Chapter 5: What Do You Want to Do?
Chapter 5: What Do You Want to Do?
"You want me to kneel and kowtow to you?"
Mo Qianqian ignored Chen Zheng’s lackeys, his eyes narrowing at Chen Zheng. His Spirit shook, and a Spirit Body materialized out of thin air in front of him. Aside from him, no one else could see this Spirit Body.
"You think you can make me kneel? Chen Zheng, do you have a death wish?" Saying that, Mo Qianqian took a step forward. He didn’t exude any aura, but his Spirit was radiant, his imposing manner completely undiminished from back in the day.
Chen Zheng couldn’t help but be startled. He wondered if this was truly the former number one figure on the Hidden Dragon List. He had to admit, the imposing aura was quite intimidating. It was a pity, however, that the man was now nothing more than a cripple. Today, he was going to thoroughly trample this former top genius of the Hidden Dragon List under his feet.
Chen Zheng was just about to shout coldly, but before he could speak, it felt as though something had swept his legs out from under him.
THUD!
Chen Zheng’s legs gave way, and he instantly fell to his knees in front of Mo Qianqian.
"What?" The entire crowd froze in shock. Had Chen Zheng suddenly kneeled to Mo Qianqian?
Shishan and the other youths from the Shi Family were dumbfounded. How could Chen Zheng possibly kneel to a cripple like Mo Qianqian? Chen Zheng’s three lackeys couldn’t process what they were seeing either. Just a moment ago, hadn’t the young master demanded that Mo Qianqian kneel and kowtow? Why had he suddenly dropped to his knees instead? Was it solely because of Mo Qianqian’s imposing aura?
Chen Zheng himself was equally bewildered. He wondered how his legs had been swept out from under him, forcing him to kneel before Mo Qianqian. Who had done this?
A thick, murderous intent surged from within his heart. Just as he was about to turn his head to look, Mo Qianqian’s voice rang out again.
"Kowtow and admit your mistake!"
The moment the words fell, Chen Zheng’s head smashed into the ground.
THUD THUD THUD!
He was forced to kowtow three times in rapid succession, striking the ground so hard that his forehead began to bleed.
"Alright. Seeing as you’ve kowtowed and admitted your mistake, I’ll let you off this time. Don’t let it happen again!"
With that, Mo Qianqian strode away. The Spirit Body that had been pressing down on Chen Zheng’s head vanished instantly. Indeed, the one who had forced Chen Zheng to his knees and pressed his head down to kowtow was none other than that Spirit Body. It was just that no one else could see it. Moreover, given the Spirit Body’s strength, Chen Zheng didn’t have the slightest ability to resist!
"Chen Zheng actually kowtowed and apologized to Mo Qianqian? How is this possible?"
"Was Chen Zheng scared stiff by Mo Qianqian’s aura?"
"Who would have thought the young master of the Chen Family was such a coward? Terrified into kneeling and kowtowing by the mere aura of a cripple?"
The crowd broke into a flurry of discussion, no longer bothering to lower their voices. Even Shishan and the other Shi Family youths showed disdain on their faces, though secretly, they felt a thrill of satisfaction. None of them expected the usually arrogant and domineering Chen Zheng to be such a coward. It seemed they had thought too highly of him when they went out of their way to avoid him in the past.
"Who attacked me?!" Having regained control of his body, Chen Zheng was utterly enraged. He whipped his head around, only to find no one near him. "Who? Who exactly is attacking me?"
Chen Zheng scrambled to his feet, his vicious gaze sweeping the surroundings. His eyes brimmed with dense murderous intent.
The onlookers scoffed and dispersed. He was clearly frightened by a cripple’s aura, yet he had the gall to claim someone was attacking him. This young master of the Chen Family had no sense of shame left. Where was this bravado when he was facing the crippled Mo Qianqian? The eldest young master of the Chen Family was just a coward who bullied the weak and feared the strong.
"Y-Young Master, no one attacked you just now..." one of the lackeys reminded him in a weak, hushed voice.
"Bullshit! If no one attacked me, why would I kneel?" Chen Zheng cursed loudly.
The lackey didn’t dare say another word. How were they supposed to know why he knelt? Naturally, they didn’t dare voice that thought out loud.
"Mo Qianqian! Where is Mo Qianqian?!" Chen Zheng turned around and looked in the direction Mo Qianqian had left. He was just about to chase after him when a sharp pain flared in his knees. He staggered a few times and nearly fell over. His knees had been struck so hard he could barely walk. "What are you looking at? Hurry up and help me back!"
Chen Zheng was enraged to the extreme. Today, he had completely lost face. The three lackeys rushed forward to support him, leading Chen Zheng away.
"Chen Zheng was so terrified by a cripple that his legs turned to jelly, hahaha!"
"This is the eldest young master of the Chen Family? So he’s just a coward. To think a cripple could scare him this badly."
"Haha! Earlier, they laughed at the Shi Family for being robbed and taking in a crippled live-in son-in-law. Now, the eldest young master of the Chen Family actually knelt to our Shi Family’s useless son-in-law. What an absolute joke!"
Seeing Chen Zheng and his men leave, Shishan and the others burst into uproarious laughter. This would be a tremendous humiliation for the Chen Family. From now on, no one from the Chen Family would ever dare to mock the Shi Family again. Chen Zheng was destined to become the biggest laughingstock in all of Qingcheng.
The news rapidly spread through every street and alleyway.
...
Inside a courtyard at the Shi Family’s home.
Mo Qianqian returned to Shi Muyao’s courtyard and went straight to the kitchen to brew medicine. Soon, he carried a bowl of thick medicinal soup over to Shi Muyao.
"You aren’t going to tell me that this medicine will cure me, are you?" Staring at the pitch-black concoction, Shi Muyao was immediately infuriated. She had resigned herself to the fact that he had taken her six hundred taels of silver. But after all that, this was what he expected her to drink?
"Medicine, paired with medical treatment." Mo Qianqian brought out the set of silver needles he had purchased from the Ten Thousand Spirits Pavilion.
"Mo Qianqian!" Shi Muyao couldn’t help but shout. "What medical skills do you know? Weren’t you just after my money?"
"Did you think the person who once stood at the top of the Hidden Dragon List wouldn’t have any special experiences?" Mo Qianqian said. "This is a special healing method I obtained back when I ventured into a perilous land. You’re already in this state anyway, so what’s the harm in trying?"
"Fine! Let’s see how you plan to cure me!" Too lazy to argue further, Shi Muyao took the bowl from Mo Qianqian’s hands and downed it in one gulp. The medicine was so bitter that she nearly spat it right back out, but she ultimately managed to swallow it down with great difficulty.
Mo Qianqian took the empty bowl, set it aside, and walked over to her side. "For the second step, you need to lie down on the bed." Saying that, Mo Qianqian pushed Shi Muyao toward the antique bed.
"Mo Qianqian, what do you think you’re doing?!" Shi Muyao’s expression drastically changed.
