Chapter 173 - 170: Did You Kill Them?
Chapter 173 - 170: Did You Kill Them?
"Yes, there is a Void Spirit Realm First Layer expert!" Zhu Daoren answered.
Hearing this, Mo Qianqian felt a headache coming on. A Void Spirit Realm First Layer expert—he was currently no match for someone of that level! The experts within Black Dragon City were truly formidable. The Feng Family was merely a single clan in the city, not even the Black Dragon Army or the City Lord’s Mansion, yet they actually had a Void Spirit Realm First Layer expert. No wonder those bandits had to show the Feng Family some respect.
"If you want to live, it depends on whether anyone in the Black Dragon Army takes a liking to you. It’s not like there aren’t people who despise the Feng Family," Zhu Daoren added.
"Thanks." With that, Mo Qianqian headed into the city.
By going into Black Dragon City and displaying formidable strength, he might find someone willing to protect him. But if he left now, he would inevitably be hunted down by the Feng Family—specifically by a Void Spirit Realm expert. More importantly, when the experts from the Ling Family and the Great Zhou Dynasty came after him, he wouldn’t have the protection of Black Dragon City. He was confident that once he revealed his trump cards, the ruling powers of the city would take an interest in him. After all, he was a Spirit Master, and Spirit Masters were always highly valued.
"Old Mo, if you have any business in the future, come find me in Jingshui Town!" Zhu Daoren shouted after him.
Mo Qianqian nodded and strode to the city gates, taking out his Resident Token.
There, a heroic-looking female guard wearing a golden dragon patterned black robe spoke to him politely, "Please show your City Residence Order."
Mo Qianqian took out the Token Emperor Xia had given him.
Upon seeing it, the several Black Dragon Army guards couldn’t help but gasp. "This is a Great Merit Token! You can reside in the Merit Mansion!"
"Merit Mansion?" Mo Qianqian asked, puzzled.
"In Black Dragon City, outsiders are forbidden from attacking any of the city’s residents. However, if residents fight amongst themselves, the Black Dragon Army can choose to intervene or turn a blind eye," one of the guards explained. "But inside the Merit Mansion, absolutely no one is allowed to fight. Otherwise, the Black Dragon Army will definitely take action. The only exception is if you step out of the Merit Mansion yourself."
Mo Qianqian was surprised. He wondered if that meant even within Black Dragon City, he wouldn’t have to worry about being attacked by a Void Spirit Realm expert, nor would he have to worry about the Feng Family coming after him.
"Where is the Merit Mansion? Can you take me there right away?" Mo Qianqian asked hurriedly.
"I would be glad to!" the female guard replied. She immediately stepped out of formation and led Mo Qianqian into Black Dragon City.
The moment he entered Black Dragon City, Mo Qianqian felt an inexplicable aura of hostility. There was a stark contrast between the inside and outside of the city walls. This hostility was complex and chaotic, carrying a faint underlying urge that made one want to riot.
Inside, the city looked much like the outside. The main streets were lined with various shops, and the sounds of hawkers crying out their wares filled the air. However, the number of pedestrians on the streets and in the shops was significantly lower than in large cities outside; it could even be described as desolate. Most notably, Mo Qianqian felt that the vendors shouting their wares all carried a heavy aura of hostility, as if they could erupt at any moment. Even their sales pitches were laced with curses, and their gazes were unfriendly.
Before long, he saw people arguing in the street. The Black Dragon Army guard seemed entirely accustomed to this and showed no intention of intervening.
"The hostility in Black Dragon City is very heavy. It’s always been this way, and you’ll need to get used to it," the female guard explained. However, recalling Mo Qianqian’s own violent actions just moments ago, she figured she was overthinking it. Someone who could punch holes straight through a dozen people was far more ruthless than the folks on these streets.
Mo Qianqian nodded. The chaotic and murderous nature of this Realm of Chaos was already deeply etched into his mind.
"How many people are there in Black Dragon City?" Mo Qianqian asked.
"There are fifty thousand people in total, with three thousand in the Black Dragon Army," the female guard replied.
Fifty thousand. Compared to the cities in the outside world, that number was incredibly small.
"Are those three thousand Black Dragon Army soldiers strong?" Mo Qianqian asked curiously.
The female guard paused for a moment before answering, "They are all at or above the Spirit Profound Realm. We have three hundred at the Tongyou Realm, and five great generals who are all at the Void Spirit Realm. The strongest of all is our leader, Black Dragon. No one knows exactly how powerful the Black Dragon Leader truly is."
Hearing this, Mo Qianqian was deeply shocked. Three thousand Black Dragon Army soldiers, all at the Spirit Profound Realm? Three hundred at the Tongyou Realm, and five at the Void Spirit Realm? If deployed, this force would be enough to sweep through the entire Great Xia Dynasty! Not to mention they had an even more powerful leader, Black Dragon. It was no wonder it took an alliance of one empire and four dynasties to be on equal footing with Black Dragon City. The Black Dragon Army was simply too powerful.
Furthermore, it seemed the Black Dragon Army was just the main fighting force of the city. Black Dragon City likely housed other large clans like the Feng Family. If those major clans were to join forces and mobilize, their combined combat power would be even more terrifying. With such strength, it made sense why no other faction dared to provoke Black Dragon City lightly.
"Let’s speed up to avoid any trouble," Mo Qianqian said to the female guard.
She nodded and broke into a sprint. Along the way, Mo Qianqian even saw people fighting. They weren’t very strong—only at the Spirit Vein Realm. However, the female guard ignored them completely, rushing forward at top speed.
In no time at all, Mo Qianqian was brought to an area near the center of the city. By the roadside stood a massive estate. Several guards were stationed at the entrance, wearing the signature uniforms of the Black Dragon Army and radiating intense murderous intent. Above the main gate hung a plaque with two words: "Merit Mansion."
"This is the Merit Mansion. Present your Token, and you may enter," the female guard said. "Since it’s your first time, you can have them arrange a residence for you."
"Thank you!" Mo Qianqian expressed his gratitude.
However, right at that moment, twenty to thirty vicious figures flew toward them. Dozens more followed closely behind, rushing over in a massive, overwhelming wave. In the blink of an eye, they completely surrounded Mo Qianqian. The main group landed directly in front of him, perfectly blocking the entrance to the Merit Mansion. Mo Qianqian couldn’t enter even if he wanted to.
"Are you the one who killed members of our Feng Family?"
The leader was a half-white-haired old man with a gaunt, hawkish face, glaring fiercely at Mo Qianqian.
Mo Qianqian frowned. The Feng Family had come after all?
"He is the Feng Family Patriarch, at the Ninth Level of Tongyou Realm. You’re in big trouble," the female guard said from the side.
"Is your Black Dragon Army not going to intervene?" Mo Qianqian asked.
"It’s not as simple as wanting to intervene. It also depends on strength and status. I’m just a lowly member of the Black Dragon Army; I have no authority over the Feng Family." Having said that, the female guard stepped aside, clearly showing that she was staying out of it.
Mo Qianqian was speechless. She was the one who escorted him here, after all. Moreover, he was a meritorious figure holding a Merit Mansion Token!
"As long as I fight my way through and enter the Merit Mansion, I’ll be fine, right?" Mo Qianqian looked at the female guard and asked again.
"No one dares to fight inside the Merit Mansion. Outside, we don’t care," she replied.
"Understood," Mo Qianqian nodded.
Ninth Level of Tongyou Realm? He had never fought someone at that level before. But considering he could kill someone at the Seventh Level of Tongyou Realm, it wasn’t impossible for him to stand his ground. Not to mention, he was also a Spirit Master.
"Boy, we’re asking you a question! Did you kill them?" another man beside the Patriarch shouted angrily.
