Chapter 21.

Zara's POV.

"Zara? Wake up baby!"

I woke up to a faint familiar sound, and felt someone shaking me gently. I shifted in my bed and squinted my eyes to find out who it was.

Zayn.

My eyes went wide with surprise, and then quickly returned back to normal, taking in what was happening.

Zayn sat beside me on the bed, his one hand on my shoulder, and the other on my forehead, gently caressing it.

"Hey! You're here so early?", I asked him in my sleepy voice.

"Yup! But it's not so early!", he winked.

Not so early?

I frowned, " What time is it?"

"It's almost eleven!", he replied, biting his lip, trying to suppress his laugh.

"What??", I jumped with surprise.

I picked up my phone and checked the time. 10:55am.

"Oh my God! I missed two lectures! Shit Shit Shit!", I started getting out of my bed, pushing away the blanket.

I was about to stand up when Zayn held my arm gently, stopping me from standing up.

I turned to look at him, with a slight frown.

He was staring with his caramel eyes, holding a grin on his face.

A smile went up my face, " What happened? I need to shower and go for the remaining of the classes,", I said to him.

"Well we have about 2 hours with us, you'll obviously not be able to attend the 11am class, and then there's lunch, and the last class is at one. So? Just relax okay? It's no big deal.", he gave me an assuring smile.

"But-"

"Zara! Come on chill..and by the way.. won't you like to spend some time with me?", he winked.

The way he said the last part, melted my heart. He looked at me, with longing and love.

"Okay!", I giggled.

He grinned and gestured me to sit on his lap.

I shifted and sat on his lap. As usual, chills went down my spine at his touch.

He rested his head on my shoulder and wrapped his arms around me, with my back touching his chest.

I felt his rhythmic breathing against my bare shoulder and I shivered.

For a second, George's face flashed in front of my eyes, but I quickly pushed it to the back of my mind. Not this time. I won't let him into my mind from now.

"You okay?", Zayn whispered into my ear, lifting his head.

"Yup! I'm very good infact!", I chirped.

Being held in Zayn's arms like that, I felt safe. I felt secured. A feeling that came to me only with my parents. 

A short silence existed between us. Zayn rested his head on my shoulder, and I was playing with his fingers wrapped around mine.

We were completely lost in each other, cherishing each and every moment.

"Zara?", Zayn whispered, with his head still resting on my shoulder.

"Yeah?", I asked, turning my head slightly to have a look at him.

"What's your favourite colour?"

"What?'', I chuckled.

"Yeah.. We don't know each other that well do we? I mean things like favourite colour, our hobbies. Things like that you know?"

I removed his arms from around me and turned to sit on the bed facing him.

"Hey! Come back!", Zayn said, making a puppy face.

I chuckled and brought up my hand to his cheek, caressing it.

"Talking like this would be better!", I winked.

Zayn rolled his eyes and I let out a giggle.

"Okay! As you say!", Zayn sighed.

I brought down my hand and wrapped my fingers around his. It felt perfect holding hands like this.

Zayn smiled looking down at it, and quickly looked up back at me.

"Yeah so my favourite colour is blue. Yours?"

And we discussed things like this for about half an hour.

By the time we ended, I was back into his lap, his arms wrapped around me, just like before. Need I mention how easily Zayn can convince me in doing something.

"This was fun yeah?", I asked Zayn.

"Of course love!" , Zayn smiled and gave me a kiss on my cheek.

I pulled away from him and climbed out of the bed.

"Where are you going?", Zayn asked, surprised.

"I'll be right back!" , I replied and bent down to give Zayn a peck on his lips.

Zayn's POV.

Zara walked towards her closet, leaving me wondering what made her get off me like that.

"Zayn! I need you to close your eyes!", she called out from behind me.

"What? Why? ", I enquired. What is she doing?

" Just close your eyes baby! "

The moment I heard the word baby, I knew I had to agree to what she said.

Each time she calls me baby, my heart skips a beat. I guess it's the way she says it. It sounds much more sweet when it comes out of her mouth.

" Okay okay! ", I agreed.

" And dare not open those eyes before I tell you to do so, okay? ", she said, waiting for me to agree.

" Yes love! ", I answered, closing my eyes, following my princess's orders.

I sat still my place, with my eyes screwed shut, waiting for Zara to tell me to open them.

I felt a slight movement on the bed and I tried my best not to peek through my eyes.

" Okay, open them now. ", Zara's voice came from the front, making me open my eyes slowly.

I left out a gasp when I saw what was in front of me.

Zara was sitting there with her legs crossed, and with an acoustic guitar in her hand,which was resting on her legs.

" Oh my God, you can play guitar too? ", I asked her, surprised at her multiple talents.

" A bit! ", Zara giggled.

I wanted to tell her how cute she looked when she giggled like that, but I decided against it. I need to know what is Zara going to do for me.

Before I could ask her, she chirped," Okay Zayn, I'm gonna sing a song for you. I had started writing it during my vacations, before coming here, and yesternight after we stopped texting, I prepared the tune. It's not very good, but I hope you like it. "

I simply had no words to say to her. She had no idea how much all these things ment to me.

This is what I want in a relationship. I don't want to be like other couples, who bring expensive gifts for each other spending shit loads of money. I want this. I want these gifts. I want these beautiful moments that we share with each other.

"Zayn? You're listening? "

I was snapped out of my thoughts with Zara's voice.

I grinned," Of course I am, sorry I was just thinking."

"About what? ", Zara asked, looking into my eyes, as id searching for an answer.

" I'll tell that later. Come on start now!", I cheered.

Zara gave me a slight nod of her head, and adjusted the guitar on her lap.

And soon enough, she sang the first verse..

I know that you want me,

I can see it in your eyes.

I stared at her beautiful face as she continued singing, feeling as if I'm the luckiest guy on this planet.

For sure I was.

I know that you adore me,
I can see it in you smile.

I couldn't stop smiling at her, taking in every word that left her mouth. The way she looked at me while singing, made my heart beat faster by the minute. I could feel blood rushing to my cheeks.

She took a breath as she finished the high note.

You're everything I ever dreamed of,
You're everything I ever wished for,
And I'm glad to find you.
So I just wanna say,
You're the best thing that ever happened to me..

I pulled her into a hug as soon as she put down her guitar on the bed.

I tightened my grip around her, never wanting to let go.

I buried my face in her neck, not wanting to say anything.

I swear even if I did, I would not be able to. I was speechless.

She hugged me back, even tighter.

"You liked it? ", she whispered into my ear.

I didn't want to pull away, but I did and looked into her eyes.

" I loved it Zara. You have no idea how much this means to me. No one ever did that for me! And seeing you singing for me like that, I just-"

Even before I could realise, Zara's lips were on mine.

I wrapped my arms around her and gently pushed her, making her lie down on the bed.

She wrapped my arms around my neck, and then cupped my face with both of her hands.

I pulled away to take a breath and found Zara giggling.

"What? ", I asked her politely.

" Nothing!", Zara smiled, pulling me again towards her.
