Chapter 59.1

“There are no clouds today. I’m so relieved.”

Three days flew by. It was the day Nadia decided to go see the flowers of the millennium tree with her maids.

Fortunately, the sky was sunny without a cloud.

The maids were very happy to see flowers under the full moon.

“The weather has been quite warm lately but it’s cold at night. You should wear a thick coat.”

“Yes.”

Later in the middle of the night when the full moon rose overhead.

Nadia stepped outside, clad in thick clothes. There was a big smile on the faces of the maids attending her.

‘What’s the use of that?’

The maids weren’t allowed to leave the compound at bedtime.

They seemed excited to be able to proudly boast that they were going with their Madam.

At this point, she was seriously curious about what this tree looked like.

“It’s near the north gate. You haven’t been there often, have you?”

“Because it’s on the opposite side of the main house.”

The place where the maids guided her was a place that she passed only once while looking around the castle the other day.

A large tree stood tall in a vacant lot that felt somewhat desolate.

Nadia could tell without further explanation. That’s the millennium tree.

Nadia looked up at it and thought.

‘I didn’t notice it when I was passing by, but it’s quite big…’

Nadia thought the tree might have really lived a thousand years. There was also a sense of spiritualism.

She thought that if it was such a tree, she would try to conserve it by changing the structure of the wall.

“Hey, do you see that- thaat sparkling thing?”

“Are you talking about the one on the right?”

“That’s the flower of the millennium tree. A flower that blooms only one night a year.”

“Oh, my.”

Nadia exclaimed.

It was surprisingly beautiful to see even for her, who grew up looking at all kinds of luxurious crafts in the capital.

The petals seemed like overlapping very thin glasses.

Every time it shone under the moonlight, it shone differently with colorful light.

It was only at that moment that Nadia understood why the maids made a fuss about going to see the flowers.

“If you make a wish on that flower, love will come true!”

“I’m sure the Marquis will change his mind soon.”

She felt sorry for the girls who got excited, but Nadia had a completely different idea.

“But… those flowers, it doesn’t grant any other wishes other than dating problems?”

“Yes, because the spirit in this tree is the third daughter of the goddess of love.”

Oh, that’s too bad.

Nadia kicked her tongue in her heart. She secretly wanted to wish that she got her revenge in her previous life.

‘If it doesn’t grant it, what wish should I make?’

Nadia didn’t want to make a wish for Glenn to love her.

Of course, she didn’t think that the flowers would really grant her wish, but it would be a problem even if it did.

If Glenn turned to love her now, it would be quite difficult.

After much consideration, Nadia decided on a wish to ask the Spirit of the Millennium Tree.

‘May Glenn Winterfell, lord of the land you have rooted in, live happily with the woman he loves one day…’

By then, she would be a rich divorcee and enjoy a leisurely life.

The wish that one day Glenn would live a happy marriage was sincere.

Although Nadia meant no harm, it was true that she caused a great deal of inconvenience during the triumphal ceremony.

‘I hope one day he can find happiness with the woman he really likes.’

Nadia made a sincere wish.

When the maids raised their heads after a moment of silence, they chatted among themselves and looked at Nadia.

Lisa asked.

“Are you done?”

“Yes.”

“It will surely come true. The Marquis of Winteerfell and his wife are famous for their good fortune from generation to generation. Even though it was mostly a political marriage.”

“It is said that it is because the Spirit of the Millennium Tree has given them protection.”

“Really? That’s too bad… I mean, it’s interesting.”

It was a slip of the tongue.

It is a pity that the tale of the Winterfell lord couple who was said to have a good relationship for generations, would break in this generation.

“Have you girls finished looking at it?”

“A little more, a little more please. Do you happen to want to go back to your bedroom?”

“No, I don’t…. But if you still want to look at it, you can stay around.”

There was no reason not to show kindness since it only happened once a year.

After a while, Nadia turned away with the maids who had fulfilled their wishes to their heart’s content.

The destination was, of course, the bedroom in the main house.

In order to head from the vacant lot where the millennium tree was located to the main house, they had to go around the inner fortress.

It was a little closer to go to the north side of the castle than to go south, but since there was no reason to take a longer way, leaving the shorter one their only choice.

There was never really an agreement, but they naturally chose to pass through the north gate.

As they were walking near the north gate,

“Stop right there!”

A group of guards who appeared out of nowhere blocked Nadia’s way.

The maids couldn’t believe they were being surrounded by guys at night. Surprised, Lisa pulled Nadia back and shouted.

“What, what are you doing?”

But the surprise lasted for a moment as the maids checked the men’s clothes and immediately breathed a sigh of relief.

’What? They were castle guards.’

“Oh, that scared me.”

Some women were rushing around in the middle of the night, so they seemed to come to check.

If they identified their Madam, they should respectfully step back.

But contrary to their expectations, the situation did not seem very easy.

The chief of the guards, who seemed to be the head of the guard, put out his personal plaque in front of Nadia and said.

“My name is Tristan, Captain of the Resistance Guard. Excuse me, Madam, but may I ask where you were headed?”

Contrary to the polite attitude, he wasn’t being respectful. Nadia replied calmly.

“I was on my way to my bedroom.”

“What bedroom?”

It was a voice from behind. Everyone’s eyes turned to the voice.

A group of people were walking through the darkness that fell in the background.

It was Mrs. Grace, the owner of a sharp voice walking on the lead.

She cried out in a distasteful voice.

“You thought I didn’t know you were trying to sneak out of the castle during the night?”

“I don’t know what you’re talking about, Madam. Why am I sneaking out of the castle at this hour for?”

“It’s so obvious! Do you think you can continue to make excuses after this?”

Mrs. Grace threw something in her hand to the floor like it was a dirt.

Everyone’s eyes turned downward. It was rolled up letter paper.

Nadia picked it up and flipped it over and looked. It was a familiar letter paper.

“This is my letter to my father. What’s wrong with this?”

“You don’t have to ask me because you wrote it with your own hands, do you?”

“I just said hello and talked about how I was doing in the North. If you’ve read it, you’ll know.”

“What a funny girl! You’re still evading it.”

Mrs. Grace turned her head and said.

“Give it to me.”

“Yes.”
