Chapter 170 - 167: Kill Him for Me
Chapter 170 - 167: Kill Him for Me
It had to be said that traveling with the Eternal Commerce Association’s convoy, led by Zhu Daoren, proved quite useful along the way. Whenever they encountered spirit beasts, the association’s guards dispatched them one by one. They also ran into a few bandits, but the association’s reputation and formidable presence easily scared them off. After a dozen days or so, Mo Qianqian followed the convoy and safely arrived at the Realm of Chaos.
"Just ahead lies the territory of the Realm of Chaos," Zhu Daoren said, pointing to the small trail before them.
The surroundings consisted of low slopes and flatlands covered in lush grass and slender trees. It didn’t look much different from the road they had previously traveled. However, after continuing forward for a while, Mo Qianqian began to sense a distinct change.
The Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi in this area was entirely different from the outside world. It carried a violent, maddening aura that induced irritability, chaos, and a deep-seated urge to kill.
"Old Mo, did you notice the difference?" Zhu Daoren chuckled upon seeing the change in Mo Qianqian’s expression. "Your senses are spot on. The Realm of Chaos gets its name precisely because of this Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi.
"The heaven and earth here are filled with the Qi of Chaos.
"Just like the Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi outside, this chaotic Qi can be used for cultivation. In fact, it’s even more effective than regular Heaven and Earth Spiritual Qi. The cultivation speed here is much faster than in the outside world.
"Of course, there are side effects. The hostility within this chaotic Qi is simply too heavy. It inevitably makes people restless and impetuous. In severe cases, it can even cause one to lose control. If your Spiritual Power isn’t strong enough, it’s best not to refine too much of this chaotic Qi."
Hearing this, a look of surprise washed over Mo Qianqian’s face. So the name of the Realm of Chaos originated from this chaotic Qi? In that case, the slaughter here had to be far worse than outside.
"Within the Realm of Chaos, apart from three specific places—Black Dragon City, Cyan Cloud Mountain, and the Imperial Alliance—slaughter happens every single day everywhere else," Zhu Daoren warned. "Once we go inside, keep a low profile, or you might invite a fatal disaster at any moment."
Mo Qianqian nodded.
Just as his words fell, numerous figures suddenly sprinted toward them. Some flew through the air, while others dashed across the ground. A full group of twenty to thirty men quickly surrounded Mo Qianqian and the convoy.
These individuals exuded a heavy, violent aura, terrifying the Spiritual Steeds so much that they immediately halted.
"Bandits from the Realm of Chaos?" Mo Qianqian frowned.
They had encountered bandits along the way before, but almost none were a match for Zhu Daoren and his men. Most of them had backed down and yielded the road the moment they heard the name of the Eternal Commerce Association. Some were even reverse-robbed by Zhu Daoren instead. According to Zhu Daoren, that was just "doing business" and couldn’t be called robbery.
However, the bandits within the Realm of Chaos appeared vastly different from those on the outskirts. These bandits were far more vicious and reeked of bloodlust.
Zhu Daoren’s expression changed. He shouted toward the front, "Everyone, I am Zhu Daoren, a steward of the Eternal Commerce Association. Please let us pass."
"The Eternal Commerce Association?" The leader was a bald man with facial tattoos and a fierce, wicked look. Hearing the association’s name, he paused for a moment before letting out a cold sneer. "Then you must be loaded. Hand over everything, and I’ll leave your corpses intact."
"HOWL!" The group of bandits beside him grew excited, howling relentlessly.
"I am a member of the Feng family from Black Dragon City! I dare you to touch me! The Feng family will definitely hunt you down across the entire Realm of Chaos!" At this moment, the woman in the light green dress shouted loudly.
"Someone from the Feng family?" The bandit leader frowned, and the expressions of the other bandits immediately shifted.
It was evident that the Feng family of Black Dragon City was quite renowned in the Realm of Chaos.
"Hmph, you say you’re from the Feng family, and we’re just supposed to believe you?" the bandit leader snorted coldly.
The woman took out a token. "This is the token of the Feng family."
Upon seeing this, the bandit leader’s face changed. "We’ll give the Feng family face. Let’s go!" Saying that, the bandit leader turned his head, ready to leave.
Seeing the scene unfold, Mo Qianqian was mildly surprised. The bandits hadn’t given any face to the Eternal Commerce Association, yet they were ready to turn and leave the moment they heard she was from the Feng family. It seemed the Feng family’s reputation in the Realm of Chaos was truly formidable.
"Wait a minute!" the woman in the light green dress shouted just as the group of bandits was about to leave.
"Is there something else?" The bandit leader frowned.
"Kill him for me," the woman in the light green dress said, pointing straight at Mo Qianqian.
"Oh?" A hint of surprise appeared on the bandit leader’s face.
While the Feng family might not necessarily be able to track him down, it was always best to avoid offending them if possible. However, the same couldn’t be said for the rest of the convoy. When it came to other people, they would rob anyone they could. Since this member of the Feng family had explicitly singled someone out, didn’t that mean they could just go up and rob him? As a bonus, they would also be selling a favor to the Feng family.
Mo Qianqian frowned. Did this woman in the light green dress really want to kill him? More than ten days had passed, and she was still hung up on taking his life?
"Miss Feng, he is also our guest. You’re putting us in a very difficult position," Zhu Daoren said, his brow furrowing.
"He never asked you for protection; he just hitched a ride on a Shunfeng Steed. And I’m not asking your men to do the deed. This doesn’t violate your rules, does it?" the woman in the light green dress retorted.
"That may be true, but..." Zhu Daoren was clearly displeased.
Before he could finish, the woman in the light green dress cut him off. "No buts. This is a private matter between the Feng family and him.
"Kill him, and whatever is on him belongs to you," she added, looking back at the bandit leader.
SWISH!
Before the bandits could make a move, Mo Qianqian took the initiative. He leaped off his Spiritual Steed and charged straight at the woman in the light green dress.
"You dare to attack me!" The woman flew into a rage. "Li Chen, kill him!"
Li Chen’s expression shifted. To protect her, he had no choice but to lunge forward and block Mo Qianqian’s path. However, he was completely unable to stop him in time.
BANG!
With a loud crash, Li Chen’s body was sent flying away by Mo Qianqian’s powerful strike. Without skipping a beat, Mo Qianqian dashed right in front of the woman in the light green dress.
She tried to fight back, but if an expert at the First Level of Tongyou Realm like Li Chen couldn’t block him, she stood absolutely no chance. Mo Qianqian’s right hand clamped firmly around her throat.
"You want to kill me?" The woman’s face twisted with immense fury. "I am the precious daughter of the Feng family! You wouldn’t dare touch me!"
"What do you think?" Mo Qianqian tightened his grip slightly.
"Just try it! If you lay a hand on me, my Feng family will annihilate your entire bloodline!" she threatened.
"Then let’s find out!" Mo Qianqian said, preparing to finish her off.
"Wait a minute!"
Zhu Daoren, standing nearby, turned pale and hastily pleaded, "Old Mo, could you let her off the hook, just as a favor to me?"
He hadn’t expected Old Mo’s strength to surpass Li Chen’s, sending a First Level of Tongyou Realm expert flying with a single punch. Furthermore, Mo Qianqian’s attack had been so decisive and swift that Zhu Daoren hadn’t even had time to react.
"Brother Mo, I wasn’t trying to attack you. I just wanted to protect her," Li Chen pleaded as he climbed up from the ground. "She is young and ignorant. Could you please show some mercy?"
