Chapter 163

Chapter 163 Genebank and Breeder Certification Privileges

Inside the examination room, Locke felt that he still had to protect his teacher, even though this person was his great-grandmother.

Locke explained calmly, “Lady Morgana, I advanced too quickly. I was promoted to a first-class wizard apprentice this year, and I have only just come into contact with the library’s article system.”

“Teacher Sophia is very nice to me.”

Lady Morgana frowned slightly.

If she follows her method of cultivating geniuses, the wizard seedling should be arranged to publish some D-level articles or even C-level articles when he is at the third-class wizard apprentice stage.

In this way, when this genius is promoted to a first-class wizard apprentice, he will already have a lot of experience in publishing articles and have accumulated a certain amount of articles.

In this way, you can quickly be awarded various titles and obtain various benefits.

It can also increase her reputation and strengthen her network of relationships.

Of course, this is the method used by academic tycoons to cultivate geniuses among their opponents, but Witch Sophia is different from her and has no connections.

Moreover, at first, Witch Sophia’s perception of Locke’s development speed was wrong.

Her initial plan for Locke was to be promoted to a second-class wizard apprentice within five years, which would be considered a success!

Lady Morgana snorted. “You have a good relationship with your teacher.”

“Never mind, whatever.”

“Sophia is still a little too willful.”

The other two official wizards looked at each other and said nothing.

This is a grudge between a master and his apprentice. They’d better pretend not to hear it, so as not to end up in a situation where they are neither accepted nor condemned.

Madam Morgana looked at all the candidates and announced, “Locke Augustine, you have passed the Breeder Examination.”

“Obtained formal breeder certification.”

She handed Locke a golden seedling-shaped badge and said, “Becoming a breeder is just the beginning. I hope to see more outstanding performances from you in the breeding field in the future.”

“A breeder’s responsibilities aren’t just to cultivate combat-type magical plants, or to provide magical plants as raw materials for potions to potion masters. A breeder’s responsibilities are to explore the wonders of nature, maintain the balance of the natural ecosystem, and use the cultivated magical plants to better serve the wizarding community.”

Madam Morgana said, “Some breeders only research magical plants that are used as ingredients for potions, or magical plants that are used as ingredients for alchemy, while some breeders only research magical plants that are used as energy sources.”

“Breeders should improve the resource utilization rate of wizarding society and improve the magical plant ecosystem. Any other actions are a deviation from the right path. This is the only way to unleash the breeder’s greatest strength. Researching combat magical plants is just a waste of time. Developing a magical plant that can cause an energy revolution is more meaningful and can increase the academy’s overall combat effectiveness.”

Madam Morgana smiled at Locke and said, “I hope that the next time I see you, you can cultivate a good functional magic plant instead of another combat-type magic plant.”

The last two sentences of Lady Morgana clearly contained personal opinions, trying to convey her ideas to Locke, and even to make Locke fully agree.

Locke’s gaze fell on the badges on Lady Morgana’s white wizard robe, including Lady Morgana’s masterpiece – the Magic Sunflower.

That is a high-level magic plant.

The magic sunflower can efficiently convert the sun’s rays into magic power and provide it to wizards for use.

There are many applications on wizard ships, some areas that require a lot of magic power to maintain barriers, alchemical equipment, or in wizard secret realms.

It is said that the energy source for the academy’s secret weapon in the deepest part of Lilith’s cabin is provided by the magic sunflower garden.

Locke finally understood why Witch Sophia had a falling out with Lady Morgana.

“Teacher Sophia’s advice to me in the field of breeding is to research and cultivate the type of magic plant that I like.”

“You didn’t suggest that I research combat magic plants, or some kind of functional magic plants.”

“But Madam Morgana is different. She seems to favor functional magic plants, especially energy-type magic plants.”

‘And because of her preference, she also wants her students to like this type of magical plant.’

‘She has a higher control over her students.’

Locke understood. “I’m afraid Madam Morgana is more willful. So of course she fell out with my teacher. My teacher just seems easy to talk to.”

But Locke didn’t dare to say this out loud.

Locke took the badge from Lady Morgana. “Thank you, Lady Morgana. I will keep working hard.”

“Recently, I’ve been developing a new type of magical plant that can be used as a potion material.”

Although I spent another month to modify it into a defensive combat magic plant variant.

After hearing this, Madam Morgana smiled and nodded, “Not bad.”

“From now on, you can just call me Madam Morgana. Since you are Sofia’s student, you are also my student’s student.”

Madam Morgana seemed delighted by Locke’s statement that he was developing a new type of magical plant for potions. “Directly developing combat-type magical plants would be too inefficient for improving the academy’s overall strength. A genius like you should focus on something more permanent.”

Locke kept smiling, then let it go in one ear and out the other…

“Ma’am, you are right.”

Madam Morgana said, “After becoming a breeder, you gain certain privileges that a breeder’s assistant doesn’t have. The others are scattered and insignificant, but there are three that are more important.”

“First, you have the right to use the college’s germplasm bank.”

“Secondly, you have the right to conduct more dangerous breeding experiments. The White Wizard Association’s review requirements for you will be much lower. The list of items that were originally prohibited for breeder assistants to grow will have some restrictions lifted on you.”

“Third, you have the right to apply for medium-sized plantations first.”

Madam Morgana said, “But these are actually secondary. The Breeder Certificate Badge represents that your abilities have reached the standards of a formal breeder at this stage.”

“It’s a recognition of your abilities by others and by you.”

Locke waited for her to finish her words, then bowed to Madam Morgana and said, “Madam Morgana, I understand.”

In fact, each of these three privileges is very useful.

The germplasm bank is the seed bank of Lilith Hut Academy, which stores various magical plants and seeds of various varieties. Some seeds are even mutated seeds. They are only used for preservation and research and cannot be bought from the outside world.

If you can buy seeds from the germplasm bank, you can buy many magic plant seeds that are not available at the Chimera Market.

Of course, the price of seeds in the germplasm bank is generally higher, several times higher than that outside.

The second privilege undoubtedly provides me with great convenience.

But the most crucial privilege is the third one, which is the priority to apply for medium-sized plantations.

Locke pursed his lips. When he first applied for a medium-sized plantation, he was immediately squeezed out by people with connections.

But now that I am an official breeder, if I use this privilege to apply for a medium-sized plantation, I don’t know how the college’s top management will handle it.

But this is my power, and I must use it immediately.

What other people think is none of your business.

In the examination room.

The other four candidates looked at Locke with envy as he took over the badge representing his official breeder status.

There were five candidates in this exam, but only Locke passed.
