Chapter 28 Sophia the Witch
After Yuli Burns led those wizard seedlings with level five and six qualifications away, Locke and Lawn discovered that they were assigned to different teachers among the remaining wizard seedlings.
The letter from Lawn said: Mr. Hammerk Us, a first-ring wizard of the School of Transmutation, a mentor of the Southeastern Corner Light Energy Society, a mentor of the Lilith Hut Medical Wizard, and the inventor of the Death Ray Curse.
The letter in Locke’s hand read: Sophia Seraphina, a first-ring wizard from the plant magic sub-direction of the School of Life.
Laun was surprised and asked, “Why does the mentor assigned to me have a lot of titles, but the mentor assigned to you only has the simple title of a one-ring wizard?”
Locke said indifferently: “Who knows.”
“Anyway, the title of an official wizard is the most valuable. Laun, I’m going to the designated location on the letter first.”
Lawn also said goodbye to Locke, “Okay, but I think the situation is that after we start school, we will probably have to find a place to live in the city of Lilith’s cabin.”
“Why don’t we live together so we can take care of each other.”
“You and your two friends don’t seem to be assigned to the same wizarding academy. It’s the same here.”
“I can’t trust anyone else either.”
Locke naturally had no objection to this. “Okay. When I get back from Teacher Sophia, we’ll meet again here.”
Patty stayed at the University of Verdantia, while Code was rejected by the University of Verdantia and finally joined a small wizarding organization called the Crow’s Rest Brigade.
The wizarding organization called [Crow’s Rest Brigade] seems to have only one first-ring wizard. It is a wizarding organization that was established recently and lacks apprentices.
So Locke agreed immediately.
Living with Lawn is also beneficial to him, as it can ensure the safety of both parties.
Moreover, Lawn was a good person and not one who liked to pry into people’s affairs, so he didn’t need to worry about exposing any of his secrets.
Carrying his luggage and the letter of recommendation, Locke crossed the port city of Lilith’s cottage and headed to the wooden house on the southwest edge of the port city.
Along the way, because he was obviously a wizard apprentice, no one dared to stop him, and people walking on the street silently gave way when they saw him.
The status of a wizard apprentice seems to be very high here.
Locke soon reached the edge of the port city and saw several simple wooden houses standing in the fields ahead.
The wooden houses are surrounded by a circle of pebbles.
When Locke crossed the cobblestone circles with the letter of recommendation, the stamp on the upper right corner of the letter in his hand suddenly emitted a red light and became hot. Then Locke crossed the barrier and entered the wooden house.
Lilith Cabin is an open wizarding organization, so the buildings of this wizarding organization are scattered in different nearby cities.
But without a special token, outsiders cannot enter these wooden houses, or even get close to or see them.
After entering the cobblestone barrier, Locke discovered that these cabins were actually very tall and had a large interior space. There were many experimental instruments and a large number of books placed in the cabins.
Locke looked at the occupied wooden house in the middle.
Inside the open office door, a young witch wearing a monocle and a gray wizard hat with a vine wrapped around it was sitting at her desk, using a feather pen to quickly record an extremely complex spell model.
The witch wrote very quickly, and it took her about three minutes to draw a very complicated spell model diagram, and then she would throw it aside with great dissatisfaction.
Her desk was already piled half a person’s height with spell model drawings.
“Hmm? Strange little wizard apprentice, what’s the matter with you coming to my office? I’m very busy now.” Teacher Sophia didn’t look up. She continued to draw the spell model while speaking. Her voice sounded very young, as if she was in her early twenties, and even her tone sounded very childish.
Locke was a little surprised. He didn’t expect that this mentor Sophia was unexpectedly easy-going.
He took out the letter of recommendation and said, “Teacher Seraphina, I am Locke Augustine, a new student at Lilith Lodge this year.”
“The academy has assigned me as your student, and I’m here to report.”
Sofia Seraphina paused with the quill in her hand upon hearing this. She then raised her head, revealing a very young face. She looked somewhat stunned and said in surprise, “The academy actually assigned a student to me.”
“But I haven’t even signed a contract with the college yet.”
Sophia coughed, trying hard to project the dignity of a wizard mentor and first-ring wizard, as if she had only just realized her identity. She even cast a spell to change the color of a flower on the vine of her wizard hat from pink to a more majestic white.
Sophia waved her hand, and the letter of recommendation in Locke’s hand flew into her hands. After a quick inspection, she said, “This is indeed the seal of Lilith’s Cottage.”
“It seems that the higher-ups have assigned you to me.”
Sophia muttered. “It seems the academy wants to keep me as long as possible. But…”
Sophia looked at Locke and explained, “Okay, Locke Augustine, right? I’ve looked at your file, and level three qualifications are neither high nor low. But qualifications are not everything. As long as you study hard, nothing in the future is certain.”
“Because I became an official wizard a month ago, I don’t have any first-class wizard apprentices that I personally taught, that is, your seniors.”
Sophia seemed a little guilty. “So, from now on, I’ll teach you all your professional courses myself. Is that okay?”
“When I was a first-class wizard apprentice, I also taught many courses for first-ring wizards, so I’m not a complete novice in this area.”
Locke blinked, and he finally understood why the mentor on Lawn’s recommendation letter had a bunch of titles, while the mentor on his own recommendation letter only had a simple title of first-ring wizard.
It turned out that this was because his mentor had only been an official wizard for a month.
In other words, Witch Sophia is essentially a first-class wizard apprentice who has just become a formal wizard.
She naturally had no airs, and she didn’t have any first-class wizard apprentices to teach, so she had to teach it herself.
But this is a good thing for me.
After all, only by becoming a second-class wizard apprentice could one have the opportunity to meet a formal wizard, and it would be good enough if one could meet him a few times a year.
But now, due to this special situation, I am essentially taking every professional course as a formal wizard.
