama, what should we do next?”
“We’ll rest in the forest tonight and return to Niru City tomorrow afternoon. By the way, Camilla, do you know about high-tier demons?”
As dusk fell, Yisi naturally began gathering dry branches. Though no expert in wilderness survival, she had experience with camping. Without a bonfire, surviving a late autumn night would be difficult. Moreover, fire kept most wild beasts at bay—a two-for-one benefit.
“High-tier demons? Do you mean the generals under the Demon King’s command?”
“Mm, exactly.”
“I only know of the Eight Fallen Angels under Ouranos. The subordinates of Tartarus and Styx are unknown to me—those two Demon Kings only appear in the southern continent.”
“The Eight Fallen Angels?”
Yisi’s voice rose slightly. Though she knew this world bore similarities to Ragnarøk, she hadn’t expected even the Eight Fallen Angels to be identical in setting.
Pausing briefly at Yisi’s surprise, Camilla continued, “Yes. The Eight Fallen Angels are Azazel, Ariel, Anshibai, Sanyangsha, Camael, Sariel, Samael, and Rahab. Among them, Anshibai, Sanyangsha, and Rahab were slain during the millennium-long war—by the Vampire Queen Alvier VII, the Dragon King, and the Human Alliance, respectively. Only five of the original eight remain.”

“Slain, huh…”
In other words, aside from the Vampire Queen, the Human Alliance also possessed forces capable of rivaling the Eight Fallen Angels. Her low-profile approach had inadvertently spared her from many dangers.
Well, the fact that the Church chose to confine me even after learning of my city-destroying power means they weren’t particularly afraid of me. I should’ve realized that sooner.
Clicking her tongue, Yisi refocused on preparing for their stay.
“I’ll scout the area. Stay here, Camilla.”
“Yes, Onee-sama.”
Her tasks included not only gathering firewood but also clearing out monsters and venomous creatures.
With the aid of her Omniscient Map, this wasn’t difficult. Yisi even caught some seemingly delicious game, though lacking cooking tools and seasonings, she could only store the carcasses in her inventory—after ensuring they were dead, of course, as living creatures couldn’t be stored.
Nearly half an hour passed before Yisi fully cleared the area of monsters within a one-kilometer radius. In truth, it shouldn’t have taken so long, but along the way, she encountered many creatures that also existed in Ragnarøk, prompting her to observe them briefly. As a result, she noticed that the monsters in this world were generally weaker. Even the troublesome Sprout Drake Grass from Ragnarøk was nothing more than a Level 10 creature here.

“Severe lack of intel… Could it be that I’m actually ridiculously strong?”
Shaking her head, Yisi began walking back to Camilla’s location—only to halt abruptly.
“Maybe I should mobilize resources to gather information. In that case, summoning a magical messenger would suffice.”
Hired hands might provide false information due to conflicting interests, but a magically conjured messenger had no such concerns. Though messengers could only follow orders without any initiative, their absolute loyalty was a boon.
With that thought, Yisi snapped her fingers.
“[Summon Blazing Eyeworm.]”
As sparks gathered, a palm-sized, jellyfish-like crimson creature floated before her. Atop its umbrella-shaped body, a disproportionately large eye swiveled incessantly.
Though the Blazing Eyeworm couldn’t integrate into society like humans or gather information through interaction, it could serve as Yisi’s extra eye. Whenever she wished, she could establish a connection and observe the world from its perspective.
Moreover, Blazing Eyeworms didn’t require sustenance—their only means of replenishing mana was absorbing heat. By commanding them to scout from altitudes beyond a kilometer, there was no risk of being spotted by humans.

“Well, the only downside is the quantity limit. I can only summon one per hundred levels, so four is my current max. Summoning more would require dismissing the first.”
Sighing regretfully, Yisi snapped her fingers three more times. Four Blazing Eyeworms now hovered before her in perfect formation.
“Gather intelligence for me. Explore uncharted territories of this continent.”
In response, the jellyfish-like creatures shot off in four directions, vanishing swiftly into the ashen horizon.
“Hope they find something interesting. Hmm—maybe even someone with champagne-flavored blood.”
Recalling the taste, Yisi shook her head, her waist-length white hair swaying behind her. Her long lashes lifted, revealing deep blue eyes beneath.
To anyone familiar with the Count’s eldest daughter, this would seem like the prelude to a new hunt—a moment of predation. Indeed, the way Yisi licked her lips now was both terrifying and strangely alluring.
“How exciting…”
Her murmur dissolved into the wind, unheard by anyone.
