Chapter 967
Chapter 961 Rejecting the Witch King’s Legacy
Locke examined the power of the third World Leaf. Each World Leaf, besides containing the second-level magical pressure common to all World Leaves, possessed a unique energy-locking structure. His first World Leaf possessed the power of energy concentration, a blade that could concentrate all magical pressure to a single point. His second World Leaf possessed the energy-locking structure of life force enhancement, a blade that could enhance life energy—the foundation of his Tree of Prosperity.
Locke looked at the third World Leaf in his hand. Under his activation, this World Leaf had automatically combined and transformed into a blade, wreathed in flames and high temperature.
“This is fire power enhancement,”
Locke pondered. However, his Three-Eyed Tiger Cat lacked fire attributes and couldn’t fully utilize the power of this World Leaf.
But there was nothing
he could do about it. Each World Leaf was unique and unparalleled. Obtaining three was already considered lucky. Some wizards, even upon encountering World Leaves, wouldn’t recognize them as World Leaves, thus missing their opportunities.
He couldn’t choose the attributes of the World Leaves.
“If all else fails, I’ll try to add some fire magic attributes to my Three-Eyed Tiger Cat bloodline. That way, it won’t be a waste of the energy-locking structure of the third World Tree leaf,”
Locke pondered.
At this point, to continue advancing, these two bloodlines needed to be strengthened and completed by himself. The simplest method was to graft the magic power of a fire-attribute magical plant onto the Three-Eyed Tiger Cat, based on the relationship between the Demon Dragon bloodline and the Golden Peach.
However, the only fire-attribute magical plant he possessed was Pinellia ternata, but Pinellia ternata is an Araceae plant, inherently incompatible with the Three-Eyed Tiger Cat bloodline.
Moreover, Pinellia ternata’s summer imagery was too strong; at his current stage, it was very susceptible to the influence of his own magical power, thus affecting his ultimate magic, hindering its forging, and causing him to stray from the right path.
Locke pondered, “Besides that, I also need to find the whereabouts of the fourth World Leaf. Currently, because of the use of the ‘Twin Branches’ technique, the Three-Eyed Tiger Cat bloodline is carrying two World Leaves, so my Three-Eyed Tiger Cat bloodline’s current magic pressure is 20,000. If I can find the fourth World Leaf, it might allow this bloodline to break through the Star Ring’s upper limit and reach the Moon Ring.”
“Of course, I first need to become a Moon Ring Wizard and obtain the fourth World Leaf before I can push the Three-Eyed Tiger Cat bloodline to the Moon Ring. In this process, I can use magical grafting to graft the Three-Eyed Tiger Cat bloodline’s imagery onto a specific magical plant. To be honest, this requires me to be proficient in both potion-making and breeding, because under normal circumstances, the physical form of something cannot be connected to the imagery of a bloodline.”
“Only with a certain level of mastery in Spiritual Arts could I achieve this. However, with my current level, grafting the magical power of a bloodline’s image onto a second-circle magical plant…”
He had to thank the lessons from the Sea Queen; her instruction in Spiritual Arts had indeed greatly improved his level, especially in the application of potions related to name-based potions.
Locke put away the World Leaf.
This harvest was perfect; he not only obtained a spiritual plant that might only exist in the Age of Stars, but also his third World Leaf.
At the same time, Locke heard a scream. He turned to look at Douglas, who was covered in blood. The warhammer lightning had mixed into his blood, creating a peculiar reaction. This blood gradually condensed, slowly coalescing into a new body for the Witch King Lagmamon.
Locke was astonished for a moment.
For a brief instant, he even thought that this so-called inheritance was all a trap set by this ancient Witch King, who only wanted to possess Douglas.
However, if that were the case, he wouldn’t need to fear, because even if the Witch King were resurrected, he probably wouldn’t regain much power. He could assess the other party’s condition and decide whether to fight or make a deal with him.
But Locke quickly dismissed this idea. He felt he had good judgment; the Witch King Lagmamon’s magnanimity shouldn’t be so small, otherwise he wouldn’t have risked eternal slumber to fight off the Dark Lord for him and Douglas.
The Witch King Lagmamon’s new body appeared to be that of a teenager, seemingly 16 years old. Because it was a blood-formed clone, Locke couldn’t clearly see his appearance, but he could still notice the Witch King’s naturally androgynous features.
‘Although my eyes can’t directly see the hidden forms of all things like the Dark Lord’s, I can still see some general outlines now,’
Locke thought. ‘Through that blood puppet body, what I’m seeing should be the spiritual form of the Witch King Lagmamon.’
But was the Witch King Lagmamon not an adult in his previous life?
No.
No matter how gifted he was, a sixteen-year-old third-ring wizard was still too exaggerated. Unless one was born a third-ring life form, even the reincarnation of Old Deng couldn’t achieve that. There must be some special reason why he retained the appearance of a sixteen-year-old boy.
The Witch-King Lagmamon seemed to have some doubts on his face, but his naturally aloof personality meant that even though he was extremely anxious inside, his face didn’t show excessive worry.
“Douglas, how are you feeling now? Don’t give up hope. I’ve used a puppet clone to divert some of the energy from your cells.”
“You must persevere. If you give up hope, your body will collapse in an instant.”
Douglas threw his head back and roared. The next moment, a bolt of lightning shot out from his throat.
The lightning fell into the air, automatically forming a warhammer. The lightning-shaped warhammer smashed towards Locke, but before it could reach Locke, it was blocked by Locke’s permanent defensive field.
Locke squinted, observing Douglas’s condition.
“Are you trying to get him to use the Five Elements Reversal to retain his life force, to compensate for his insufficient life energy accumulation and inability to support the Warhammer Lightning?”
“His problem is that in the state of Metal returning to Earth, the Warhammer Lightning is Metal, and the Warhammer Lightning amplifies the Metal element within him… causing the Five Elements Reversal Permanent Defense Field to lose control.”
The Witch-King Lagmamon looked at Locke and nodded, “It’s troublesome not being able to say your name. Your spiritual science has become even more profound.”
Only then did Locke notice that the magical inheritance of the Lightning Gate actually contained a direct path to the Third Ring from the very beginning. This was indeed worthy of the inheritance of the Royal Court, one of the four magical kingdoms that almost unified the wizarding world and ended the Age of Stars. The Five Elements Reversal of the Lightning Gate inherently contained the idea of turning the impossible into the possible.
So, this is a genuine Third Ring inheritance!
Douglas actually has such a great opportunity.
Locke suddenly laughed. If the Brandy Wizard knew this, he would probably be driven mad with jealousy.
If he had known all this earlier, he wouldn’t have cared about any special grants; he would probably have focused all his attention on Douglas.
However, the magical inheritance of the Lightning Gate is truly perilous, as it uses such a high-pressure energy artifact as a means of transmission.
Locke circled Douglas and asked, “Witch King, can we help him?”
The Witch King Lagmamon’s eyes brightened slightly.
“There’s another way. The magical inheritance isn’t so important now; saving Douglas’s life is. Place your hand on his body and take half of his Warhammer Lightning. This way, you can also possess Warhammer Lightning energy, and he should be able to withstand the remaining half of the magical inheritance.”
“This solves the problem. However, the inheritance of my Lightning Gate will be incomplete. The complete Warhammer Lightning is the starting point for opening the Lightning Gate’s inheritance path. This way, it will be difficult to restore it in the future, and even if Douglas breaks through to become a second-circle wizard, his potential will be exhausted.”
“But this will benefit you. With Warhammer Lightning, you will become even stronger.”
The Lagmamon Wizard King said regretfully, “I always thought you were a better successor, but unfortunately, I met Douglas first, not you.”
Locke knew that when he gave him the Attila Chain Lightning spell model, he already had this kind of thought in mind.
Locke stared at Douglas in silence for a moment, then said decisively, “I refuse.”
The Lagmamon Witch-King asked in surprise, “Why? Half the energy of the Warhammer Lightning would be very useful to you. And with that energy, you could inscribe even more powerful lightning magic onto your Great Blue-Leaf Dragonfly’s magical plant.”
“This would be entirely beneficial to you, and you could even save Douglas,”
the Lagmamon Witch-King said, puzzled. “Why not do it?”
Could it be that their Lightning Gate’s most precious treasure—the Five Thunder Magic—was merely commonplace to Locke, and he didn’t even covet it?
Locke pointed to Douglas, who was still gritting his teeth and persevering, and said, “Because Douglas hasn’t chosen to give up yet, and I don’t want to confuse my magical power. The Five Thunder Magic is too powerful; if I learn it, it will affect my magical path. Therefore, I don’t want to accept the Warhammer Lightning inheritance. Besides… if I can get Douglas to accept the complete Warhammer Lightning inheritance and then have him enchant the Great Azure Leaf Dragon Sparrow for me, wouldn’t I get a better enchantment without confusing my magical path?”
Locke said, “This is truly a win-win situation. This is what is called division of labor. In this era, no wizard should be crazy enough to want to become a polymath and thus reduce their potential.”
King Lagmamon smiled bitterly.
“You really are… you don’t even have the slightest greed for such a powerful ancient magical inheritance.”
The young wizard king’s eyes revealed wariness towards Locke. Locke’s choice just now made him involuntarily wary of Locke.
Because King Lagmamon realized that he seemed to have seriously misjudged Locke, which gave him an unusual sense of loss of control.
“Originally, I intended for Douglas to accept the legacy, but if he couldn’t, I could divide it in two, keeping half for him and giving the other half to this wizard.”
“No matter what happens, I won’t lose out.”
“I assumed wizards wouldn’t refuse such a free benefit, but this man has far exceeded my expectations.”
The Witch-King Lagmamon pondered: “Indeed, if Douglas could fully accept the legacy and serve him, he could create a better Attila’s Chain Lightning enchantment, but that’s contingent on Douglas being capable of accepting the complete legacy and being willing to help him afterward.”
“Does this man so confidently believe that Douglas, after becoming a second-circle wizard, will still listen to him and won’t harbor any rebellious thoughts?” The
Witch-King Lagmamon, hands behind his back, looked at Locke with a scrutinizing gaze.
“If he has such magnanimity and breadth of mind, then what was I to him in the past?” “
Before King Lagmamon lay a web of political intrigues: for the throne of the strongest wizard, humans turned into monsters, monsters masqueraded as humans, fathers and sons turned against each other, brothers fought, elders worried about the desires of their children, and children feared the harm inflicted by their elders.
All these past events seemed so ugly and repulsive in the face of Locke’s actions.”
King Lagmamon sighed, then spoke in a different, unmasked, youthful voice, a voice as ethereal as a solitary orchid, remarkably androgynous.
“You need to save him quickly. And I don’t think the success rate is very high. Although you are a potion master, our Badaklia royal court has consulted many wizards to find a solution to the high mortality rate of the inheritance problem, but none have found a complete solution.”
Locke observed Douglas’s condition. If Douglas had even the slightest thought of giving up, he would have been completely overwhelmed by the warhammer lightning energy within him.
The problem lay in his permanent defensive field, which had been overwhelmed by an excessive amount of metal energy due to the reversal of the five elements.
Locke instinctively pulled out a bottle of Holy Spring Dew potion, but a terrible premonition immediately struck him. He pictured Douglas drinking the potion and exploding the next moment.
‘That’s it. My Holy Spring Dew potion is a super-powerful first-level restorative potion made from seven special lichens I cultivated. But the problem is it’s a water-based energy, and within his Five Elements Reversal Permanent Defense Field, water magic will be reversed into metal magic…’
‘If I dare give it to him, he’ll die the next moment.’
‘Wizards’ permanent defense fields each have their own characteristics; I need to be more careful, because this means each wizard has a different physical condition.’
‘The main problem now is to help his Five Elements Reversal return to normal, which would ideally involve absorbing the metal energy converted from the warhammer lightning. If that’s the case, what can I do?’
‘This might be a subtraction problem, not an addition problem.’ Locke
was somewhat dumbfounded. He had always used potions to heal, strengthen, or weaken himself or others, but in any case, it always involved giving the recipient a potion. However, the magical energy cycle within Douglas was extremely complex, requiring careful consideration before administering any potion.
The only truly subtractive potion he could think of was using potion magic fire to extract the energy from Douglas’s body.
However, considering the high risk of reducing Douglas to ashes, Locke hesitated.
“Hmm?”
Locke’s thoughts stirred slightly. The spiritual plant he had hibernated, the Pagoda Broccoli, automatically appeared from his Astral Ring and hovered before him.
“Can you solve this?”
Locke sensed a pulse emanating from the Pagoda Broccoli, a vibrant life force, a sense of eagerness.
It was telling him it could resolve this problem.
Locke immediately used the [One Tree Cannot Support] spell model, attempting to unleash the power of this magical plant using this universal botanical spell model. The plant, currently in hibernation, floated in mid-air, slowly rotating, before hovering above Douglas.
Locke frowned.
“My energy merges seamlessly with this magical plant’s, giving it a spirituality seemingly different from ordinary magical plants.”
This special soul-based magical plant indeed held many secrets.
This autonomy was something he had never seen in any other magical plant, not even the Tree of Life, but why was it eliminated? The
pagoda-shaped broccoli covering Douglas’s head slowly rotated. The broccoli’s root was hollow, with solid roots growing from its inner surface. Now, as the pagoda-shaped broccoli rotated above Douglas’s head, it suddenly released a terrifying suction force, causing the surrounding magical tides to continuously flow towards it.
Meanwhile, the energy within Douglas was being absorbed by the pagoda-shaped broccoli.
However, the pagoda-shaped broccoli couldn’t distinguish the specific type of energy he possessed, so all of his magical power was being absorbed.
Because of the excess metal energy in the Five Elements Reversal, which couldn’t circulate, metal energy was most easily dissipated. Therefore, the excess energy within Douglas was being absorbed by the pagoda-shaped broccoli above his head
. The hollow root of the pagoda-shaped broccoli, with its inward-curving, energy-locking structure, was continuously drawing energy from Douglas.
Locke quickly realized that this special root could absorb energy remotely without physical contact.
“I remember a very rare energy-locking structure on plant roots, a structure found only on a very few extremely rare magical plants. This should be a type of hollow root.”
“The Pagoda Broccoli actually has such a rare plant root energy-locking structure.”
“Hollow roots can absorb energy from others remotely. So that’s how this Pagoda Broccoli is used.”
Douglas gradually stood up from the ground. “Thank you.”
Two bolts of lightning shot from his eyes, then his wizard’s robes were destroyed by the lightning, his hair stood on end, and balls of lightning energy appeared on his hands and legs. He floated in mid-air, excess energy constantly dissipating from his eyes.
However, that was all excess magical energy within him, not warhammer lightning.
Locke glanced at Douglas, and then he saw that under the infusion of this energy, imaginary roots were slowly growing from the inner wall of his Pagoda Broccoli’s hollow root.
At the same time, the absorbed energy was not only used to restore the imaginary roots, but it seemed that a space had opened up inside the Pagoda Broccoli.
The next moment, Locke’s attention was drawn to the pagoda-shaped broccoli. He saw a hollow space inside the pagoda-shaped broccoli, and a dimensional fragment had automatically appeared inside it.
This dimensional fragment, like a seed of a demiplane, absorbed the excess magical power from Douglas and was nurtured, gradually developing into a true demiplane.
Locke’s figure transformed into a straight line and was sucked into the broccoli floret.
Even the Lagmamon Witch King couldn’t stop it in time.
“This… now look at us, one of us came here together, one’s life hanging in the balance, and the other has been sucked into a cauliflower.”
“On the contrary, I, a mere remnant soul, have actually gained a body that can move.”
The Lagmamon Witch King’s expression was strange.
‘If I use the Black Sun Tower’s sacrificial magic again, I can create a body that can be used normally.’
‘If I had the ambition to be resurrected, I could cause trouble now. But, alas, when I was first resurrected, I still had the mind to cause trouble, but now I only think about cultivating new people.’
This body formed from Douglas’s blood looked up at Douglas.
‘Douglas, how far can you go?’
‘I am a person from the past, and I have lost the ambition to be the protagonist of this era.’ What I want most right now is to see just how far you can go. As for me… a remnant soul being hunted by the Tower of the Black Sun, I’m not too bad off as I am now.
Inside the dimensional fragment space of the Pagoda Broccoli, Locke looked up at the core of this plane, where a phantom spirit floated.
“Is this… asking me to place a magical plant with which I have formed a magical bond?”
Locke’s expression was strange.
He left the Great Crying Dragon Sparrow behind him here. This Great Crying Dragon Sparrow was already enchanted with Attila’s Lightning Chains, making it not only a flying magical plant but also a flying combat magical plant.
At this moment, the Great Crying Dragon Sparrow circled and danced in the sky like a firebird, followed by a whirlwind of flames around it.
The next moment, it disappeared from its spot, transforming into a fiery bird adorning the sky above this dimensional fragment.
“I see,”
Locke said. “This demiplane is something like a flowerpot or nursery, nurtured by the Pagoda Broccoli. So, a magical plant can be placed here, growing inside the magical plant.”
“When I encounter a powerful enemy, I can not only absorb their energy, but also temporarily store them in this space inside the Pagoda Broccoli during battle. At this time, the magical plant I placed here becomes crucial. This magical plant suppresses this layer of space, and also needs to suppress and attack the enemy to disintegrate their resistance and force them to dissipate their energy during battle, thus accelerating the absorption of their energy.” Locke’s expression was strange.
“
This spiritual plant, though incredibly mysterious, is indeed incredibly powerful.”
He looked around. “However, I still need to carefully develop this layer of space.”
Because it is too fragile.
The solid part is the Pagoda Broccoli, a second-ring magical plant, not this fragment of space. Currently, the strength of this fragment of space is too weak; even a first-class wizard apprentice might have a chance to break through this space with maximum output.
There was no other way; after all, it was only a demiplane, not even a fragment of a plane.
However, after placing the flying weapon, the magical plant Great Roaring Dragon Sparrow, inside, things would be much better. At least any ordinary formal wizard entering would be instantly suppressed by this magical plant.
Locke pondered that he could use the Garden Cave Heaven to strengthen this space in the future. Otherwise, the space was too fragile, greatly reducing the practicality of this pagoda-shaped broccoli. Fortunately, he had the Spirit Breath Cultivation Technique from later generations, which could strengthen the space in reverse.
Locke looked the space up and down, determined to make it an indestructible Garden Cave Heaven, thus turning it into the most terrifying weapon.
Moreover, perhaps he could use the special environment here to conduct some experiments.
Locke left the space and saw that the Five Elements Reversal on Douglas’s body had returned to basic normal operation.
Half an hour later, Douglas, wielding a huge iron hammer-shaped lightning bolt, slowly descended from the sky, his eyes still occasionally releasing miniature lightning.
He first bowed to the Witch King Lagmamon, and then bowed to Locke.
At this moment, Douglas’s eyes were filled with weariness, a streak of white hair had appeared on his head, and his body began to decline.
He had entered the period of soul decay.
This was the path a first-circle wizard had to take to advance to a second-circle wizard.
Every day, the magical pressure grew stronger, and every day, his aura weakened.
King Lagmamon said, “It’s good that you’re back, it’s good that you’re back. Now you have mastered the Warhammer Lightning, and all the lightning magic you cast from now on will be enhanced. Your deficiency in the Five Elements Reversal has been corrected, your potential has increased, and you now have hope of advancing to a second-circle wizard.”
Douglas said in a deep voice, “Teacher, I am still far from breaking through to become a second-circle wizard. With my talent, it will take at least ten to fifteen years, won’t it?”
King Lagmamon said, “You’re being too optimistic. I think if you weren’t at Golden Crown Mountain, it might take more than fifty years, and at Golden Crown Mountain, it should be around twenty years. However, if you stay in the Red Dragon Witch’s laboratory for a long time, it will be different.”
“We’ve always gained a lot, haven’t we?”
“So it’s about ten to fifteen years,”
Douglas said. “But I want to progress faster. Teacher, I remember you said there are five types of lightning at the Lightning Gate, and Warhammer Lightning is only one. What’s the second one?”
The Lich King of Lagma looked at Douglas with surprise, quite astonished. “You just went through a life-or-death crisis, you almost died just now, weren’t you scared?”
“Alright, I’ll tell you then, it’s Green Dragon Lightning. But the other four types of lightning no longer exist in this world, although there should be methods for creating them in the inheritance you just received. Each method requires a lot of magical resources. Take Green Dragon Lightning, for example, it requires a green dragon’s claw to create.”
Douglas said in a low voice, “I see, then my next step is to quickly gather the magical resources to create Green Dragon Lightning.”
Douglas looked at Locke and said, “Boss, thank you for helping me this time. I should thank you too.”
Locke’s attention was focused on the huge orc skeletons.
“What are you thanking me for?”
Douglas said. “Thank you for choosing to believe in me instead of absorbing half of Warhammer Lightning’s energy. Thank you for encouraging me to keep searching for life when I was about to give up.”
“Without you and my teacher, I probably wouldn’t have been able to withstand the energy of Warhammer Lightning and persevere to the end to obtain this legacy.”
Douglas bowed to Locke again.
“Boss, thank you for respecting my choice and guiding me towards a better future.”
“In return, I want to work for you in your Aladdin Shop Alliance.”
Locke said, “Don’t talk about returns or anything like that. Favors and transactions should be clearly separated. You want to gather magical resources to create the second Five Thunderbolts, which requires a lot of magical resources. I can offer you a job as a designer in the Aladdin Shop Alliance. That way you should be able to earn some money, and we each get what we need.”
Douglas paused for a moment, then mobilized his inherited memories and explained the approximate magical resources required.
Locke frowned.
“If you want to forge the Green Dragon Lightning within ten years, I’m afraid you’ll need to spend about two hundred million magic stones.”
Douglas’s face turned pale.
He felt as if he had been struck by lightning.
“This…”
He looked at the Witch King Lagmamon.
The Witch King Lagmamon’s expression remained unchanged.
“Yes, the method for creating Five Thunderbolts is based on our Imperial Court’s lavish manufacturing process. This cost is only relative to the current era; many magical materials that were expensive in the past are now cheap and mass-produced. The cost of creating Five Thunderbolts was much higher in the past.”
“My original plan was for you to gradually become a second-circle wizard, collecting magical resources along the way. Then, I would spend some time with you modifying the method for creating Green Dragon Lightning, reducing the resources required. But if you want to become a second-circle wizard faster, I support that, though it will be more difficult for you.”
“Of course, I can still work with you to simplify the creation process and reduce the costs of the Green Dragon Lightning. It’s just that the time is too short; I’ll hardly achieve anything.”
Locke reminded Douglas, “Don’t forget, in the modern magical age, you can obtain grants. If you can officially join Golden Crown Mountain or a certain academy and take on a teaching position, you can use the creation of the Green Dragon Lightning to apply for grants.”
Locke continued, “The funding provided by general grants is naturally small, but if you can enter a key laboratory and utilize its resources, you can save on many resource costs.”
“The grant system in the modern magical age is designed to help young wizards like us realize our better ideas,”
Douglas said, a glimmer of hope in his eyes.
Locke added, “Besides, my Aladdin Shop Alliance can offer you a designer position with a base salary plus commission. We can discuss the specific contract later. But in any case, if you can produce a product that sells well, you’ll quickly recoup your investment.”
Douglas’s hope deepened.
Locke couldn’t help but admire how effective it was to incentivize employees with money.
In this way, Douglas will work diligently within his Aladdin Shop Alliance and won’t slack off.
If he’s truly bound by so-called favors without considering his own interests, then even the greatest favors will eventually wear off, and he’ll grow resentful.
King Lagmamon said, “By the way, considering the fund system and the resources you can obtain through it, perhaps I can reduce the cost of crafting the Green Dragon Lightning to fifty million magic stones. Of course, this still requires a lot of money. You’d better work hard at Aladdin and create one or two super-selling single items; that way, the money will be raised.” Douglas
asked doubtfully, “Teacher, why can you reduce the cost by so much?”
Locke also looked at King Lagmamon with a puzzled expression.
King Lagmamon explained to the two, “Most of the costs are spent on constructing high-level magic arrays, which are already present in many advanced laboratories. If we could enter several advanced laboratories and piece things together… perhaps we could create a magic array capable of forging green dragon lightning. I only realized this after hearing what you said.”
Locke coughed.
King Lagmamon said, “However, to do it my way, even without special funding, we would need to enter an advanced academy of truth and apply for several first-class project grants.” “
In other words, it’s a waste to use many high-level magic arrays only as one-time items. Therefore, we don’t need to build them from scratch.”
Douglas was extremely excited. “I didn’t expect there to be such a trick up your sleeve,”
the Witch-King Lagmamon exclaimed. “It’s because the way you acquire resources in your era is much simpler than it was back then.”
Locke pointed to the giant orc skull and asked, “Witch-King, what is this?”
The Witch-King Lagmamon glanced at it and said, “Oh. It’s the corpse of a Red Orc.”
Locke frowned, thought for a moment, and realized that he had never heard of an intelligent subspecies of orcs called Red Orcs before.
Lagmamon the Witch-King said, “They are the native inhabitants of the Orcish Great World. In the past, they were a Void nomadic race that conquered other planes. During the Age of Stars, they invaded the Wizarding World when we were in decline.”
“The Badakria Royal Court waged war against them, and tens of thousands of wizards died. These orcs possessed a racial talent for spatial leaping, allowing them to move swiftly across our Wizarding World, which was once filled with magical kingdoms. Our armies, however, moved slowly due to the numerous magical kingdoms, requiring confirmation and consent from the wizarding master of each kingdom before crossing.”
“As a result, these Red Orcs moved like the wind, while we, moving within our own territory, were slower than they could move into our world via Void Orc warships. This led to our world being invaded and plundered by these Red Orcs for a long time.”
Locke asked, “Then why didn’t I see any of these Red Orcs when I was excavating the [Heliotos Royal Court]?”
Lagmamon the Witch-King raised his young, handsome eyebrows, his voice soft and androgynous.
“The Royal Court of Heliotos? Never heard of it. Besides, the title ‘Royal Court’ was only established after eleven consecutive generations of genius kings in Badachria; it’s a title given to our magical kingdom by outsiders.”
“However, if this Royal Court appeared after our Badachria Royal Court, then it makes sense. Perhaps after our Royal Court, every ruler of the subsequent Age of Stars will be given the title of Royal Court.”
“But the Red Orcs have been completely dealt with by me,” said
the Witch-King Lagmamon. “Because the Red Orcs’ spatial teleportation ability was too troublesome, and I realized that the magical kingdoms scattered across the land had become an obstacle, I used the power of the Royal Court to begin the necessary unification process.”
“As long as we bring all those magical kingdoms under the control of our [Badaklia Royal Court], our mobilization of large armies won’t be hampered by the vastness of our kingdoms, preventing us from being forced into a passive position by those red orcs. After unifying one-third of the wizarding world, I launched a war against the orcish world. I successfully sealed that world, killed most of its powerful beings, and destroyed the [elemental coupling channels] that naturally formed between that world and other planes.”
“In this way, the orcish world was sealed by me. The only remaining elemental coupling channel of that world was left behind and sealed here as well.”
Locke’s eyes lit up. “That means that although the entrance to this treasure land is blocked by the Dark Lord, there is still an exit to this treasure land.”
King Lagmamon paused for a moment. “Yes. You can understand it that way.”
“However, so many years have passed, I don’t know what’s become of the Orcish World. But before I withdrew my troops, I left behind enough conflicts and hidden dangers, and also left behind garrisoned wizards. I believe that under my arrangements at the time, the Orcish World shouldn’t have recovered its strength yet.”
“Therefore, we might indeed be able to travel to that world through this naturally formed dimensional portal in the Orcish World, and from there return to the Wizarding World, avoiding the Dark Lord.”
Locke said, “It’s settled then. Douglas, let’s go.”
He looked at a stone gate next to the peach tree at the very center of this treasure land; it was clearly a sealed magical gate, presumably the location of the natural dimensional portal to the Orcish World.
