Chapter 977
Chapter 977
Chapter 971 Continue, continue, the nightmare of the Supreme Eye Demon!
Locke took the letter of introduction from her and quickly read it through, confirming that this person was indeed a wizard recommended to him by his teacher.
This witch was an ordinary resident of Star City, located within this key laboratory. Her ancestor was a wizard mentor from Golden Crown Mountain over a thousand years ago. After entering the key laboratory, he had a child with an ordinary resident here. Later, her ancestor died in the Twin Demon Realms during the Demon Realm War.
Over the past thousand years, this witch’s ancestors moved around Star City many times. Although it was just a city to them, neither big nor small, to these mortals, this city was their world. Because the city itself was large enough, they only migrated to some corners of the city, yet it took them a thousand years, and they still hadn’t completely explored the entire city.
During this period, no outstanding wizards appeared in their clan.
It wasn’t until this generation that this witch named Planknia received special training from Golden Crown Mountain because of her outstanding talent.
Locke read the handwritten letter of introduction from his teacher, which explained that this witch’s ancestor was a Sun Ring Wizard from Golden Crown Mountain who died in the Demon War. According to the contract her ancestor signed with Golden Crown Mountain, this witch enjoyed various benefits, including the ability to choose a skilled wizard as
her teacher during her vaporization stage. These rights were retained because, over the past thousand years, her lineage’s wizarding talent had been rather mediocre, leaving her with most of the resources obtained under the contract.
After her promising wizarding talent was discovered, these resources were entirely given to her.
Overall, she was a rather lucky girl.
However, Locke frowned slightly because this witch only possessed level 6 sensitivity to fire element particles, level 3 sensitivity to wood element particles, and level 5 sensitivity to ether element particles.
Her primary studies were botany and breeding.
She’s 29 years old this year. The reason she can become a wizard at the vaporization stage at such a young age is mainly due to the substantial inheritance left to her by her ancestors, the special care she receives from the academy, and the abundant magical tide concentration gradient in the key laboratory.
‘Her talent is a bit low.’
Locke felt a slight headache.
‘No wonder she needed the handwritten letter of introduction from my teacher.’
‘As a senior researcher at the Golden Crown Mountain True Knowledge Academy, according to my contract with the academy, I am not only entitled to two apprentices upon entering the academy, but I will also be assigned an excellent apprentice every year thereafter. But if I don’t take her, then this year’s apprentice spot will be taken by her.’
‘Logically, the academy should give me an elemental child with level 7 talent this year.’
‘Based on her innate talent, she is clearly more proficient in the Transfiguration or Evocation schools, but she chose the Life school. Although this aptitude doesn’t definitively prove anything, it shows which discipline a wizard’s comprehensive thinking might be better suited to.’
Locke weighed the options in his mind.
‘Should we give the teacher face?’
The white-haired witch, whose face appeared rather small, swallowed hard. She saw the hesitation in Locke’s eyes; she had seen too many such looks throughout her life, making her extremely sensitive to them.
Her heart pounded.
She had long heard of Locke Augustine’s reputation, knowing he was a very famous young breeder in Yunze Wetlands, enjoying numerous honors, having completed many projects, published many articles, and won many awards. Planknia was terrified that Locke would flatly refuse, because Locke had that right.
If Locke refused directly now, showing no respect to Catherine, Catherine would not blame Locke Augustine for her sake.
Locke glanced at her, weighing the pros and cons. Because she was in this key laboratory, she could access many environmental resources, but she would miss out on many external resources, such as articles, projects, and competitions. The only redeeming quality was her relatively fast advancement speed, but by his standards, it was insignificant.
Locke pondered how to handle the situation.
‘Since my teacher recommended me, there must be a reason.’
Locke carefully considered his words before speaking. ‘I’ve reviewed your qualifications.’
Planknia felt her breath catch in her throat.
Locke continued, ‘You are a descendant of wizards from the Academic Committee, that’s true. However, your qualifications don’t reflect your breeding expertise. You probably don’t have a formal breeder’s certificate, and the key laboratory likely lacks the necessary testing facilities.’
A first-level breeder’s certificate exam requires at least three formal breeders as examiners,
along with appropriate facilities .
While the key laboratory has more advanced wizards, the problem is, they simply can’t provide the necessary testing environment.
Locke said, ‘How about this…’
Planknia looked at Locke nervously.
‘Lord Augustine, please speak,’
Locke said. ‘Grow this seed. If you can, I’ll accept you. If not, then we’ll see.’
‘I’ll give you a week.’
Locke handed a seed of the Tyrant Sea Gold Sand to the witch in the vaporization stage. “
The moment Plankonia touched the seed, she exclaimed, “Lord Augustine, this doesn’t seem to be an ordinary sea ginseng seed.”
Locke glanced at her. “What, have you handled a lot of sea ginseng?”
Plankonia’s face flushed slightly.
“Oh, Lord Augustine, although we natives can’t use most of the equipment in the key laboratories, as long as we complete many academy tasks, we might obtain permission from the academy to use some smaller devices. I’ve done many tasks before and obtained permission to use the holographic projector. I’ve used many holographic magical plants on that device.” “
So I have indeed handled a lot of sea ginseng. But those aren’t real sea ginseng after all. This doesn’t seem to be an ordinary sea ginseng seed.”
“This is a test from Lord Augustine, it certainly won’t be that simple. I understand, Lord Augustine, I will try my best to find a way to make it germinate.”
Locke nodded slightly. “Then your foundation is quite solid.”
He discovered that holographic magical plants had another advantage: they could reduce the experimental costs for low-level wizards.
Locke turned and left, while Planknia watched his retreating figure, secretly clenching her fists. She whispered to herself, “This is my only chance, I must seize it. If I miss it, my starting point will be much lower. Only by becoming Augustine’s student can I obtain the best platform to begin with. Although my talent is only level 3, the information says that this aptitude level is the same as Lord Augustine’s.”
A look of admiration flashed in Planknia’s eyes.
“Lord Augustine is my goal and direction.”
“Although my starting point in botany and breeding is a bit low, it doesn’t mean I have no chance.”
Planknia looked at the Tyrant Sea Gold Sand seed in her hand and said, “I must plant it within this week.”
Locke sat on his magic bed, flying towards the star trail, lost in thought.
“That witch has a special sensitivity to magical plants. Is that why the teacher recommended her to me?” “
She seems to be hiding some kind of secret. But she’s a native born within this key laboratory. If there’s a secret, then the place where that secret originated should also be this key laboratory.” “
The teacher suddenly entrusting her to me seems to have a deeper meaning. It must involve the people and things within this key laboratory. That’s normal; I’ve entered the core of the teacher’s academic lineage, so I’ll definitely be responsible for some affairs within this lineage.” “
Then let’s see if she can complete the test I gave her.”
…
Along the Tianjiang River, the witch Rose and the wizard Joshua stood in the special-grade laboratory of the Olayer Shop Alliance.
The witch Rose waved her hand, dispelling the magical sun. At that moment, the magical sun disappeared, and three rose darts fell.
They were a yellow rose dart, a red rose dart, and a blue rose dart.
The witch Rose said, “The Peach Dart is the culmination of ambush-type magical plant weapons. As long as you chant the incantation before facing the enemy, the power of the incantation will be contained within the magical plant. When the enemy approaches, they don’t need to make any extra movements; just a slight raise of the hand, and the Peach Dart will fly out, hitting the enemy.”
“Once the Peach Dart hits the enemy, it immediately causes an elemental inversion, disrupting the enemy’s magical pressure structure.”
“Although the Peach Dart has been constantly imitated, it has never been completely eliminated. Silver Peach Garden, therefore, has always stood strong, enjoying a prestigious reputation as a long-established shop alliance.”
A crystallized witch assistant beside Joshua nodded involuntarily, saying, “Yes. In our minds, the name Silver Peach Garden evokes such a long-established shop alliance. It feels like so many magical plant-related shop alliances have gone out of business, but Silver Peach Garden has always been there. Sometimes it feels like Silver Peach Garden will exist forever.”
The witch Rose’s face paled slightly, and she gave her a cold look.
Joshua, the wizard, broke out in a cold sweat. He knew the boss’s ruthlessness. He raised an eyebrow and scolded the witch, “You’re a traitor! How dare you say such a thing in our Olaye? What kind of shop alliance can stand the test of time? If a shop alliance stands the test of time, what are we, the successors, supposed to do?”
“If the old man doesn’t step down, how can we young people rise up? We in Olaye are here to do this kind of revolutionary work along the Tianjiang River!”
Rose, the witch, smirked.
“After poaching a lot of designers from Silver Peach Garden, I obtained a lot of relevant information. That’s how I perfected my Tricolor Rose Dart Branch using the Magical Frequency Cultivation Method. I must say, the Red Dragon Throne’s thinking was truly brilliant when she was young. She didn’t use advanced cultivation methods, but chose the most suitable Magical Frequency Cultivation Method. After obtaining the complete set of information, through my cultivation, my Tricolor Rose Dart Branch not only possesses all the advantages of the Peach Dart Branch, but also…”
“And the cost is about the same.”
Joshua, the wizard, glanced at her in surprise.
Rose, the witch, sighed.
“There’s no other way, we’ve really run out of options. The Red Dragon Witch’s Peach Dart Branches are already very cheap to cultivate. Sometimes I feel… the Red Dragon Throne and my great-grandmother, the Rose Throne, have such similar ideas. Looking at these materials feels like looking at my great-grandmother’s manuscripts.” A
sense of awe flashed in her eyes.
Two witches so alike appearing in the same wizarding land—was that luck or misfortune?
The witch Rose said, “Times are progressing, and the technology of the Permanent Defense Field is constantly being improved. The defensive power of the current Permanent Defense Field is increasing, so the instantaneous burst damage of the Peach Dart is no longer enough to instantly kill a first-ring wizard.”
“But my Tricolor Rose Dart, through a three-hit combo attack, doubles the attack from a single strike to three. Each time, a specific natural magical structural component is injected. Once the three are combined, a special natural magical structural component called [Crimson Spindle Spider Venom Silk] is produced.”
“That’s right, I’ve incorporated textile magic into this set of magical plants, so each time these roses hit an enemy, the injected natural magical structural component will weave within their body. The simultaneous injection of three toxins will weave my special shuttle-woven venomous silk within them.”
The wizard Joshua’s eyes changed slightly, and he clapped his hands.
“This is truly amazing,”
said Witch Rose. “With this, the burst damage of the Tricolor Rose Darts is enough to instantly kill a first-ring wizard through a sneak attack, or even severely injure a crystallized wizard. However, this is just ideal data; I still need to conduct multiple weapon tests and real-world tests.”
“But with such excellent data, I think wizards along the Tianjiang River will soon flock here. This magical plant weapon, like the Peach Darts, doesn’t require a botanical wizard to use; it’s a one-time use magical plant weapon.” “The Tide
Wizard Tower and the White Ice Tower have been fighting recently, haven’t they? I think they will desperately need these three rose darts I designed,”
said Witch Rose. “This way, we can completely send the Silver Peach Garden to its grave and solidify our position.”
“As for the weapons needed by the Tianjiang River in the planar war, I plan to convene a meeting of all the designers in Olayer to discuss how to design them.”
Wizard Joshua suddenly said, “Witch Rose, someone has come to visit our Olayer.”
Witch Rose’s eyes showed a hint of doubt.
“At this time? Is it Locke, or Fla, or perhaps the headmaster of Dalton Woods and Joseph’s Reed House?”
Wizard Joshua asked uncertainly. “None of them. But they didn’t introduce themselves.”
“They seem very mysterious, as if they’re hesitant to show themselves,”
Witch Rose suddenly laughed.
“How can Tianjiang Coast, a mid-level wizarding area, be so murky? How many hidden forces could such a small place like Tianjiang Coast possibly have? Oh well, if they want to see me, I’ll go see them.”
“Playing coy. Could it be that Locke sent them?”
Rose the Witch removed her magic gloves and wizard’s mask, then changed out of her white wizard’s robes and into a fitted black one.
After pinning on her badge, she left the special-grade laboratory and went to the first-floor hall of Olayer. Her brow furrowed, as the other person didn’t seem to be a wizard from the Tianjiang River Wizarding Land.
Rose the Witch looked at him coldly. The Star Ring Wizard had his back to her, looking up at the excellent magical plant works displayed in the Olayer hall.
“I heard you were looking for me? Who are you?”
“I don’t remember anyone like you from Tianjiang River.”
The wizard adjusted his hat, not turning around. He seemed older, and his tone carried the air of a senior speaking to a junior.
“As expected of Rose the Witch, I’ve long heard of your reputation. At such a young age, you manage multiple shop alliances, own businesses in several wizarding lands, and are a distinguished student of the Rose Council.”
“Seeing is believing. Seeing you today, I know…”
The wizard paused, for his hat suddenly flew up, spun in mid-air, and landed at his feet.
A spiderweb appeared beside his cheek.
Rose the Witch raised her index finger and pressed down on the transparent spiderweb.
“Enough nonsense. I hate those who play tricks. If you don’t introduce yourself, I might treat you as a dark wizard.”
The wizard chuckled, and the next moment, before Rose could react, his hat vanished from the ground and reappeared on his head.
Rose’s pupils constricted sharply.
‘The Conjuration School?’ This is spatial magic from the Conjuration School… no, it could also be Illusion Magic. Perhaps the hat never even existed in the first place. However, it could also be a special kind of superpower from the psychoanalytic school. “
Those superpowers are incredibly diverse; it wouldn’t be surprising if they produced some similar, bizarre abilities.”
The wizard didn’t turn around, but stood with his hands behind his back, looking up at the exquisite magical plant works on the wall, and said, “Witch Rose, you’re too impatient. I’m here to discuss a collaboration with you. The waters along the Tianjiang River are deeper than you think.”
“This place is more than you perceive.” “
I want to acquire your Olayer. Name your price. Not just here, but I’ll also go to Silver Peach Garden. We’re going to establish ourselves in all magical plant-related industries along the Tianjiang River.”
Witch Rose looked at him with an expression as if he were an idiot.
“Are you kidding me?”
The middle-aged wizard calmly took out a staff from his astral ring.
“No, I still have to go to Silver Peach Garden later.”
Witch Rose said, “Goodbye. And you don’t need to go to Silver Peach Garden. This is my kindness to you, because if Locke’s clone were still there, I’m afraid you wouldn’t be able to leave.”
The wizard chuckled. “I’ll be back. We wizards are determined to take over this territory.”
Rose the witch’s eyes were icy. “You think you can come and go as you please?”
With a wave of her hand, a water cannon spinning machine appeared behind her. This machine was mostly constructed of water elemental structures, resembling a semi-transparent spinning machine. Numerous spiderwebs were distributed across its key components, with small spiders crawling on them.
Rose the witch had received the most orthodox magical inheritance from the Rose Witches; her ultimate magic was honed to perfection. With a single move, magical pressure surged, and magical power flowed like a tidal wave. The internal mechanisms of the spinning machine spun rapidly, sending threads attacking the wizard.
Rose the Witch said unhappily, “Playing tricks. Let me see who you are before you leave.”
The next moment, a deep blue crystal sphere appeared around the wizard’s body. Then, countless complex magical models seemed to be rotating inside this sphere. The next instant, he vanished from his spot and reappeared 100 meters away.
Rose the Witch was stunned.
This was teleportation.
The opponent was indeed a wizard of the Conjuration School!
“But even if he’s a wizard of the Conjuration School… Conjuration spells are very slow, requiring a long preparation time. Even if he is a wizard of the Conjuration School, he shouldn’t… be able to instantly dodge my ultimate spell. That must be his ultimate spell,”
Rose the Witch deduced.
The Spider Paradise spinning machine behind her continued its attack, sending strands of venomous spider silk towards the opponent, but his teleportation speed was too fast. In just a few breaths, he teleported out of the Olayer Shop Alliance and into the outside world.
Outside, it was freezing cold, still under the influence of the Demonic Winter.
Rose the Witch’s eyes blazed with fury, and a spider-shaped ring of stars appeared behind her.
Simultaneously, Joshua the Wizard summoned a spellbook, his ultimate magic, unleashing a barrage of spells towards the mysterious wizard.
The wizard was caught in the crossfire of two powerful spells.
But the next moment, the wizard’s body transformed back into a crystal sphere, containing countless incredibly intricate magical models—structures that would inspire awe at a single glance. He then reappeared a hundred meters away, dodging all attacks.
Before Rose could even retaliate, he unleashed a series of powerful spells, “Peach Blossom Blossom.
” “I’ll be back, Rose. Then, I won’t just offer acquisition terms; I’ll help you go bankrupt and restructure. Hahaha…”
Rose the Witch’s eyes blazed with rage.
Her magical pressure turned crimson.
Joshua the Wizard stepped forward from behind her, glancing back at the Olayer Shop Alliance. The wizards within the alliance emerged curiously, observing the unfolding events.
Joshua said, “Such sophisticated spatial magic from the Conjuration school. Even within the field of spatial science, this person shouldn’t be an unknown figure. It doesn’t seem like someone invited from Golden Crown Mountain; Golden Crown Mountain doesn’t have such a powerful spatial wizard.”
Witch Rose frowned. “It’s possible he was hired by Locke to harass us. No, Locke isn’t that petty. I hope Locke kills him.”
“Of course, Locke shouldn’t be in Silver Peach Garden right now.”
“Joshua, go buy a defensive magic array and place it in Olaye. I know it costs money, but if he can come and go freely, our designs can be taken at any time. Wait… his spatial magic is too powerful.”
Witch Rose’s eyes flashed with consideration. “A defensive magic array might be useless; he’ll find a loophole. And we can’t afford such an expensive one. How about this: purchase a batch of magic locks and magic wardrobes. This way, we can seal the data inside, and even if he enters Olaye, he won’t be able to open them or retrieve the sealed data.”
Witch Joshua nodded. “Alright. But Lady Rose, do you know the other person? Is he from the Land of Three Swamps?”
Witch Rose shook her head decisively. “No. We wizards from the Land of Three Swamps never hide our identities like this. Besides, the Land of Three Swamps isn’t particularly skilled in the Conjuration School of magic.”
Wizard Joshua said, “Could it be a wizard from the Land of Dragonfall or the Southern Wizard Capital?”
“That’s not right. The Southern Wizard Capital doesn’t have any wizarding academies specializing in the Conjuration School, and the Land of Dragonfall is a holy land for alchemists. There are many alchemists there, and they’re not skilled in the Conjuration School…”
“If we’re talking about a region that’s famous for Conjuration magic, and it’s a high-level wizarding region, then it’s the Mountain and Water Deer Ridge Wizarding Region.” The
Mountain and Water Deer Ridge is near the Land of Dragonfall. Its terrain resembles the antlers of a sika deer. The terrain is rugged. Ninety percent of the Wizarding Region is mountainous, seventy percent of the remaining ten percent is lakes, swamps, and rivers, and the last part is plains. The entire Wizarding Region is like a mountain range.
This wizarding land is renowned for its wizarding shoes and robes, boasting numerous high-ranking magic weavers and a major manufacturing base for key materials for vital void warships, as well as a variety of specialized wizarding garments. Influenced by the Dragonfall Land, it’s also a wizarding land where alchemy is a prominent field. Besides these light magic industrial products, it also houses manufacturing facilities for key components of void warships and energy storage facilities.
However, due to research related to void warships and the fragmented terrain of the Mountain and Water Deer Ridge, the local conjuration school is also quite strong. The various teleportation portals built by the conjuration school allow wizards in the Mountain and Water Deer Ridge to leave their homes; otherwise, they might find themselves facing sheer cliffs.
The witch Rose looked thoughtful. “You mean the Mountain and Water Deer Ridge Wizarding Land wants to get involved in the magical plant industry along the Tianjiang River?”
“But I don’t remember the Mountain and Water Deer Ridge having any outstanding magical plant industry. Why are they getting involved? It might not be them.”
“Alright, let’s leave it at that for now. He’s just a cowardly scoundrel. Joshua, let’s continue our attack on Silver Peach Garden. We must crush their last breath. We need to find the buyer of the Tricolor Rose Dart as soon as possible. I’m holding a press conference in a month to make Silver Peach Garden, this shop alliance, a thing of the past.”
…
After the middle-aged wizard escaped, he found a river, took off his magical hat, and placed it in the river. Instantly, the river began to swirl. The middle-aged wizard smiled bitterly at the phantom face that appeared within the hat.
“Sorry, I went to see the Witch Rose, but before I could even speak with her, she attacked me.” “
It seems we have to demonstrate our strength first to get these young wizards from the Three Swamps to leave. Don’t worry, I didn’t reveal my identity this time. They don’t even know what I look like, so they shouldn’t be able to tell which wizarding land I’m from.” “
The layout along the Tianjiang coast and the Starfield Sea is related. The Demon Ascension Project will expand the pie, but the problem is how to distribute it. Who gets more, who gets less? Heh, first secure our positions, and our wizarding lands can become even more prosperous. In such a rapidly changing era, clinging to old rules will only lead to failure.”
“Yes, I know.”
“I won’t alert them.”
…
At Golden Crown Mountain, in the key laboratory, Locke created an environment similar to the Abyss of a Thousand Eyes, consuming 90 of his parallel coins.
Using the secrets of creation, Ling Hong created the Thousand-Eyed Abyss environment within the White Cardamom Farm, resembling the real Thousand-Eyed Abyss. Of course, this was merely a simulation of its form, and only for those at the second-ring level; it was almost an exact replica.
Since those at the second ring level couldn’t distinguish the difference, he had indeed created this small world within this key laboratory by spending 90 parallel coins.
Locke saw countless starlight converging towards this small world. These starlights were all conjured by Ling Hong, rapidly shifting within him, with spiritual energy surging in.
This spiritual energy contained hundreds of types. Ling Hong could simulate the environment of the Thousand-Eyed Abyss, while the spiritual energy could simulate its dimensional principles. Through hundreds of related types of spiritual energy, one could easily obtain dimensional principles similar to the Thousand-Eyed Abyss.
This was the function possessed by the White Cardamom Farm.
Locke guessed that this function was likely supported by the Sky-Piercing Tree.
A day later, Locke walked through this small simulated environment, his feet sinking into a sea of blood. Except for the absence of the low-level Eye Demons, it was almost identical to the Thousand-Eyed Abyss he had previously encountered.
With a wave of his hand, Locke instantly created acre after acre of magical fields.
One after another, Golden Dragon Claw Air Plants fell there.
“I didn’t have time to properly abyss-ify the Golden Dragon Claw during my two previous entries into the Abyss,”
Locke pondered. Although many things had happened recently, time hadn’t passed quickly, as so many events had accumulated over a period of time.
“With the support of the key laboratory, I can quickly complete the abyss version of the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant. Hmm… for my first use of the key laboratory, I’ll practice with the abyss version of the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant Wizard Shoes.”
Locke had gained inspiration from the large amount of hybrid wheat he had previously harvested. Through hybridization, a magical plant could achieve a specific, directional, and stable characteristic, and the underlying magical plant traits…
He wanted to transfer the Abyss Devourer from the Abyss Sea Gold Sands into his Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant Wizard Shoes.
Ordinary grafting methods are difficult to transfer such a uniquely fundamental plant cellular structure into other magical plants. After all, the Abyss Devourer corresponds to chloroplasts, while the spiritual fusion created by grafting is generally based on changes in the plant factors and organs of a single magical plant.
Of course, grafting has advantages over hybridization: it’s faster, less expensive, less technically demanding, and can more stably obtain specific superior magical plant traits. It can also often be done across different magical plant categories, resulting in a much larger pool of plant factors.
However, inspired by his previous extensive hybridization of two grains of wheat, he could graft an Abyss Sea Gold Sands plant onto a Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant, allowing the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant to acquire the plant essence corresponding to the Abyss Devourer. Then, through hybridization, he could allow this Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant to hybridize with his other Golden Dragon Claw Air Plants.
Finally, he completed his Abyss version of the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant.
Locke acted immediately, using his external avatar to purchase resources, spending approximately five million magic stones to cultivate a large number of fast-growing Golden Dragon Claw Air Plants and obtain the corresponding seeds. He then planted these seeds in the soil and began grafting them with Sea Gold Sand.
A week later, Locke continuously activated the double world acceleration function within this small world, reducing his time by half. Combined with the speed of the Evolution Moon, his grafting cultivation process would be even faster.
Locke saw one hundred Abyss Sea Gold Sand fast-growing plants grafted onto the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plants.
In this week, using abundant resources, he created over six hundred Abyss Sea Gold Sand fast-growing plants and over six hundred Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant fast-growing plants. Then, through time acceleration, he grafted them repeatedly, using the Evolution Moon to accelerate their growth time and time again, finally obtaining a Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant containing a portion of the Abyss Devourer plant essence.
Locke looked at the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant and said, “It’s a success. Using the resources of the key laboratory really does save a lot of time and create the best conditions. The first two times I entered the Abyss, I couldn’t find an opportunity to adapt the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant to the Abyss.”
Locke sighed,
recalling how he had been besieged by various demons during those two entries into the Abyss. The Abyss was simply too chaotic; finding a peaceful place to farm was a luxury.
Originally, without the key laboratory, he had planned to lead his two hundred red orcs and his apprentices directly into the Abyss to see if they could carve out a piece of land for farming.
Indeed, he had considered attacking a region on the first level of the Abyss plane and establishing some farmland there.
However, due to cost considerations, he hadn’t immediately implemented it.
Locke looked at the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant.
“That’s only half the battle won. This Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant doesn’t have the Abyss Devourer, only related plant essence groups. But by continuously hybridizing, one of the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plants will eventually be able to express the plant factors of these Abyss Devourers.”
“I just don’t know how much it can express.”
“If it succeeds, I can use this method to transfer the Abyss Devourer to other magical plants. Of course, air plants are naturally suitable for hybridization.”
“There are also magical plants that aren’t suitable for hybridization.”
Locke pointed a finger at the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant and used the Flower Bloom and Fade Technique on it. The magical plant quickly withered, producing three seeds.
“First, we need to create a sterile strain of this air plant, and then crossbreed it. This will stabilize the plant’s traits.”
A week later, two dark golden Golden Dragon Claw Air Plants appeared in the field within Locke’s small world.
“Through time acceleration and a suitable environment, this magical plant is finally complete.”
“Thus, this Dark Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant is finished.”
Locke looked at the magical plant before him. Since it was only for Abyss adaptation, he could have simply created this small world in the key laboratory and used the Lunar Cultivation Method for Leap Evolution. However, because he wanted to further transfer the Abyss Devourer, making the Golden Dragon Claw Air Plant even more adapted to the Abyss environment, and even unleash greater power within it, he spent an extra two weeks completing this breeding work.
Locke summoned the two magical plants, then stepped onto the sea of blood as if walking on flat ground. Moreover, these Dark Gold Dragon Claw Air Plants not only completely isolated the wizard from the abyss environment, but also continuously absorbed abyssal energy. Possessing abyssal devourers and chloroplasts, they could draw energy from both magical tides and abyssal energy, thus their durability in the abyssal environment should far exceed that of ordinary wizard shoes, and could even provide a wizard with mana replenishment during war.
“This way I can explain to the High Elf Queen, Arthas.”
“But…”
Locke’s interest was piqued. He surveyed the Thousand-Eyed Abyss before him. Although he hadn’t entered the abyss during his two weeks here, he was extremely familiar with the planes of this level.
The Thousand-Eyed Abyss contained many low-level magical plants characteristic of the abyss, seemingly replicated during the creation of this small world.
What caught Locke’s attention, however, was the many air plants growing on the reefs within the sea of blood in this small world.
In other words, there were already many air plant magic plants in the Blood Sea of the Thousand-Eyed Abyss.
“Hybridization can basically be done with air plant magic plants, as long as pollination is successful. Even if it doesn’t, there are some auxiliary hybridization spell models.”
“Although I’ve spent more than two weeks here, because the flow of time in this parallel world differs from the outside world—it might not even be a week outside—the actual acceleration of time in this parallel world is more than double.”
“To be able to make such full use of the time difference between different worlds…”
Locke’s eyes flickered. “With such good conditions, I’m itching to get started. These air plants growing in the abyss should inherently possess many abyss-related energy-locking structures and plant organs, so I can further hybridize them to upgrade my Dark Gold Dragon Claw Wizard Shoes. Or create other versions of wizard shoes.”
“That’s right, continue!”
“The Abyss Devourer is just something I created at the first level; it’s itself a plant organ that can be upgraded, or rather, something that should be upgraded anyway.”
(End of Chapter)
