Author's Leave Request

March 29th. Clear skies.

According to the Zombie Planet’s Planetary Will, He had deliberately withheld the little girl’s identity from me to make me more vigilant. HE said that I had grown overly reliant on my ability to control zombies and had lost the most basic sense of caution.

The Blue Planet’s Planetary Will had tacitly approved of this behavior. Clearly, He shared the same view.

Indeed, if I hadn’t possessed this ability and had still been an ordinary person, I would never have so readily trusted a little girl running through the wilderness. Ultimately, this whole incident stemmed from my hubris. I ought to reflect on myself.

When we played hide-and-seek with the little girl inside this building, she was agile and nimble as a cat. It was genuinely not easy to beat her. Fortunately, the Strength Zombie King, the little girl, and I could use our abilities.

One of the rules stated that we couldn’t collapse this residential building. Thus, the Strength Zombie King and I had studied the building’s structural blueprints in advance, paying special attention to the load-bearing columns. Knowing where those columns were gave me confidence. My initial plan was to have the Strength Zombie King rampage through the building, crashing through door after door. Surely we would find the little girl eventually.

However, the moment the Strength Zombie King smashed open the first apartment door, a strand of hair tied to it detonated, sending him flying backward.

Good thing I had kept my guard up and got the Strength Zombie King to scout the path ahead. With his thick and coarse skin, a single blast didn’t injure him seriously.

But if this was just the power of one strand of hair, what about ten or twenty strands, or even an entire lock of hair? The Strength Zombie King would definitely have been blown to pieces. It seemed the little girl had no intention of killing us.

Still, we could no longer afford to act so recklessly.

Thinking about it more closely, the little girl had been controlling the detonation, timing each explosion to the instant a door swung open. That meant she had to be watching from somewhere nearby… Wait a moment, the building still had electricity. Was she using the surveillance cameras?

I ordered the Strength Zombie King to go outside the building and cut the power. Sure enough, there were no more explosions.

Then, I instructed the Strength Zombie King to bring some black cloth and cover every window in the building. Plunged into total darkness, we would have no choice but to rely on our hearing—and I could sharpen mine.

The residential building had become my home ground.

When we finally caught the little girl, she looked unhappy, unwilling to admit defeat. In the end, I controlled the Strength Zombie King and had him fight her before she conceded and allowed me to take control of her.

That was a week ago.

I’d originally planned to subdue a third Zombie King, but there is no time left. The Zombie King Tournament is fast approaching. The three of us are making our way to the venue now.

Traveling today. Taking a day off.
