Chapter 33: The Rival Always Wants to Taste Him Again [33]
Chapter 33: The Nemesis Can't Stop Wanting Another Taste of Him "33"
Shi Mo stood in the corner, watching the scene unfold at a leisurely pace.
447 asked curiously: [Xiao Momo, why did he suddenly start going crazy? Did you use your power to control him?]
Shi Mo chuckled lightly: [Trash like him isn't worth my power.]
[I just bought a little something from the system mall—a drug that messes up his limbs—and mixed in some laxatives.]
447 nodded thoughtfully: [No wonder he still seems lucid but can't control his body.]
[But with this mess, a lot of people online are saying he's lost his mind.]
[His popularity has been pretty high lately, and this just shot straight to the top of the trending searches.]
[The Lin family noticed and is scrambling to get the trending topics taken down.]
[But that aside, this has blown up so big—Lin Ran proposed to you in front of so many people, and Ye Qi hasn't even shown up.]
Shi Mo toyed with the cup in his hand, watching the carefully decorated restaurant descend into chaos, a faint smile curving at the corner of his eyes:
[Ah, probably because he finally remembered what he should be doing.]
447 fell silent for a moment, then went to check Ye Qi's current whereabouts and gasped.
[So those projects the Lin family snatched from the Ye family—Ye Qi let them go on purpose.]
[While he was clinging to you, he also made a deal with Cheng Ziyu to set a trap for the Lin family!]
[Wait, how did he manage to pull all this off behind our backs?]
447's tone was full of disbelief.
In his view, Ye Qi had done nothing but cling to Shi Mo this whole time, yet he'd been scheming in the shadows.
Shi Mo wasn't surprised at all—he'd already sent all of Lin Ran's plans to Ye Qi.
Since Ye Qi was the male lead, he naturally knew how to prioritize things.
The way he'd been clinging to Shi Mo this whole time—besides using the chance to get close—wasn't it also for show?
Lin Ran was too busy soaking up traffic and attention to notice much, but Lin's father wasn't someone to mess with.
The Lin family thought they were teaming up with others to carve up the Ye family, but they didn't realize they were the ones getting carved up.
Still, glancing at what 447 had found, he raised an eyebrow, a little surprised.
Ye Qi had done more than he expected.
But with how busy he'd been lately, he still managed to find time for that kind of thing with Shi Mo.
Should he really be impressed that this was the male lead? His stamina was something else.
But if he thought about it that way...
Once Lin Ran was dealt with, wouldn't Ye Qi have less time to set up his schemes, and thus more time to...
Shi Mo fell unusually quiet, thought it over briefly, then brushed the thought aside.
After all, he was a succubus—how much more stamina could Ye Qi really have?
The other people in the restaurant had been arranged by Lin Ran beforehand, and someone had called the police, making the already chaotic scene even messier.
Shi Mo had seen enough entertainment and had 447 record enough footage; he slipped away when no one was watching.
But he didn't expect that when the elevator doors opened, seven or eight thug-looking guys were standing inside.
The group looked fierce, with hair dyed all sorts of colors, holding clubs, and sucking on lollipops.
Of course, his focus wasn't on them—it was on Ye Qi, who was standing at the front.
Ye Qi had apparently just rushed over; a thin layer of sweat was on his forehead. He wore a well-tailored suit, gold-rimmed glasses, and his hair was perfectly styled, his expression utterly indifferent.
But the moment the elevator doors slid open, that indifference shattered, replaced by shock and panic in his eyes.
Shi Mo raised his foot to block the elevator door, smirking as he watched Ye Qi, who was so nervous he didn't know what to do with his hands.
"Tsk... Young Master Ye really knows how to make an entrance. Everyone dyed their hair, but you didn't—that's a bit antisocial of you."
The others exchanged awkward glances, not knowing whether to leave or stay.
They shot pleading looks at Ye Qi, who just turned his head away and coughed lightly:
"You've got it wrong. I don't know them. I was just nearby for a business meeting, came over for a meal, and happened to run into them downstairs, so we came up together."
"Yeah, yeah, that's right! Don't misunderstand, bro—we just ran into each other."
A red-haired guy laughed as he explained, nudging the yellow-haired guy beside him with his elbow, and the guy nodded eagerly.
"We're here for that Lin Ran guy!"
"He had us do a job before and never paid the rest. Heard he's eating here today, so we came to collect. You know where he is?"
Watching their clumsy act, Shi Mo didn't want to call them out or stick around.
He stepped aside and pointed them in the right direction:
"He's over there. Go ahead."
Hearing that, the group let out a collective sigh of relief, as if granted a pardon, and hurried out of the elevator without daring to look back.
447 remarked: [So that's why he didn't come find you—he went to round up backup.]
[He's planning to beat Lin Ran up in front of everyone and pin the blame on him too.]
Sending a bunch of thugs to cause trouble was indeed a practical and quick fix.
But watching that scene just now, 447 was only stunned for a moment before quickly finding it normal.
Lin Ran had been openly trying to steal his man—Ye Qi staying calm would've been the real surprise.
447 thought for a moment: [Though I reckon he's still trying to ruin Lin Ran's image in your eyes.]
Shi Mo stepped into the elevator and glanced at Ye Qi, who was still tense, not daring to look at him or speak.
"Didn't you say you were hungry and wanted to eat? Not going out with them?"
Ye Qi mumbled a weak defense: "I really have nothing to do with them. Don't misunderstand..."
He kept a fairly calm expression, but only he knew how nervous he was inside, and how terrified he was that Shi Mo's opinion of him would drop because of this incident.
He rehearsed countless words in his head and thought of countless excuses to explain, but couldn't get a single word out.
Shi Mo chuckled softly: "Then how about we go eat together?"
Ye Qi was stunned for a moment, then his eyes brightened. He immediately pressed the elevator button, moved closer to Shi Mo, and smoothly took his hand.
The whole sequence was smooth and effortless. After completing the motion, he gave a slight nod:
"Mm."
Seeing that Shi Mo didn't let go of his hand, Ye Qi's heart soared. He tilted his head up a bit and turned to look at him,
"Why don't we go home and I'll cook for you?"
Ye Qi had always believed that Shi Mo agreeing to make him his lover had everything to do with his soup.
After all, the online tips all said that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach.
And Shi Mo did indeed quite enjoy the soup he made.
Since that was the case, he naturally wanted to make even more delicious food for Shi Mo, keeping both his heart and stomach firmly in his grip!
Ye Qi's eyes held a hint of anticipation, and his voice was low and husky:
"A Mo, let's go to my place."
Shi Mo arched an eyebrow, gently squeezing his fingers, his voice tinged with amusement:
"What could we eat at your place?"
"Master Ye, are you going to make me noodles again like last time?"
Ye Qi seemed to think of something, his gaze wandering, a faint blush spreading across his face and his ears turning hot. For a moment, he couldn't find the words.
Shi Mo took in his reaction, the curve of his lips deepening, a glint of interest appearing in his eyes.
Indeed, teasing a little puppy was the most fun...
He had just turned his head away when he heard Ye Qi beside him speak softly, as if nothing had happened:
"If you want, I can make noodles too."
