Chapter 38: Fast-growing Gel
Five days later.
Wesley Durant glanced at the blue magic flame of the crucible in Locke’s hand.
Under the fumigation of the magic flame, the mixed liquid in the crucible gradually evaporated and turned into a light green gel-like substance, just like glue.
It was a simple potion made by mixing distilled morning dew from oak leaf tips with fluorescent moss in a ratio of 3:7.
It is the simplest entry-level potion, and it can hardly even be called a potion.
Therefore, it can only be called fast-growing gel.
Fluorescent moss is a supernatural plant that can often germinate and reproduce in a very short time in the wild.
This is because it contains a substance that accelerates plant growth, and the fast-growing gel is extracted from this substance using magic flames.
Although this gel potion is simple, it is something that breeders often need to buy because it can accelerate the growth of magical plants.
Locke was a little surprised and said, “Teacher, Master Durant, this is the first time I have made a potion independently.”
Witch Sophia’s expression remained unchanged, and she nodded slightly. “This simple thing can be attempted to be refined by anyone who masters magical flame techniques, so it can’t be considered a potion yet.”
Wesley Durant used his good arm to lift the glass bottle of fast-growing gel, inspecting it. He said, “The quality is pretty good. Although it’s a novice’s work, it’s barely usable.”
“It’s just that there are still a lot of impurities, which means that the magic flame technology you master is not very stable.”
“It’s worth it for me to guide you personally.”
“Once your magical flame technique becomes more stable, the quality of the fast-growing gel you refine should be able to improve by several levels.”
Wesley Durant discovered that Witch Sophia was serious, and after Locke failed several times, he finally couldn’t help it and personally started to guide Locke.
Under the guidance of Wesley Durant, he asked Locke to try to practice refining the simplest potion to speed up his mastery of the technique of magical fire.
Of course, Locke cannot be said to have learned the magic flame now. He has only learned how to use one type of magic flame, and he is not proficient in it.
Because Wesley Durant was not Locke’s wizard mentor, nor was he an official wizard of Lilith’s Cabin, he did not have the same burden as Sophia the Witch, and his tone to Locke was much more casual.
“Although, Augustine, your learning speed is not very fast, even a little slow, your magic power is very stable.”
“You must have a special talent in this area, otherwise you wouldn’t be able to use magic flames in just five days.”
“Of course, your foundation is also very good.”
Wizard Wesley said, “You are much more useful than the students I taught at Holly Tower.”
“Sophia, you look like a good student. Why don’t you give him to me?”
Locke was stunned for a moment, but he immediately remained silent.
Essentially, Wizard Wesley was just playing a joke on his teacher.
Locke wouldn’t be stupid enough to actually think that Wizard Wesley Durant would be interested in him.
If he can’t even see this, then he is really seeking death.
Wizard Wesley only has a good relationship with his teacher, Witch Sophia.
That’s all.
Besides, I know how I got this talent.
Without the twenty-five dark blue gems and ten navy blue gems that were scrapped within these five days, it would have been impossible for him to master a magical flame in just five days.
Witch Sophia smiled and said disapprovingly, “Sure. But you should go talk to the headmaster of Lilith’s cottage yourself.”
“My student has quite a few contracts for Lilith’s Hut.”
“As long as Wesley can afford the magic stones, I have no objection to taking him away.”
Wesley Durant chuckled softly. “Forget it, then.”
“How can I feel comfortable poaching someone right in front of them?”
“I’ve heard of the reputation of the headmaster of Lilith’s Cottage. After all, he’s a first-ring wizard with crystallized spiritual power. I wonder how strong his magic pressure field is.”
Wesley Durant’s expression turned serious. “Okay, let’s get back to the point. Sophia, I know you haven’t just been letting this little apprentice of yours practice these past few days.”
“What do you think? Are you sure?”
Witch Sophia nodded. “Well, this is indeed my first attempt at breaking the Blood Curse Tribunal’s Thousand Wounds Curse. But I’m confident that within these five days, I’ve refined the formula of my Emerald Potion.”
“It should be able to remove the curse on you.”
“Locke, please go out first.”
Witch Sophia was indifferent and said, “Your magic flame technology is not yet mature.”
“To refine the Emerald Green Potion, you need to use more than twenty different magical flames within an hour. With your current skills, it is impossible to achieve the requirement.”
“Therefore, I will be the one to control the magic flames when refining the potion this time.”
“Remember to go to the public classroom and purchase the Everything course. Also, go to the Lilith Hut registration office to register your current magic level and claim your rewards.”
“The academy will also have different task requirements for second-level wizard apprentices.”
Locke nodded. Before leaving, he said to Witch Sophia and Wesley Durant, “Thank you, Teacher and Master Durant, for your guidance.”
Then Locke turned around and left the potion room.
After Locke left, Wesley Durant sneered, “Sophia, you’re such an interesting student.”
“It seems that you found a nice toy in the short time you have left at Lilith’s cabin.”
“I heard that other wizarding organizations are trying to recruit you, and you haven’t signed a contract with Lilith’s Hut yet…”
Witch Sophia frowned slightly. “Wesley, don’t get me wrong. Locke is my student, not my toy.”
Wesley Durant raised his rotten left hand. “To a proper wizard, what’s the difference between a student and a toy?”
Witch Sophia waved her hand, and suddenly five crucibles floated in front of her. At the same time, five colors of magic flames burned on them. Powerful magic pressure flowed from her, making Wesley Durant look solemn.
“You talk too much, Wesley.”
Outside the door, as soon as Locke closed the door, he felt a huge pressure emanating from the wooden house of the potion room, as if a heavy mountain was pressing on him.
My heart seemed to be carrying a huge weight, and for a moment, it even stopped.
An invisible pressure that cannot be touched or seen is coming from all directions, penetrating his skin and shooting towards him.
Locke’s pupils faltered for a moment. “Magic pressure… When a wizard’s mana gradually increases, it radiates energy to living things, creating a mana field.”
“Just like the effect of gravity on everything.”
“Is that the power of a formal wizard? Just being near a formal wizard is fatal to me right now.”
Locke’s eyes grew firm. “So, I will definitely become a First Ring Wizard.”
“First, I need to register my wizard level and purchase the Everything course as required by the teacher.”
“Everything is a prerequisite for Breeding and Potions. Only after I master this course can I continue my studies.”
Locke looked at the bottle of fast-growing gel in his hand. “I can refine fast-growing gel now, and I can also sell it and exchange it for some magic stones.”
A thought flashed through his mind – what would happen if he synthesized the fast-growing gel he had refined?
